Fancy Dance

This morning, students were introduced to reading strategies (The Novel Approach) that have been proven by researchers to improve comprehension of text. In the afternoon, students co-created criteria for their dance unit and for their 'ALL ABOUT ME' collages. This will help make the learning 'VISIBLE' for the students and parents. All assessments will be uploaded to FreshGrade once we have it up and running. FreshGrade and our class website will give parents and students a window into our classroom. The learning intentions for all assignments will be very clear and explicitly taught to students. If you didn't complete the Gmail Account info yesterday, go back and compete it.

1.) MATH: Booklets #1 and 2 are due tomorrow. They should be marked and corrected.

2.) ART: Bring any pictures, drawings, and magazines you wish to use for your 'ALL ABOUT ME' collages.

3.) LA: Continue working on your word work and study for Friday's quiz.

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today one of the most important learning Intentions for our science project is: I can work cooperate with a group to reach a common goal.
Make a C-chart for COLLABORATIVE GROUP WORK. Be sure to include a side for both students and teachers.
Think about what you will have to be able to do in order to keep all groups members happy and to complete the project well and on time.
Try to keep the language as positive as possible and avoid using words like don't or never.
Give 2 students 1 suggestion each for their C-Chart.
Edit/revise your original post based on the givens (spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, etc).

This is what I will update it with. I’m currently away from a computer and can’t update it properly.

• Get materials needed for the project.
• Make sure you include everyone, make sure they don't feel left out.

@Spencer, in the students section you put that you should divide the workload by everybody’s strengths and interests. Is there another way you can rephrase that? I’m saying this because some people might say “oh I’m not interested in this.” Or “I’m not good at this, so I don’t want to work on anything.” So maybe you could say divide the work evenly. So that it’s fair to everybody. Otherwise good job!

@Kaelyn, I noticed that in the students section you put “use big 6 learning principles.” I think that maybe you could put “use THE big 6 learning principles.” Or something along the lines of that. Also, in the teachers section you put “give positive feedback” and “give constructive criticism.” Maybe you can put “give descriptive feedback.” Rather than two things that are practically the same. (Not really but you get what I mean...)
