- You have recently completed your first powerful response (big idea) for When I was Eight.
- Choose any book you have read and write a brief 'BIG IDEA' paragraph using the criteria below. (1 paragraph only)
- LEARNING INTENTIONS: I can identify the big idea of a book I read this year. (Can be one of the read aloud books)
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) PARAGRAPH FORMAT: intro/body/conclusion
2.) BODY:
- Must include some supporting evidence from the story (something from the story that supports your big idea)
- Must include at least one deep connection (text to text, text to self, and text to world)
3.) GIVENS/CONVENTIONS: Spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation.
4.) SELF-ASSESSMENT: Complete your self assessment based on the criteria.
5.) PEER-ASSESSMENT: Give at least one student peer feedback based on the above criteria.
6.) REVISION: Post your revised paragraph.
