Today, students wore orange shirts in support of 'ORANGE SHIRT DAY'. We discussed some of Canada's history, residential schools, and reconciliation. All countries have things we are not proud of and for our government to acknowledge these wrongs is a step in the right direction, however, we still have much work to do in this area. We will continue learning about indigenous cultures within each and every subject area this year. Learning about Canada's history helps us understand our past.
