Pablo Picasso Inspired Self-Portraits

Today, you all took home two handouts to explain to your parents how our new reporting system will look like this year. Please read it with them and explain it to them. If you have misplaced yours, you can download and print a copy here. If your parents have any questions, please have them email me directly. Please return all forms tomorrow. It is very important that your parents provide their email addresses to me on this form.

1.) MATH: Complete the Self-test handout if you didn't complete it in class today.

2.) LA: Work on your word work.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

Everyone should have spoken to the parents about FreshGrade and our class website. They should have signed and provided their email addresses on the handouts you took home today.
Post a message about how you think the class website and FreshGrade will help you learn this year.
What do your parents think about both of these forms of technology?
Give one student feedback on their spelling, capitals, and grammar.

The class website help us to communicate with classmates, since everyone goes on this anyways. The FreshGrade helps us learn by keeping us organized with our work that's been finished.

The class website is a good way to help people communicate between each other. For example, If you forgot homework you could ask someone for the homework. And FreshGrade helps teach us how to keep all our work organized that has been finished. So, I don't need to explain what work I did at school in fine details to my parents. Which saves me like 10 minutes.

I think Fresh Grade will help with keeping all our work organized that's been finished and it also saves our work in case we forget it our lost it. The class website is really useful for a fact, you can communicate, ask for help and your assignments are on there if you forget. My parents thought Fresh Grade is a nice way for my grades, try a new fresh start and they can look on how I'm doing on things that I'm not that good at or just to see if I'm improving on a daily basis. But since English is not their first language there will be some difficulties on how to use the app.

The class website is a good way to help others with homework and to communicate with everyone. FreshGrade is very useful because well first of all I don't have to explain to my parents every time in details of what work I did. Also keeps us organized with the works we have finished.

I think Fresh Grade is really useful and helpful because our parents can see what we are doing and how we are improving. It's a good way to stay organized. Also they can see if we are struggling somewhere and they can help. The class website is really good to help others and comunicate with basically everyone in the class. I think it willl be really useful especially for me.

I think freshgrades is a great way to communicate. When I'm telling ny parents about a test or something, I always have to directly talk to my parents. Which is terrifying... But freshgrades does it all for me so yah...
My parents think its great! The class website is also great because my parents can see the assignments I have to do that day.

I think FreshGrades is a good way to communicate so my parent and everyone know what I am doing all the time. Also if my mom sees me doing what I am not suppose to be doing, you can just post it on FreshGrades and show my parents. That way I wouldn't have to bring the photos or other stuff home. Our class website is a good idea so that Mr.Hong can show us what assignments we need to do online.

As well, our class website is a good idea, as we do not have to bring a large amount of textbooks home. This also works for other specific items such as a duo-tang, or a binder; we can just go online and ask other individuals for support!

I believe that Fresh Grade is a great opportunity to show our parents, our work for this year online. It is also a great replacement for a school report card as it gets updated every day. Using my thoughts on my comment previously, I believe It can help with our disadvantageous as our parents/teacher can see our stretches and strength everyday. Additionally, I find posting assignments online will help if we forgot our work at home.

I think our class website can really help me learn this year because we're allowed to ask school related questions, so if I ever need help I can get it.

I think Fresh Grade will also be helpful, because this way I won't have to tell my parents all the things I do each day, because they'll hopefully just be able to look at my Fresh Grade account. It also sounds really cool, a daily updating portfolio (wow!).

My mom is a Grade 8 teacher (fun fact :P)
so she has her own opinions about her favourite report card programs. She isn't upset but her reaction was *clears throat* I quote exactly: "Nah Jupiter Grades is better" and then laughter followed by "But Fresh Grades is fine". My dad is not a teacher, so he has no sense of report card programs, so when I asked him his opinion he simply said "Huh? Fresh Bread?". I think I will have to explain to him further.

i think fresh grade will some what help me and my parents
like so they wont ask me "oh you did a test? how did u do on it?" instead they can just read some stuff on fresh grade.
but that does mean they know EVERYTHING i do and will probably say stuff like " oh u should work more on your * insert some type of work that they think needs improvement*)"

our class website is super helpful
like dang!
if i dont know the word work words or need help on math then i can just ask meh classmates for help instead of not getting any sleep and thinking about the non finished work.
also the teacher can send feedback as well
plus the teacher also post daily and posts videos that can help answer unanswered questions like math (LCM, GCF )
