6 Write Traits

Today, Mr. T taught the student their first lesson! He taught them PE. He gave them a volleyball pre-assessment and taught them the importance of movement. Afterwards, students learned about career clusters in career education. They will continue this laster this week. After recess, the students had writing class and were introduced to the 6 traits of good writing. After lunch, we had science and inquiry.

IMPORTANT:
1.) PRO-D DAY: Pro-d day on Friday (no school)>
2.) GROUSE GRIND: Return forms and make payments. WE STILL DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEER DRIVERS.
3.) ENSPIRE PARENT FORMS: Please read the form sent home today. All students will be participating this year. There is no survey to complete. Please ignore the last line on the letter.

LEARNING PLANNER:
1.) READING: 20 minutes

2.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today, you introduced to the 6 traits of good writing (Ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions). We talked about how you have already been working on 'organization' and the 'conventions'. Organization (paragraph structure - intro/body/conclusion) and conventions (spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation).
LEARNING INTENTION: I can explain something I have already been working on with the 6 write traits on the daily PAR.
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) PARAGRAPH FORMAT: intro/body/ conclusion.
2.) GIVENS: Pay close attention to your spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, etc.
3.) INTRO: Make it as exciting and engaging as possible.
4.) BODY: Include at least 2-3 examples/supporting points.
5.) CONCLUSION: Tie up your paragraph smoothly.
6.) PEER FEEDBACK/SELF-ASSESSMENT: Give 1 student 2 things to improve on based on the above criteria.
7.) REVISED VERSION: Based on the feedback you receive or the self-assessment you complete, post a revised version as a reply to your original post.

In today's classes I was granted access to more knowledge. In the morning, Mr.T taught us the basic throwing and catching skills. Afterward, we started a career education lesson, but I was cut shorted because I had ELL. In the middle of the day, we learned the six trait of good writing. After lunch, we worked on the DIY ecosystem, and then we had inquiry. Overall, today taught me a lot of new information, and I had fun while doing so.

What are the six traits of writing? The six traits of writing are key points of writing. One I've been working on is word choice. I always think about my word choice when I write. I like to do this so then my wording is too simple. I also want to use good transition words and vocabulary to make it sound more mature or something. I just don't want it to look like a grade three wrote it (no offence). In conclusion, even if I'm working on the word choice, doesn't mean I'm also working on the other traits simultaneously.

Self assessment: I should write a bit more and explain more about the 6 traits.

There are many traits for a lot things. One of them is for writing. There are six traits for writing. There are ideas, organization, word choice, voice, sentence fluency, and conventions. Personally, I’m really focused on a lot of them, although, one that I really am focused on is the word choice. I like to focus on my word choice because then my way of phrasing words doesn’t seem too simple and boring. I also want to have good volcabulary and transition words so then my writing is like more mature. Bottom line, I want my writing to not make it look like it’s been written by a grade three (no offence). In conclusion, even if I’m focused on word choice, doesn’t mean I don’t care about the other traits too.

What are the six traits of writing? The six traits of writing are things that you will find in any good paragraph, book or story. Things that I have being working on are the ideas and organization. For ideas I have being thinking what I will write about before I write. I organize by starting with the body end with the conclusion then go back to the top to do my hook. This helps me connect the hook with the body. This is how I use some of the six traits of writing

When we write a story we write the beginning which means how the story starts, the body is how the story is developed, and the end is how the story finish.Sentence fluency help us to read and understand the story that is been tell.

This is why the 6 writing traits are so important, they give us a very clear guideline on how to write well. They are: Voice, Ideas, Conventions, Sentence Fluency and Organization. Jobs are one of human kind most important values .because if scientist or engineers we would be unhealthy and probably living in a cave,but since we have jobs we don't have to suffer those horrible experiences.but we need on thing to help us do those jobs and it is called writing we need writing to work every job that is why the six writing traits help allot they give us a straight path to lead us to success the big six are ideas orginiazation voice word choice writing fluency that is what I learned today

I have been working on word choice and conventions, I sometimes make my PAR too repetitive in my daily PAR and in my revised verson I fix them. Also, If i didn's check my conventions in my revised version, My par would look dumb and that would reflect on me If i didnt fix them. Overall, I can work on word choice and conventions in my daily PAR.

Today, we learnt about the 6 traits of good writing. The traits are: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, fluency, and conventions.

In the daily PAR, one trait that we have already been working on is conventions. In case you haven't heard of that word before, conventions are basically capital letters, punctuation, and grammar. (So the stuff you learnt when you started writing.)

In conclusion, make sure to familiarize yourself with the 6 traits so you can make your writing the best it can be!

Writing is one of my favourite hobbies, despite the fact that I don't do it all too often. Typically, the reason why is because I'm unable to think of interesting purposes! That's why I'm trying to learn a lot about one of the 6 traits of writing - ideas.

Now, what are the 6 traits of writing, you may ask? As you would expect judging from the name, they are 6 ways to write efficiently and are required for any good piece of writing. They consist of ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. To be more specific, here's what they all mean: ideas are to interest the reader; organization for the paragraph structure and maintaining an easy-to-understand piece; voice for how an author's writing is worded in their own way; word choice for making words interesting and creative; sentence fluency means fluctuating between short and long sentences; conventions help with making an author's writing sound correct with punctuation, capitalizing letters at appropiate times, etc. I'm not too great with planning a plot or starting/ending off with creative wording, which is why I'm working on ideas!

That explains what the 6 traits of writing are. Hopefully this PAR has followed them; same with my others and yours too!

First let's talk about organization. Organization is important because if you put your conclusion in the beginning of your writing people will be confused! That is why the trait of organization is important.
Moving on to the next important trait every successful writer will have is ideas. This means getting creative with your thinking! You can find ideas that inspire you in books, songs and even people. Just like organization, it is important that you have that trait as a writer!
The next trait that a writer will possess is word choice! It is important because if you use the same words, the reader will fall asleep. That's why the trait of word choice is important for a writer.
Now we are going to move on to another important trait is voice. Having a voice is very important in writing, it shows your readers your personality in writing. The personality of each writer is different. That's what makes our writing, our writing!
Another trait that a writer will have, is sentence fluency. Sentence fluency is an important trait. If you had a sentence that didn't make sense, your reader will be extremely confused! So, having the trait of sentence fluency is important.
To sum up everything that has been said, those 6 writing traits is very important for a writer to have!

The 6 writing traits. Ideas which pull the reader. Organization which makes the structure of the paragraph like intro, body and conclusion. Voice which is pretty self explanatory. Sentence fluency is like the flow of the paragraph/sentence. Lastly there’s conventions. Which is mostly the GIVENS.

This is what I learned and found out today during our writing lesson. Hopefully you all payed attention and know what this is about. :)

One thing I am going to work on from the 6 traits of writing is fluency because some times I just write short sentences but I want to try to connect some of my sentences to make them better.

Recently, I have been working on organization through the daily PAR. "Paragraph format" will ALWAYS be in the criteria for every PAR, and though it may seem simple, it is very important. Organization is one of the biggest things that will help you achieve great writing. A well-organized paragraph includes an engaging introduction that hooks the reader and makes them want to keep reading. Then, it will have 2-3 examples or points in the body that support your topic. Lastly, it has a clincher or conclusion that briefly summarizes everything that you wrote about and reminds the reader of what they just read. Many people don't know about this and will put their introductions, conclusions, and supporting points in completely random places! Then when you're reading their writing, it gets very confusing. I hope this was helpful and that it won't happen to you. Good luck writing!

One of them is having a good intro. Without a good intro, your reader will not be very interested in what you want to say.

I also have been working on making good conclusions, meaning that they must be able to summarize what I have just said, in the same order of the thesis.

The six traits of good writing are really important and it's best to practice using them.

The 6 writing traits are the building blocks of writing a paragraph, which we have been working on in class. They are idea, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. However, we only did 2 in class together, organization and conventions. So today I will be explaining what I have been working on about the 6 writing traits.

Organization is very important in writing a paragraph. If I wrote my PAR with my intro at the end, do you think that would be a very good paragraph? NO! Because it just doesn't make sense and my reader will definitely be confused. This explains why organization is important, as organizing is important.

Next is Conventions. Did you know that without conventions, your reader will not understand a word you are saying? That's actually true, and I'll tell you why. Conventions is your spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. These all are there for your reader to better understand your paragraph, and are crucial for success.

Overall, I think the 6 writing traits are very important, and I look forard to learning more about them in the future!

Today I learned about the 6 traits of writing. The 6 traits of writing are ideas, organization, voice, sentence fluency, word choice, and conventions. Ideas means to interest or engage the reader with details. Organization is the structure which is intro, body, and conclusion. Voice is different because each author has different ideas. Sentence fluency is how long or short the sentence is. Word choice means to use words that are strong and interesting. Conventions means to use capitalization, periods, and commas to make your paragraph or book make sense.

I am working on ideas because I don't put lots of details on my sentences. another reason why I am working on ideas is because my intro and conclusions are not engaging or exiting.

These are the 6 writing traits and what I will be working on the whole year.

I have been working on conventions and word choice. I am having the most trouble with conventions, but I had a solution to my problem. I could simply review my work and check for errors.
I am certain that if we work hard and follow the rules for writing paragraphs, we can be amazing at this subject.

Writing is an awesome thing to do but if you don't know 6 traits of writing it will seem rather boring!

The first trait is ideas, the second trait is organization, the third one is voice, fourth is word choice, then sentence fluency, and lastly conventions.

I find the fifth trait which is sentence fluency hard. I don't want to use too many of the same words such as and and like. I really want to improve on those parts this year and really think par helps me improve my writing skills!!!
