Snail Eggs

Today, we reviewed for the math assessment tomorrow. You wrote down everything that you need to know for tomorrow and you wrote down examples. I have posted the 4 math videos from Friday here. Please review them at your leisure. Complete your review questions on the handouts and mark them at home with the answer key. If you forgot to pick up the answer key for the review questions, scroll down to the math section and you can download the answer keys and the questions.

What do you find the easiest to calculate?
What do you find the most challenging?

My response:

I find that calculating multiples is the easiest. And for the most challenging, I guess I'd say Prime numbers is the most challenging. That is mainly because I can't exactly remember a whole lot of the prime numbers. So I think trying to remember a lot of prime numbers would be the area I want to work in.

well,the easiest is factor trees,because well I don't want to be a bragger but I'm a pro at that. The thing I'm stuck on is memorizing all the divisibility rules because I HAVE A HORRIBLE MEMORY!!!!!!And then....
Mr Hong: Well Kevin, I'm both proud and disappointed in you. First I want to congratulate on how WELL you done on memorizing your divisibility rules! BUT, you FLUNKED your factor trees KEVIN!!!!! I find GCF and LCM really easy to calculate.

The most challenging to calculate is prime numbers for me because there are a lot of prime numbers and it's really hard for me to know them all.

I think remembering prime numbers would really be the one I'd like to work on.

I find calculating the multiples are the easiest. Why? Because I can just keep on adding the number and so on. I think calculating what is prime number and what is not prime number is the hardest. It is really hard for me to know if it is prime or not so I need to keep working on my divisibility rules.

To begin with my comment, I would like to answer the questions by top to down order.

1) "What do you find the easiest to calculate?" To answer that, I find calculating lcf and gcf are the easiest. Don't get me wrong though, I find them all easily (not to brag!) but I find this the easiest.

2) "What do you find the most challenging?" To be honest, I find doing primes somewhat challenging for the rest. If you assume that a number is prime, you always have this weird feeling in your body that just tells you it's not correct. Additionally, 3-digit-prime-numbers are difficult, as most prime numbers end up being a number which is usually divisible by a number greater than 10 and dividing by two digit numbers is somewhat annoying.

3)"What area do you feel you could improve in?" Hmmmm... To put it in my perspective, I may need to improve towards prime factors. A lot of seemingly prime numbers are actually divisible by numbers that are large.

I find calculating multiples is the easiest, you just have to add on the same number.
Hardest thing I find is prime numbers, there are so many and if I'm not sure I have to divide the number by all the possibilities. Until then I know if it's a prime number or not.
I think I need to improve on prime numbers. In a worksheet I thought 2 numbers were prime but they weren't.

The easiest thing for me would be finding the primes. The most challenging part for me would be finding the LCM for the bigger numbers. I feel like I could improve on finding the LCM for the bigger numbers. Once I do improve I will not have a problem with anything.

This is my tip btw:
To find the LCM of bigger numbers faster you can work on your memorization of the division table

For me calculating multiples is the easiest. The most challenging is finding prime numbers. Since there’s a lot of prime numbers it’s hard to find them especially with big numbers. One thing I want to improve on is on prime numbers and to remember more of them.

I feel the easiest thing to calculate is factors. The challenging part for me is finding the LCM/GCF of 2 numbers. That is also the thing I want to improve on.

I think all of them are very easy because in China math is way harder and I learned all of these when I was in grade four.(I kind of forgotten them)So none are challenging ,but GCF and LCM are the easiest for me because I know how to do the upside down dividing one which is super fast and easy.

I think the easiest for me to do is GCF and LCM. Its because i learned it a long time ago so i guess im used to it. The hardest for me is.... I guess Prime factorization because I always forgot the double digit prime numbers... Yah..

It is really hard to tell if it is a prime number or not. Especially with the the bigger numbers.

before i start the picture with the snail eggs are from my group.
Not to brag or anything..
i think the easiest would be LCM and GCF
the most challenging is finding finding prime numbers and the thing i want to improve on is welp finding prime numbers
because finding them is hard for me. Ya know the big numbers

To me, I feel like the factor trees are the easiest because you're just breaking down the biggest number to find the primes. It is sort of difficult though when the number is large and you don't know if it's prime or not.
I think finding the LCM for big numbers is difficult.
I definitely think I need to improve on finding the LCM. There are other things (I think), but I'm pretty sure I need to work on the LCM problem first.

Personally I find calculating the LCM and GCF the easiest, and divisibility rules the hardest (Memorization is not my strong suit, unfortunately). I'd like to improve on being able to identify prime numbers so that I can calculate prime factorization fast. I'd also like to improve my divisibility rules, as doing so will also make a lot of things easier.

Honestly, I feel like when Im doing divisibility rules, I do very well because I pretty much remembered all. (I think I know seven too?) The hardest is LCM and GCF for me. I always misread LCF and LCM or its the other way around. I also forgot how to calcualte it... I had trouble on the sheet Mr. Hong gave us... I think I should and could improve on LCF and GCM because it should be useful in the future. I also find prime factorization, not hard, but very annoying because of all of the thinking :'D
