Today, students had an art lesson on Action Splatter Painting. More specifically, a lesson on Jackson Pollock. They learned about who he was and where he came from. They also learned about his most influential work and a little bit about how he created his artwork and how influential he was with his paintings. Later, students learned about math language. They learned about fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers. They connected this to the fraction song and dance! It is going to go viral! In the afternoon, they dove a little deeper with robotics and coding. They learned about pause codes and connected their assignment to what they learned about habitats. We learned a little bit about rabbit behaviours in the wild today and used the colour codes to create an Ozobot that acted as if it were a rabbit in the wild. Click here for Ozobot reference codes.

Have you ever wondered who created Jack the Dripper? In museums, you'll see splattered art. Well, he's Jackson Pollick, a well-known great artist from the 1940s and 1950s! This art is used by Jackson Pollick to depict emotions and movements. He splashes them on a canvas with tough brushes, household objects, strings, and sticks, which is considered a unique art technique of painting. He was born on January 28, 1912, and went to an irascibles painting school in New York. He had four siblings: Charles Pollock, Stella May Pollock, LeRoy Pollock, and Lee Kranser (not exactly his sibling). Jackson's most famous painting was, and continues to be a well known painting. There were various meanings behind his paintings as well, for example, one reflects original bodies of work from the previous century, it depicts life force in nature, and it portrays apprehensive, anxiety, and despair emotions. He used brighter colours before when expressing his art form, but over time, people noted that he began to employ darker colours, such as black and white. He died in an car accident while being under alcohol in the summer of 1956, at the age of 44. His art price climbs after his death, from roughly 12 million to 18 million dollars or more. Even now, he is a very well-known artist.

As time continues, he quits using lighter colours and uses darker colours. Many of his paintings were about Jackson Pollock’s feelings and expressions. When more people kept on buying his art, his painting level decreased because a sad news happened that he died from a car accident at 1956 April 11 and his remaining art that has not been sold has been kept in the metro politician art museum in New York and many other famous painting museums in the world. Compared to other popular techniques at that time, this style was unique because it expressed a person's emotions and thoughts through unrealistic/abstract shapes. However, Jackson made this style of painting even more unique by laying his canvases on the floor and moving all around his art pieces when painting. Because of this technique, you can see where his arm moved while he was working. Since he was young, Jackson Pollock had influential people who helped him find and follow his passion for art. His mom and his oldest brother, Charles, were both passionate about art, so they could have contributed to his large ambition. When Jackson moved to Los Angeles, he found his passion for art while attending the Manual Arts High School. After learning from and meeting great artists for many years, he became very successful between the years 1947 and 1950. In 1949, Jackson was even the highest-paid painter in America. This period was called the "drip period" because his technique included dripping paint onto the canvas. Unfortunately, after this period, Jackson became depressed and started painting in black and white, instead of his usual bright colours. His life was starting to go downhill from here. Jackson Pollock was one of the famous artists in the world. He wasn't like any other artist, he had his own ways and methods for creating beautiful paintings. He also had a very fascinating way of expressing his feelings and emotions just like our zones of regulation in class. During the "Drip Period", Jackson Pollock created a painting method called the "action splatter" painting method. This method was a way to express your feelings by splattering paint across a giant canvas based on your feelings. Jackson used darker colours the more he was in the blue or red zone since he could've been sad or unamused by something that had happened to him. Pollock passed away on April 11, 1956 by a car crash. He may have passed but we in the future still appreciate his art and creativity!

Ever heard of the term "action painting"? Well, if you have, you'll know that Jackson Pollock was one of the most famous American painters, known for his action paintings. He used techniques like splatter and drip and many other materials to make his abstract paintings. What are some interesting things about Jackson Pollock? First of all, Jackson was born in Cody, Wyoming in 1912, the youngest of 5 brothers. In 1928 Pollock moved to Los Angeles, where he attended Manual Arts High School, where he was expelled. After this, in 1930, following his brother Charles Pollock, Pollock moved to New York City where they both studied under Thomas Hart Benton at the Art Students League of New York. During the "drip period", (1947-1950) Pollock created some of his best works. He used different tools, including nails, string, brushes, spoons and more. In 1949, Pollock was na Unfortunately, med as the "highest-paid American painter". This, however, got to his head, and Jackson became snobby and rude after receiving all the fame. Furthermore, at the peak of his fame, Pollock abruptly abandoned the drip style and opted for a darker style in 1951. Pollock died at age 44 in an alcohol related car accident on April 11, 1956. His most famous painting was made during the drip period, between 1947 and 1950. In 1949, he became the best-paid painter in America. Pollock's painting is usually large, he would lay it out on the floor so that he can walk on four sides to paint it. Today, division 1 learned something about Jackson Pollock. Who is Jackson Pollock? He was an American painter in the United States of America. He was born in( January 28, 1912 in Wyoming U.S) Jackson has 1 brother he is the youngest on their family. His oldest brother named Charles Pollock. His brother raised him; his brother was a father figure. Their dad left them so his brother raised him instead. They moved from Wyoming to Los Angeles and moved to Arizona. In the year of 1930's they moved to New York city with his brother. He started studying art with his brother. His art is inspirational because all the colours he drip on his painting has a meaning it's not like he just splatter the paint randomly. In his paintings he uses his expression how he feel that day to make a beautiful art. He uses huge canvases to paint. But sadly Jackson Pollock passed away on August 1, !956 at the age of 44 years old. Cause of his death was a car crash in New York city. But all of his paintings are all in museums around the world. One of his drip paintings is in the museum in Vancouver. But i'm not really sure if its still there.

Jackson Pollock is a famous abstract artist, a really famous one. Jackson Pollock is the one that invented splatter painting. Splatter painting is where you have a huge canvas and you splatter paint and other stuff on it. Jackson was born in January 28th 1912. He started liking art because his mother, really liked art. But everything became bad news for Jackson in 1949, people did not think splatter art really required skill, and he became depressed through out those years. However, there's one painter who created a whole new style of painting during the 20th century: Jackson Pollock. He was born in Wyoming in 1912, as the youngest of five brothers. His mother was also a very artsy woman, and her passion of painting grew on her sons. In 1928, Jackson and his family moved to Los Angeles, where Jackson went to school at the Manual Arts High School. In 1930, Jackson and his brother Charles, who also loved to paint, moved to New York to study the art of painting. In 1945, Jackson Pollock married a woman of the name Lee Krasner, who was also a painter, he moved to Long Island. A few years later, he began his fame, which was due to Pollock's creation of the "drip period." He painted by tossing paint straight onto the canvas. He used a variety of tools to create his paintings, from string, to small metal bolts. Jackson Pollock put a diverse amount of colours onto his canvas', each colour representing his emotions. Unfortunately, with his fame, Pollock came to be over-confident, and looked down upon other artists, assuming that he was the superior artist. However, in the early 1950's Pollock began painting in shades of black, white, and grey, which turned out to be a failed design. In 1956, at the age of 44, Jackson Pollock died in a car accident due to drunk driving. That was the end of his legacy, but there are other artists to carry his style with them. To conclude, some interesting things that we learned about Jackson Pollock were that he brought out a popularity for a new style of painting; "splatter," or "drip" painting, he received his passion for painting from his mother, and he, most likely as many other popular artists might have done, looked down on others due to all of him fame. Painting is a wondrous thing. Art in general is, really. Drawing, painting, music, they all have a unique style and beauty to them that you cannot replicate without art.
