Good morning! Thank you to all parents who completed the district survey and the division 2 survey last week. The information you provided will allow us to plan accordingly. I will update you as I learn more. Your parents can email me directly with their questions and concerns. Remember, it is optional. If you and your family do not feel safe, this is your personal decision and I support whatever you choose.

Covid-19 has affected the class of 2020 and the whole school system. BC has started to flatten the curve, and managed to get out cases down to single digits. Because of this, the economy is starting to open up and allow certain things to happen. One of the things that is going to open back up, is school. Now of course, they are going to take safety precautions, as they made it optional if families do not feel comfortable with sending their kids, and having younger grades (k-5) attend 2-3 times a week, and older grades (6-7), attend once. These classes aren't full days, they are just a few hours. My family is not going to go back to school because my parents said they think we should wait a little longer for the virus to die down even more. They also want to take extra precautions because we live with our grandmother and we dont want to get her sick. In conclusion, The economy is coming back together and thay have decided to open up school. i will not be attending school because my parents think the virus is still out there and we need a little more time for the virus to die down even more.

I think for the return to school might be a bit too early, and I feel we are getting ahead of ourselves. I understand kids don't have a high chance of getting Coronavirus, but the adults and staff I am more worried about, no matter the safety measures, I still have some doubts. Until I see multiple Zero case days my family will minimize outdoor activities to an all-time low. Also if we all go back to school now, what will he use. We only have one month left, I see that as a waste of time. At least continue online learning for the whole year, then reconsider it in September. This would drastically affect kids' routines. And we may not be able to quickly adjust back to normal in-class learning. We have been doing online learning for 2 months. We should continue. I think the fact that if we see the return to school, that means more parents will be on the roads then ever before. Which will cause even more cases? Which will then collapse our economy? That is not what we want at all, so think we should just take it slow and move at a slower pace.

The school board decides we are returning to school on June 1st. Hooray! Excitement fills the air but the grim reaper is still patrolling. There is still a danger that Covid-19 is out there.

My parents think my brother and I should stay at home and not attend school. I feel like it is correct. After the curve flattens, we can't just return to our daily schedule. That's like saying, " The parachute is slowing our descend and we can take it off". I will not be returning back to school since I still believe it is not safe enough. I would prefer it for the curve to be completely be flattened, and then I would consider to go back to school. Even though the school is going to let small amounts of numbers inside, I still don't feel safe. The virus is invisible and it can be anywhere. Even for a few hours, some kids or teachers might walk out with Covid-19. Its simply not safe enough.

In conclusion, I will not be attending school, and I would prefer to continue the online classes. That way there is a near zero chance that I will get the virus.

The provincial governments are now allowing the school to open, many people might have mixed feelings about this. They might be happy because school is open again but sad because COVID-19 is still out there.

My parents don’t want me to return to school, and I think this is the best option. I don’t really feel safe outside and my parents think it would be better if we wait it out a little until the virus dies down. I saw this video on YouTube about an experiment to see how quickly COVID-19 can spread. A Japanese public broadcaster gave one person invisible fluorescent paint and that acted out the “germs”. A black light was able to show how far it went. Shockingly it was everywhere, the paint was on some peoples faces and on cups and clothes, it was unbelievable how fast it can travel. Even though the school will only let a small amount of students in, I would rather just stay home and continue remote learning and self isolate myself, it’s just not safe enough right now. When there are less cases maybe my parents might reconsider, but this is too soon.

In conclusion, I will still stay at home and not attend school and continue with online classes.

Covid19 has gone to show the world how fast our lives can change. this has included the closing of shops, parks, clubs and schools. although after being under lockdown for 2 months BC is finally starting phase 2 and that includes volenerally return to school, starting from June 1st. my parents and I have had dissuasions about what would be the best decision. my parents have decided that I am not going to be returning to school. this is because I already established an effective at home learning routine. in my opinion going back to school is not worth it. because its only 4 days in the whole month. I just thinks its a big hassle. although, im not sure if the return of school is a good idea I am happy that the government and teachers are doing there best to help make our learning easier. I think that in person learning is easier because the social aspect of school helps student learn. in conclusion, I think that even though everything is up in the air the BC government has so far been doing a good job.

Everyone's thrilled that schools opening soon, and personally I am to. Al thought everyone might not agree me, because some people might not want their child to go back to school because they fear that their child might get sick and some people want their child to go back to school so they could learn and ask questions/help. But, that's just some people. How about my parents? Well, my parents might want me to go to school, why you may ask? Well first of all, whenever you have a question and post it on teams. The teacher might not respond right away. (same goes for needing help) I had some questions and got stuck at some parts of our work. But, luckily my friends responded me and helped me understand it. Secondly, my parents are pretty busy at home, they won't have time to help me or give me feedback on any of my work. So, they want me to go back to school so I can properly learn or something. Lastly, my parent just want me to go to school, so I don't bother/interrupt their work at home.
In my opinion, going to school is fine for me. If everyone can social distance and wash their hands frequently, that's fine for me. When I get back to school, I'll try to do these and respect everyone's boundaries.

June 1st! It's not that long away. That is the day that we get to go back to school. the only thing is, we can only go for 1 day. My parents and I think that there isn't much point going. Mainly because its one day a week and there are only 4 weeks left. Also, I like hanging out with my friends and if I go back, I won't be able to touch or hug anyone. I have been hanging out with my friend and we were hugging. I haven't gotten sick or anything. when I go to school I am looking forward to seeing my friends and hanging out with them. I'm a people person, not a stay away from people person. I would like to go back to school, but I would also like to be with my friends.

In this tough time, our choices can mean life or death. (okay it's maybe not that dramatic) So should we go back to school or not? During this time the school board has decided to allow students to school in limited capacity, and only once per week. Today I'm going to be telling you if I'm going to be returning to school, and how do I feel about it.

I argree with the majority, because staying at home is safer, and we only have school for four times this month. So is it worth the risk? Staying home is safer, because you have a lower chance of getting the virus. For example if you go outside then you have a higher chance of getting the virus, because there are more people who could potentially carry it,. Where as if you stay at home it's just you and your family. Therefore lowering the risk. Another reason is I'm totally fine with online school, and it would take some time to get use to regular school. Finally we only spent four days a month at school so is it really worth it? Unfortunately I actually wanted to go to school before, and my mom filled the survey. So, I'm going back to school.

In conclusion this is why I think staying at home is the best way possible.

The government decided that this was the time for us to have a choice to go back to school. At first, I think it was ok to go back to school but after gathering more information about it, I decided there wasn’t much of a point. For instance, I listened to a lot of people’s opinions and news about the virus not being completed under control and it’s still pretty dangerous to go back to school even though we are sending fewer students to school at a time. Also, we are going to a school once a week for a month which basically just going back to school four times a month. That won’t help our learning much and waste quite a lot of time just being in the building. I think it’s better that we keep on continuing our remote learning.

In conclusion, I think we should go back to school when we are sure that the virus is under control and died down.

Covid-19 shut down our schools, but they will reopen soon. It will be a lot different though.

My parents think that I should stay home because "it's better to be safe then sorry." I agree with them. I personally think it would be a waste of time. Mostly because I wouldn't see most of my friends. Going to school would also take a while to adjust to. For example, you now have to be more aware of your surroundings because of social distancing.

That's my opinion about going to school. It may be different but we're all different right?

Covid 19 is influencing the world badly. This worldwide pandemic is killing lives, and making the whole world go crazy. And because of we need to keep a safe distance and stay home, school is cancelled till June 1st. Since it is almost June, we will have to go to school very soon. My parents encouraged me to go to school, because to be honest, I am pretty bored at home. I want to socialize and have fun! My parents also understood and allowed me to go to school. Everyday, they kept reminding me to, "Stay clean, have a safe distance between your friends," etc. Anyways, I am planning to go back to school in June.

Covid-19 a devastating virus that is keeping us in quarantine but on June 1st we are going back to school. Going back is a risk but my parents will allow me to go back and to be honest I want to go back but the stuff I can do with my friends is limited because of Covid-19 but its better than nothing and there will be lots of reminders to stay away from people and keep sanitizing regularly. In June some students will come back to school once every week until summer break. This is the first time we will be back in school since March. I am excited to go back to school and get out of the house.

My parents want me to go back to school so that I’m doing something and leaving the house more. I was scared at first but now I feel better about it knowing there will be safety. precautions and there won’t be too many students there. I think that because there are under ten students there and we can social distance in the classroom. Also since there are a lot of seats to social distance since we used to have thirty students and now we have around five. Another reason is that we have been inside for so long so going back once a week could be good for our mental health.

In conclusion I think that going back to school could be a good idea and I myself will be going back.

I have been washing my hands one I get home carrying hand sanitizer in public social distancing and wearing a mask. I do think that the number of cases will increase because some schools will have more students coming back and it will be harder to social distance.

June 1st, 2020. The day students are allowed to return to school. After several months of remote learning, we have a chance to return to school, with restrictions. It may seem exciting at first thought, however there are also many flaws to this.

The first major difference is that school will only occur once per week. To put that into perspective, that's 4 times a month, which isn't a lot. My initial thought was that it wasn't so bad. However, that's not considering all the risks of returning to school. If we do return to school, even in limited numbers, there's a chance we can still get COVID-19. Considering the fact we'll only attend school once per week, and still have a chance of getting COVID-19, is quite unreasonable. For instance, if I returned back to school, I now am at risk for COVID-19, as well as my family who live with me. Although I may not be as vulnerable as a senior person, I still can risk passing it to my more vulnerable family.
According to globalnews.ca, the pandemic is slowing down, however I think they're still opening schools too soon. It's possible that the numbers may rise up again. I believe the pandemic is too new, so I'd rather wait until there is more informations about it.

Overall, I think the schools are being opened too quickly. Furthermore, it is quite pointless since we are only attending school 4 times a month.

I think a good time to repoen schools would be when we have more information on the virus, or when the cases have calmed down significantly.
Personally, I don't think there is a point in going back to school now. Considering that we only go 4 times per month, it is practically useless. It would be much more practical and safe to stay at home.

Looking at the number of replies on Microsoft Teams, one out of every five students are returning to school. In case you didn't notice, this's much less than half our class. Furthermore, if we go to school once a week, that's only four days in total, then school ends for the year. In addition to this, according to www.canada.ca, wearing masks is completely optional, if you catch my drift. To sum up, I don't see the point in returning to school, which is why I'm choosing to stay home.

(Just a disclaimer, this is my opinion. Your family makes their choices for good reasons. There are also positives to returning to school, but that wasn't the focus of my PAR.)

Although, it was very well written, I think if you added other peoples opinions to your PAR. For example talking about what others think and compare them to your own thinking. That would seem to improve it in some way.

The first day of June, the month where parents have the option of sending their child to school. For me, I would really like to school because I have been staying at home for almost two and a half months. But my mom told me that I will not be going back to school. Dad didn't say anything and my mom didn't tell me why I'm not going back. I think the reason is because she wants to prevent another 'wave' coming. A few people say that B.C has been doing a great job, I agree but that doesn't mean we can let down our guard. We still need to do all the things to prevent the virus from spreading. In my opinion, I think I should go back to school because there are only four days to see a few of my classmates. I also want to step outside of my neighbourhood and start running.

Are we already going back to school? To be honest, I didn’t expect to be returning to school until September. After many months of online learning, I’m finally starting to get used to it.

I have mixed feelings about going back to school. On the one hand, I get to see my friends, classmates, and teachers. On the other hand, it’s only once a week and not a full day.
I don’t really have a choice of going back to school because my parents have to work and they cant drive me. My parents also don’t see the point of going back to school. I also have swimming every day from 10:30-12 so I wouldn’t be able to attend anyway. I honestly enjoy online school and I don’t mind it. It gives me a lot of freedom with my time and its also letting me pick up many new hobbies.

In conclusion, I will not be going back to school because I don’t have a choice. Even if I wanted to, it would be too much trouble for both my family and me.

I do like how you elaborated on how you feel it would be if we didn't go back to school and how you are just starting to feel better about your work from home. And I think that's a great detail to add. But to make it more detailed try and add a example as to how the time at home you mentioned has open some new windows for you. Tell us what has been added to your day, and whats different or that has changed since the start of online learning. Overall, good one.

Apparently we'll be going back to school in June, and this wasn't what I expected. It all seems a bit too....fast. The virus is still at large, so I think we should slow down. I'm not going back since my mom also doesn't see why, as we're only going back once every week and only a small handfull of people are going back.

According to the government of British Columbia, It is now safe for school to resume in june which is probably a good thing. Coronavirus seems to be calming down a bit at least in Bc or until wave 2 hits and kills everyone. I do feel like opening up the country is absolutely necessary or else the economy will literally kill itself. I will be going back as i am absolutely done with quarantine. Once a week seems kind of stupid and a step backwards but thats just how the government is. I do understand why many choose not to attend as school is boring and the risk of death because some kid sneezed on you increases. this can be reduced with hand washing and a good mask. However some people aren't willing to invest in a soviet surplus gas mask for like 30 dollars and some hand sanitizer.
In conclusion i am going back to school as I am willing to take the small risk of death as i cant stand online school.

Because of Covid-19, all of us have been taking online school. But now we'll be going back to school on June. I was very surprised at this news because I thought the virus would go on for at least another year and it seems shocking that we're starting to slowly revert to live before lockdown. There are rumors of a second wave, and going to school might make the situation worse. My family and I think that going back once a week will not be much different from online school anyways. Even though I miss my friends, I think it's better to stay home.

The coronavirus are still continuing, and school will reopened in June, and my parents thinks that it's does not matter since now it looks like its fine to if we do be careful, so i could accept to go back. For younger kids like kindergarten will have class twice a week and the grade 6-7 will have class one a week. My family think it is too early for kids to go to school because they think it is still not safe in Canada. I think it is good for schools opening because for the grade 7 student they need to prepare for high school and ones a week is not a big deal so I think maybe is good for student to go to school.

Covid 19 as been around for quite sometime now and I think we can all agree that staying home for over two months is boring. Although Covid 19 cases are slowing down, I don't think really think that we should be so preemptive about going back to school. Some places like the U.K opened up schools again and experience a second wave of coronavirus case. Learning from other countries mistakes, I think we should wait until the next school year before going back to school. This is why my parent and I don't think I should go to school

It's hard to believe that we have all been out of in class school for over 2 months! It is very exciting that BC has successfully flattened the curve and that our medical system hasn't been too overwhelmed. I think that the biggest benefit of going back to school this late in the year is to see your friends and to have social contact! However, it seems like a lot of work for the teachers to only have us back for 4 days while also having to keep virtual school going. My parents will be keeping me home except for maybe one or two of the possible days as I would like to see my friends. Hopefully things are back to normal in September.
