Shot Put

Today, we started the day off by learning 3 different shot putting techniques. Students learned the importance of their stance, the push off, and the moment they release the shot put. Combining all three things proved to be challenging. However, with some descriptive feedback, students were able to improve their shot putting form/technique. Later, students reviewed the past year of learning on FreshGrade and completed a self-assessment of their abilities. We will meet later this week to have 1-on-1 conferences for the end of the year.

IMPORTANT: Many of you have note yet paid for your Granville island field trip. Have your parents go online to update your fees. Thanks in advance!

"Did you know that the computer over there might know more about you than you do yourself? For the second time, we learned more about digital citizenship and how to protect yourself online. But this time, it was more centralized around our digital dossier, also known as our digital footprint.

What is a digital dossier? Well, it's just a collection of information on you that can be found through social media, emails, google searches and so on. This starts before you're even born and goes on until after you die. I never knew that, and it makes me curious to find out how much of me actually can be searched up online. Secondly, your digital dossier can be sold to places. this is very frightening because then somebody else will know all of your personal information. Lastly, your digital dossier isn't always deleted just because you delete something.

As for digital citizenship, this is quite important since there are always consequences if something really bad happens. For example, cyber bullying is a ways of not being a good digital citizen. You must pretend that the digital world is basically the real world as well, and bullying online is the same as in real life. Also, if you download any music or movies, it is against the law. Why? It is the same as stealing somebody else's work and therefore taking the thing that they worked hard on. In real life you wouldn't steal anything (probably) so why keep doing it? Pay for that item to let the creator know you appreciate it. Another way of not being a good citizen is to share things with others without the correct permission. If you don't have that permission, then posting or sharing that item may bring negative outcomes.

In conclusion, there is still a lot that we don't know about our digital footprint, citizenship online, and awareness around social media. However, the more we learn, the more we will understand, like what we did today.

Today Mr.Hong had a talk to both classes on something very important called digital citizenship, when I hard those words the first thing I thought was respecting technology but later on I came to realize is more about being a good citizen. some interesting facts about something called your digital footprint(a digital footprint is like a file with everything you've done on technology) is that for kids like us our footprint starts from the second we are born whether that is taking a photo of your child and putting it on social media or sending some photos of your child. something that shocked me was when i found out that our phones some applications can really listen into our conversations, Mr.Hong told a story about when he was talking to someone about massage chairs and all of sudden he was seeing ads for massage chairs. It can be really scary having technology around because we don't know the full power of it.

"The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow. " this was said by teh famous Bill Gates. I'm sure we've all heard about teh internet before; it is a place of knowledge, fun, and relaxation. The internet is significant to all of us, it's also very useful. We all hear good comments about the internet but have you realize the horrible and terrifying events that happen behind the scene. For example, they get all your information and sell them to other people that you definitely don't know. They're not used for bad stuff but it's still invading your privacy, but there are people using them for bad things it's just very rare. The internet is very big so there are a lot of different people on there so don't get tricked and be on your highest alert. Furthermore, in today's lesson, we learned about a digital dossier.

moreover, you might be asking, "well what is a digital dossier?" It's a collection of info online relating to you that is recorded through your search history. This starts before you even have the consciousness that you are alive and even continues after your death. In simpler words it never ending, unless teh people who remember you are all wiped off this earth. To be honest, this is a very surprising fact and I was never exposed to this until now. I am jubilant that I can now acknowledge this fact. secondly, I learned that people are buying your info than using it find out more about you. It disgusting and surprising of these people. Thirdly, there is a thing called a digital footprint, it's something that can never be deleted no matter how hard you try.

One thing I learned about my digital footprint is it's basically impossible to erase. Another thing I learned is that my digital folder keeps expanding, even before i'm born and even after I die, and if I have kids that cycle is going to repeat again. The last thing I learned is there's always people trying to get your information so you should always check the link first.

"Think before you click!" As the saying goes, it literally means THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK!

Thinking before you click is all part of becoming a excellent digital citizen. "What? Nani? Are you speaking English?" Don't worry being a digital citizen is being a polite and courteous human, not autonomous computer software. Don't do anything online that you would do to someone in person.

First, let's start by talking about your DIGITAL FOOTPRINT. Your Digital Footprint (DP for short) is like a history of where you are. It cannot be erased, and therefore is permanent. So don't do any funny business! Your DP tells websites where you've been and what you've been researching, as well as what you posted on, say, Instagram. The police can also use your DP to bust you for crimes you thought you got away with.

Secondly, let's talk about your DIGITAL DOSSIER. Your DD is like a huge file folder, only virtual, that keeps every single byte (no pun intended) of information of you. It starts before you were born and continues on forever, even after you die. To simplify, it can never be erased unless Thanos snaps twice, disintegrating every human from the face of Earth.

Finally, we shall discuss you private information. Number one rule: do not divulge your personal information to other random strangers you do not know! People use your personal information and sell it to other agencies. People are buying your info than using it find out more about you, such as hacking, stealing your credit card number. Some even share your information with the government. (HUAWEI).

In conclusion, "Think before you click!" and be a good digital citizen!

A couple of things I learned about today was that even after you were born, the whole internet already knows when you were born and also your whole childhood. Another thing I did not know was the location tracking, I did not know that everywhere you go, there could be something keeping your location and sharing it to others like in Snap Map. The last thing I did not know about was having a Digital Dossier. In conclusion, you should always be careful wherever you go because you have no idea of what's capturing your every move.

Today, we had a new lesson, digital citizenship, even though we already learned the digital citizenship, we learned more about digital citizenship, We watched a few videos and had a class discussion and period to let Mr.Hong answers our questions. After this lesson, I know how to text others online recently while being safe.

First of all, what is citizenship? Why do we have to learn that? Being the best digital citizen in the community includes having email etiquette, reporting and preventing cyberbullying, learning how to protect private information. It's essential to have good digital citizenship because a digital citizen refers to a person information technology to engage in society, politics, and government. The thing that I have learned today is that we have to be careful signing up our address and personal information; you might think there's nothing dangerous to sign up our email. However, it is, if we sign up our email for the website that you are not familiar with.
Moreover, it's not the right website that you want to go into; you give the site your email address, you move one step closer to the danger. The scammer can use the information rob your credit card, and in the meanwhile, they know where you live. SO keep that in mind, don't give others personal information.

Make the social media account private is also very important if your account is publishment, and any person can see your post, everyone can add you without your permission. We all have to check our online security to make sure that our online security is at the highest level. Even though people can still search you up, but there's less chance to let them see your post and they rob your bank. I think the big issue that some people don't use their Instagram account is because they know how dangerous it is.

For summing up, we all have to be knowing digital citizenship, so that we can take care of ourselves better while having fun online.

Internet and technology have become the most convenient tools we use for researching nowadays. It develops at an incredible speed that sometimes we can’t control it.

During today’s Digital Citizenship lesson, we have discussed and learned the significance of being a good citizen while accessing the internet. I never knew there would be a personal digital dossier that records all our actions from the time we were born and keeps going with furthermore observations. It definitely sounds scary when you first heard it. However, that’s the reason why we should behave as a part of the good citizens.

In order to do that, I’m coming to understand that I should always think before I post anything since it never gets erase from the moment you pressed the post button. Furthermore, we should make all our accounts and settings as private as possible, for it is related to your own safety. Last but not least, we should take a moment and consider what we’re sending to one another on social media. I found this extremely important and how much we could affect each other by commenting on them with positive words, or even negative words. We always stay positive and look on the brighter side.

All in all, we should be extra careful while working online, we should behave like a good citizen.

We all know the rules and how to be safe on the school playground, but how about the digital playground? Do you know how to be a good digital citizenship? Today, we learned about how to leave a good digital footprint online and why that may be important. In this modern world where technology and the Internet have grown to such extent, it is important and necessary for us to know these things.

Here are some tips to knowing how to have a good digital dossier. First, you should always think before posting or sharing. Think about if that will represent you correctly and if you would want others to see what you send. Don’t wait until after you send to press that delete button because it might as well be permanent. Second, make sure you have the right privacy settings on for your apps and softwares. These apps will be able to sometimes use your information for other purposes like marketing, investigation, or even advertising. If you are using social media, make sure you have the appropriate things on there. If you want something personal, turn your account onto private and make sure you know who your followers are.

Why is this important, you might ask? Well, something you might not mind sharing now may not be the same in the future. If someone were to be able to search up this information about you, you might want to consider what you put online. You might be losing a job or scholarship because of these small details that you ignored. People aren’t very aware of what they are doing online and think that they have an invisible mask or barrier to protect them. They think they’ll never be found. Even if they did something by accident, they can just delete it. But no, whatever you “deleted” may be stored behind the screens and in the cache. Even worse, you may be in danger sometimes if you’re easily tracked upon.

In the end, this is my advice and reasons why you should leave a good digital footprint. I think that this is a very important topic to touch upon because this will affect us in the future a lot. Don’t start being aware of these things in the future because you might realize then that it’ll be too late.

Today, we watched videos on digital citizenship and learned a lot of things from them. Digital citizenship is that you behave the same as you do normally online because there might be consequences. Dossier is basically the footprint you leave behind when you, search something, post something, anytime or anywhere. It is very scary thing, being tracked, and you probably want it gone.

It's good for being a citizenship, because of various reasons. First of all, you can get in trouble for who can see what you are doing or knows what you are doing. Also, you can feel embarrassed and feel like you will be caught. Lastly is the most biggest one, the digital footprints. if you do something bad, your footprints will still be there no matter if you delete it or not.

Three things that I learned is that you get your dossier even before you are born, as your family might of sent photos of you before you are born. Another thing I learned is that your information is sold to random places to advertise for you. Lastly I learned is that places that take your Gmail also take your information.

Overall this was a very important lesson to have good citizen ship online and I learned a lot of things.

I think that being a good citizen or even a good citizen is important because whatever you post staying on the internet. I learned lot about digital dossier is that you digital dossier started before you are born. In conclusion, I enjoyed learning more about digital citizenship.

Today we watched a video and learned about Digital Citizenship and our "Digital Dossier", being cautious with use of the internet. Although the internet may seem harmless and simple, not many of us are aware of what dark secrets it hides.

Being a good digital citizen is important, and you must be aware of where you leave your footprints in the digital world, or it will have many negative consequences. Doing anything against the digital law could get you into just as much trouble as breaking the laws in the real world, including being sent to prison. It will definitely effect your reputation online and in the real world too, so whatever you do, be cautious of where you leave your footprints. Everything you do on the internet or is posted there is kept in an invisible digital dossier where companies like google have all your background info. This then gets sold to other companies, and they will get your information about your birth, if it was posted on social media, and even all your search history.

We all learned something important today: and that is to be cautious of what you do on the internet, and to keep your reputation online healthy.

It’s important to understand unethical behavior and its impact for all of us. But this goes double for us since we use technology for research, homeworkwork, and entertainment every day. Also we were still under our parents control so what we do may inflict them, which will cause us in big trouble. Things that might get us into trouble can be not knowing what have copyright which we learned and kid of surprise me. In today I learn that we can be in jail and paid a lot of bills from the company that made them. Another creepy thing I learned today is digital footprint, I learn that we can have it even if we are not born. In the video Mr.Hong show us today there is a person called Andy who was about to say hello to the earth and his life, and apparently his parents got very excited and take the ultrasound. Send it to close relatives, and boom there is his first digital footprint and he is not even born yet. So, of course as he leaves more footprint as he gets older. And eventually he went somewhere else far off earth, but that doesn't mean that he won’t leave any more digital footprint. Instead he will still leave some from the R.I.P pose for him, so that is a lot of footprint that he has been leaving. I also learn that credit card or other company can sell our personal info. What we like so they can have a better idea how to promate us stuff. Which seem to work out good, but still that is wong.
In conclusion I learn about digital citizen a lot today, and I am starting to look diffrently about internet after today.

One of the biggest learning goals for all the grade seven students of this year, was to learn about how we as people affect our own lives and safety with our online behavior. We began by learning about being respectful on the internet, and how to make sure we do not harm others or ourselves with inappropriate behavior. We then began learning about our 'Digital Footprint', a Digital Footprint is the history of our activity online, and it is being monitored or recorded at all times. We learned to make sure we only visit secure and reliable websites, so our info is not stolen and sold. Recently, a presenter visited our school to talk to us about Digital Citizenship, and he taught us about things such as meta data, and how easy it is for our locations to be disclosed. Today we discussed all of these things, and we watched two videos talking about our Digital Footprint. With all of these things it is very important for us to be respectful, and use the internet appropriately.

One of the biggest reasons for this is the fact that you are being recorded at every moment, be it by your phone, or by doctors, or even the ears of others. Your info about who you are can be very easily disclosed to others, and websites can easily track your location, depending on the amount of info you provide to the website. Certain companies and websites will ask for info, one of the biggest reasons is to sell the information that you provide. I had recently made an account on a very popular streaming and texting program, when I made my account, I did lie about certain pieces about info, but quite a lot was true, when I finished my brother has noticed and quickly notified me that it sells the info you provide, I was lucky to not fill in certain areas, or I would be very unsafe. What you do online is also being recorded, on your device you have something known as an IP address. An IP address is simply the address of your specific device, and it can be used for tracking, and for servers. If you wish to know your own IP address, it can be easily looked up on google. This means that google is already aware of the IP address of your device, and certain websites can track your device by using the IP address. With all these facts, you must be aware of the websites you visit, and what type of info you are providing.

Another large area of Digital Citizenship is how you act. Anything you say online, or anything you post on social media, can be viewed by almost everyone. It is important to keep your accounts as private as possible, and it is also important to make sure you do not post anything inappropriate. Many people have lost scholarships, or entire companies, because of a small weed joke they might have made. Anything you do on the internet will reflect on who you are, if you regularly post very rude and inappropriate things on Facebook, yet you are a kind and compassionate student at school, the things you post can affect how others view you. With the recent surge of texting programs, it has been easier for people to spread gossip and say mean things with their friends. This is because they are confident in the feeling that they can do whatever they want, and no one will find out. You lose all responsibility of who you are, and how you should act. I recently broke up with some outside friends, because they had written a paragraph about how the came to dislike me. This is a prime example of the power some people can feel from the feeling of security with private chat rooms and such. This is why it is important to keep a healthy self-image of yourself within real life, and within your digital life.

From the moment you are born, different services are keeping documents of info of you. The ultrasounds you mother receives are being documented by the doctors. When you are born your parents have most likely taken a photo or two of you. During your life, different pieces of your information are being revealed towards sites of slight suspicion. All of this is known as your 'Digital Dossier". During your life, piles and piles of files have been created to store very private information about you, this can describe your height, birthday. To how you act as a person. There are not many things to avoid this, excluding the caution of certain sources. Because of this, it is of utmost importance to be very careful about what you do, as no matter what, you are being recorded. This may be frightening, but this is a warning to others that you are being watched, and you must attain the maturity online, to keep a safe future.

In conclusion, the internet is one of the most ingenious inventions ever. It has made accessing areas of info, or communication very convenient. This acts as a double edged blade, as while you are purchasing that sweet 1000$ Hoverboard, you are unwillingly throwing away valuable pieces of information about you, that you most likely do not wish to be shared. How to be a good citizen? We have been enrolled to two lessons for digital citizenship, one is the presentation and the lesson we talked about today. In the presentation, we learned how to take our responsible on the internet and how to protect ourselves from letting strangers know your personal informations. The lesson today was discussed more of how to protect ourselves in digitally since we were born or created in this world--Digital Dossier.

Digital Dossier, a brilliant word work word for representing a file officially for digital. The digital dossier is basically just records of your life. Our entire life. Although we always say creating passwords is going to be safe for your digital dossier and the profile of you won’t be leaked, the internet is never safe for citizens. Digital Dossier is the footprint of your past which have already shown the whole life of you. Strangers could know everything of you if they got your digital dossier, something even you don’t know.

Being a good citizen, we take our responsibility and ensure the privacy of you and your life. I learned that to protect ourselves from getting our information stolen by hackers or strangers, is not to click on something you don’t know or have never seen before. Never enter personal stuff such as email, credit card passwords on the internet, because form likes that requires you to fill in might be insecure and might be stolen from strangers. I also learned that how digital dossier records our lives from the picture in my mom's stomach to now, the information of google docs. Digital Dossier is also like a stalker following you all the time when you are on the internet. Lastly, I learned that I must have to make concern and consideration before making a decision. Which every single button I clicked could affect my life, so, the internet is dangerous and mostly insecure. However, we use them because we were required to, hopefully, walk every single step carefully and you won’t hurt yourself.

Today in class we learned how to be a good citizen online in the digital world. And today I learned a little bit on how we can stay safe and make sure we aren’t hurting anyone else. The first thing I learned today was about how my digital footprint would be un-erasable, and that it is our own responsibility as citizens to limit the number of people and kind of people that we may be exposing information to, and we all just need to think about what we put online.
A second fact that caught my eye was something to do with my digital footprint and my child’s digital footprint, once I was born, photo or text messages, pictures, files and so much more have been stored into my digital footprint and my footprint could contain more info than I knew about myself. And so as a child or soon to be parent must limit that info that leaves and is open to friends or relatives, and if we don’t we may be hurting our own future, and our child’s future.
Another really common mistake people make online can drastically effect their own digital dossier, and I mean cyber bullying, saying mean and impolite things, exploiting someone’s weakness online and in real life, these people are not only ruining others lives, their also hurting themselves by creating a bad look of themselves online and in real life, and like I mentioned, we all need to understand that people have feelings and we should think about how we have effected someone’s memory and life. At one point online my personal weakness was exploited, and I was being either pranked or tricked, but at the time I didn’t realize. So when that person asked for a statement or answer I wouldn’t have given them it if it wasn’t the real person I was meant to talk to and so that person got the info that they wanted and by the end of the conversation I realized that I was pranked into being scammed into giving personal information, and when It was over, that person revealed themselves and I was in shock. And that is how easy info may be being taken away from you as your reading this.

In conclusion everyone must be a good citizen or parent on and offline. It is imperative that we do so, if we don’t I fear you future may be ruined on so many levels, such as losing jobs and not have to be social anymore and that’s a because do what we did in the past. So think before you make a move.

"nothing ever goes away once its posted online". today we learned all about internet safety and our own digital footprint and dossier. the internet is developing at such a rapid rate that we can't keep up with it.

what is a digital footprint and dossier? well before you were born, pictures, videos, information, and other classified things about you were shared and collected. information about you can be shared between relatives and your digital dossier will put that information into your file.
why is it so important to be a good digital citizen? today, Mr.hong told us to use something called 'future googles". all actions have consequences. in the future, if you have a bad reputation online, it can be hard to find schools and jobs. this is why it is important to keep your footprint and dossier clean.

some key tips are, you should never overshare, meaning you should never share confidential things and your location. another thing that you shouldn't do is post about how your feeling. these posts can come back in the future and be quite embarrassing. another thing you should do is make sure all your accounts are private. This secures your privacy and makes sure that only specific people can view your profile. One last thing you can do is make sure you know your audience. Your followers should be people that you have a mutual connection with. This makes sure that our photos are only seen by people that you trust and know.

In conclusion, we should take extra caution when it comes to the internet. You never know when your information can be used against you.
