This morning, we carried on with our first PE unit on Fitness. We reviewed the SAID Principle and almost finished collecting data for our first fitness test. Next week, students will complete the cardiovascular endurance component. They will complete a 1 mile run and the beep test. The data will be used by the students to set personal fitness goals. They will use the FITT Principle to create a training program that will help them reach their goal.

IMPORTANT:
1.) Pow Wow Dance performance at 1pm tomorrow in the gym

Unit #2 Spelling and meaning test tomorrow

2.) HOME READING:

30 minutes and fill in the calendar

3.) ART: Bring any materials you want to use for your 'ALL ABOUT ME' collage.

4) POST A RESPONSE:

In Physical and Health Education we have been learning about the SAID principle.
Explain the SAID principle using examples.

PAR SUCCESS CRITERIA:

Use your own words
Use at least 2 paragraphs (a paragraph is usually between 3 and 6 sentences)
Include 2 supporting points.
Include the 'Givens' (spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, etc.)

Give at least one other student some feedback on their post based on the above success criteria.
Edit/revise based on the feedback you receive.

S.A.I.D Specific adaptation to impose demands which means your body will adapt to any changes you make, for when you hypothetically really wanted to be a sumo wrestler, you needed train your body to be big, eat and lift heavy weights til' they get the body they needed to wrestle. If you changed you mind and wanted to be a ballerina you have to try to get thin but still be strong, so you got to exercise a lot, so you get the body they need to dance.Those are some examples of how people adapt changes in their body.

Today we learned the SAID principle and now I’m going to explain it. If we break it down, then the SAID principal stands for Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demands. That basically means that your body will adapt and change as you are changing what you eat, how you exercise etc. Now I’m going to explain how it happens.

Here’s an example: if you are a skater but you want to become a swimmer, then you are going to change your diet and training completely to a swimmers. That’s when your body will change to help you swim better and maybe after you train for a while and it will become more muscler. That is you putting a certain demand on your body. Your body change the way you are trying to change it.

The SAID principle is a great way to phrase how the human body adapts.
S-specific
A-adaptations to
I- imposed
D- demands
That’s what the “said” principle stands for.
This priniple is based on how our bodies work. Let’s say if u want to become a classical dancer, some physically demanding skills you would need are things such as flexibility, balance, strength and so on. So now that you have decided you want to be a dancer you need to train yourself. You need to do SPECIFIC exercises to improve different skills/ muscles. For example; if you want to be flexible push-ups will not help you. But touching your toes without bending your knees will, working on your splits, sit and reach, etc. These are some of the many things that would help you ADAPT your body to how you would like to.

This is a story of my own personal experience.
Natuarally in not a flexible person, but I wanted to become a dancer witch was pretty unfortunate. So I was using the SAID principle without knowing, I would stretch and practive for two hours a day! Witch resulted to me bing able to do the splits. After that I kept going, at one point I could put my whole arm up to my shoulder on the ground without bending my knees.

In conclusion:
the said principle is what you should instantly remember if you want to adapt to new conditions.

Have you ever gotten blisters after you have swung on monkey bars for a while? Well that's because your body adapts to swinging on the monkey bars by making your skin tougher in areas most exposed to the monkey bars in order to protect yourself. The "S.A.I.D" principle is an abbreviated phrase for "Specific adaptations to imposed demands." It means your body adapts to whatever demand you put on it in order to protect yourself.

For example, say you're a long distance runner and want to become a strong wrestler. To become stronger, you have to change your exercise routine in order to become stronger. This means to train yourself to have more strength. Because you change your exercise routine, your body slowly adapts to the change, resulting you to be more fit.

Overall, the SAID principle is just a simple form of your body adapting based on what demand you put on it.

SAID stands for Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. This means that whenever demand you put on your body. Your body will have to adapt.

Let me give you a example. Say if you are a sumo wrestler and you suddenly want to become a ballerina. Your body would have to adapt
to become more flexible in order to become a ballerina.

S.A.I.D.(specific adaptation to imposed demands)

The SAID principle when applied to physical training means to do specific exercises or movements to prepare the body to be able to complete them better in the future. There are two exercises we will be completing in gym, a one mile run as well as the beep test. So I am going to give you two examples of how one could prepare for these two tests.

The first example is for the 1 mile run, and would be to practice the SAID principle by running increasing distances from 0.5 miles to 1.5miles. This would allow you to train your stamina for how long you can run for as well as strengthen your legs. The benefit of running further than 1 mile is that your body will not be strained for the test.
The second example is for the beep test, its similar to the 1 mile test but its focused on shorter bursts of speed. So a way to apply the SAID principle would be practice 100m sprints as well as multiple sprints in a row.

When you break the S.A.I.D principles down it stands for,'Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demand." Here are a two examples if you don`t understand:

Let`s say you are a sumo wrestler and you want to be a long distant runner, you need to put the right specific demand on your body. For example, you should start by lifting light weight dumbbells and going outside to jog. Also you need to eat healthy and less food because for a long distant runner you need to be really light to run a long way. If you continue to do demands like these your body will change to look skinnier because your are lighter and lots of muscle to keep running.

Now let`s say you wanna be a sumo wrestler again. Now you need to put a different demand on your body. Start by eating a lot to gain weight and slowly lift heavier weight dumbbells. Soon your body will become bigger and your legs will also be bigger because of all the muscle(and fat).

Like Mr. Fisher said," Its amazing how our body can change to whatever demand we put on it." And it is true!

The S.A.I.D principle.
The said principle means Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. It basically means that whatever demand that you put on your body, it will adapt to what you want. It can happen with anyone. You just need to change your exercise plan and some other stuff to make it happen.

There can be many examples but let me tell you a few. If you wanted to become a gymnast you would have to train a lot, stretch a lot and eat a healthier diet so you can become slim. Gymnasts must be very flexible to do the moves that they do. Another example is one that Mr. Fisher said; if you want to become a sumo wrestler then you would have to exercise less, eat a lot and lift heavy weights to become strong. Just remember this; whatever demand you put on your body, your body will adapt even though it will some time. The S.A.I.D principle is a good thing to know at any age.

It means that whatever demand you put on your body, it will change into what you want it to. For example if your a hockey player but you want to change to a swimmer you will change how you exercise and how you eat into how a swimmer eats and exercises that way your body will adjust the way you want it to and it will make it easier for you to do that activity or sports because you have the right body for it!

The S.A.I.D principle stands for Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. As in your body changes to the demands you put on it.

For example, in kendo I practice bare-footed. With my feet rubbing against the floor over and over again, my feet formed blisters. After some time my feet have grown a thicker layer of skin on the spots that are used the most. Just like when you go on the monkey bars too often.

Another thing I have picked up from kendo is endurance. Not a lot, but a enough to get me through practice. Before, when I was younger, I was out of breath after running a few laps. Now I can run those couple of laps with ease. Part of the endurance comes from the age difference but otherwise it's mainly from kendo. After repeating something over and over again, your body gets used to it. Therefor making it easier for you to do the task that you have done repeatedly.

I go to swim class and I picked up endurance because I been doing long distances. I would at least do 4 laps around the swimming pool.

The S.A.I.D. principle adapts your body to the activity so you do a lot like when you play on the monkey bars your skin is getting thicker to help you climb better on the monkey bars. Also you know when your in a pool and your fingers wrinkle? That's basically your body reacting to the water your in and it gives you more grip underwater so that's basically what the said principles are.

The S.A.I.D. principle is just something your body does to help you do the activity or sports you like doing. So it's just a cool body feature that helps you adapt to the sports or activities you have been doing. That's basically the S.A.I.D. principle for you and what it does.

An example would be if you wanted to be a long distance runner, you would have train hard and eat healthier. Anything is possible! If you do things a lot and repeat it multiple times, your body will get used to it and suddenly will change. It will get easier and easier before you know it!

S.A.I.D, Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. Our body is a fascinating creation. S.A.I.D is just a quick saying for my-body-can meet-any-demands. For example, I want to be a weight lifter. In order to become that we go through training to adjust our body. If you train in the correct way, your body will be whatever you want. The difference between a long distance runner and a weight lifter can be vast.

In a word, our bodies are amazing pieces of work and can meet our every demand.

Today we will talk about the S.A.I.D principle. first lets go over what S.A.I.D stands for and means. S.A.I.D stands for specific adaptation to imposed demands. If you don't know what the means it means you can make and change your body to whatever you want it to be so you can be a swimmer and your body will adapt to it by having wrinkly fingers and toes for more grip if you don't want to be a swimmer any more you can become pretty much anything with enough exercise in the right areas and some practise. The human body is so amazing that it can do stuff like this.

When you were younger, did you ever play on the monkey bars? If you did, you might notice that you're skin is especially thick in some areas. This is because of the said principal.

Today in gym, we learned about the said principle. S.A.I.D stands for specific adaptations to imposed demand. This basically means that whatever demands we put on our body, our body will adapt to that demand. For example, when we play on the monkey bars, its likely that our palms will develop blisters. Over time, the more we swing on the monkey bars, the stronger and thicker our palms get. Some areas of your palm will have tough thick skin to prevent blisters.

In conclusion, our body is truly amazing. It can satisfy and demand we put to it.

The S.A.I.D. principle-"Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands"-helps your body adapt to different demands that you put on it, including what you eat, how much you exercise and even which type of exercises you do!

If you wanted to become a sumo wrestler, you'd have to eat a LOT to build up fat (or whatever it's called), you have to lift heavy weights to get strong, and over time if you do this continuously, your body will adapt to the food you eat and the lifts you lift and you would soon have the body and strength of a sumo wrestler. However, if you wanted to retire you would stop eating as much and maybe not lift heavy weights. After a while, your body will start to adapt and your body will start...throwing away fat.

There you have it, the SAID principle and how it works. Overall conclusion, your body will adjust to what you do.

S.A.I.D Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. This means that any demand that you put on your body, your body will slowly adapt to he adjustments your placing on them.

For example, i want to be a sumo wrestler really badly. i would start to gain a lot of weight and begin to lift weights and do exercises to adjust my body to a sumo wrestler's body. then i decide that i don't want to be a sumo wrestler anymore, i want to be a track runner. I would train as a runner and potentially make my body adapt to the changes I'm putting on it.

Humans are awesome and the S.A.I.D principles can definitely help you achieve your physical goals.

The SAID principle (Specific Adaptation to Impose Demand) is a principle that shows that humans can change their body drastically depending on what you do to it. For example if a WWE wrestler wanted to become a ballerina then they would be able to if they changed how they worked out and ate a different diet. Or if a ballerina wanted to be a sumo wrestler they would have to train to be one and put on a lot of weight. Think of it like S.P.E.C.I.A.L from the fallout games except you can change all your scores at any time in exchange for time and effort. Its pretty cool to be honest.

For example, if I wanted to be a weight lifter, I would have to change my body. First of all, I would lift weights everyday, and slowly, my arms will become stronger. I would then train my body to lift something really heavy, but not hold it up for too long. Slowly, my body will change to what demands I put on it. My arms will have big muscles, and my body shape would change. Another example is, pretend I don't want to be a weight lifter anymore. I want to be a track runner. I would start losing my muscles to become lighter, and build up my endurance. I would run everyday and train my legs. Soon, I'll have the body of a track runner.

In conclusion, our bodies will react and adapt to whatever demands you put on it.

A great man named Mr.Fisher once said, the S.A.I.D. principle is the most amazing thing your body can do. So first, what is the S.A.I.D. principle? it stands for Specific Adaptation to Impose Demands. Which simply means your body adapts to whatever demand you put on it in order to protect yourself.

For example you do nothing at all but suddenly decide to swing around on the money bars as you play your body will adapt to what your doing, like it will make your hands have thicker skin or give you more arm muscles.

In conclusion I think that the S.A.I.D. principle is amazing and life would be really hard without it.

That is the SAID principle of physical health, in a more basic explanation, it essentially means when you have put yourself in a totally new environment your body will slowly adapt to the natural surroundings and skills required to survive.

For examle, you want to take a break from the city and head north to see the northern lights.you said you would stay up there for a week. Once you reach your campsite on the first day, your body will feel out of place because it is so used to city heat and weather, wifi and comfort. But when you are on your second day there you begin to understand what life is like up there and so some small parts of your body begin to adapt, you begin to eat more and gain some more fat to stay warmer. Then when you wake up on the third day your half your body has adapted quite well to this new environment, and let's say yesterday you could not jump in the snow or walk as fast, and that today your calves and thigh muscles began to loosen and your body became more and more flexible, because of the time you spent there. The longer you are there the sooner your body will adapt and survive.

The other half of the phrase is to adapt to any imposed demand put on the human body.
For example, I want to be a football player, but I don't have a whole lot of muscle, and so I need to build more of that muscle, and because I need more strength and agility I would go and work at the gym and do push-ups and sit-ups and prevent any injuries I have to strech before anything realted to workout, and when I begin to lift weights I will start slow at a low level, and slowly my body will adapt by increasing the amount of muscle in my arms and legs, and at the same time I would be either run on real earth ground or on a treadmill, and everytime I ran I would run and 3 km/h, and my goal is to 5 or 6 km/h as fast a possible, and in doing so my body would lossen up my thigh and calves so that I can sprint father and run longer distances, and once I've done this for a while, and I got used to it then the coach will accept me as part of teh football team, and now I can do what I love.

In conclusion, the SAID principle is easy to understand and is very accurate about the human body and its definition is very creative and versatile. I think it is a great way to understand how our bodies handle ceratin situation and demands put on it.

For example, if I want to be a long distance runner then I would run 3km/h for 5 hours everyday until I reach my goal. My goal would be to run 5km/h for 5 hours.
