Today we learned more about why and how settlement occurred in the fertile crescent. We also learned a lot about Mesopotamia and how they thrived as a civilization. We did this by making our thinking visible on our reading booklets. We all learned a lot about ancient Mesopotamians, including what they traded, their money and many different aspects about their civilization. In the afternoon we worked on our Genius Hour projects. Mr. Hong checked in with us to make sure we had our inquiry questions and that we were on track to finish in two weeks time.

- You learned much about trade on Friday about what the Mesopotamians traded and who they traded with.
- List at least 2 different items they traded with people from different areas.
- Explain where these items came from.
- Also, explain how these items could have helped them develop as a society.
- For example - having previous metals allowed them to create coins to exchange for goods and services. When they started trading goods and services, this was the beginning of the Mesopotamian economy.
