WEDNESDAY: Grouse Grind Tomorrow

Term 1 Grouse Grind

Tomorrow will be our second trip up the Grouse Grind. Be sure to hydrate well tonight and tomorrow morning so you don't get dehydrated on the hike tomorrow. The weather forecast is calling for a high of 26 degrees tomorrow so be sure to wear your sunscreen! Remember, you are not allowed to do any geocaching on the hike up the mountain. However, you are permitted to geocache only on marked areas once you reach the top of the mountain. You are not to go off any trails during your free time at the top of the mountain. Get permission from your parent volunteer tomorrow beforehand.

2.) SCIENCE:

Share your PREZI with me at my gmail address. Share it directly from Prezi. I'd like to see what you have completed so far.

3.) MATH 6: Any assigned work.
MATH 7: Complete section 6.6 and mark at home. Bring your questions to the next math class.

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

What is your goal on the Grouse Grind tomorrow?
Who will you likely hike with?
What was your time last time?
How long do you expect to take hiking up the mountain tomorrow?

My goal for the Grouse Grind is to beat my time. The first time I did the Grouse Grind I was getting a feel for it so my time was 1 hour and 15 minutes. But, this time my goal is to get down by 15 minutes. So, I want to hike up the mountain in an hour. I think I will start hiking with Anita but then I will bounce around to different groups. I am positive I won't just stay with one person. As I mentioned before, when I hiked up the grouse grind my time was an hour and 15 minutes. I think I will hiccup the mountain in an hour and 10 minutes and thats not my goal. So, I will try my hardest to reach my goal but I don't think I will make it. But, never say never.

@Pebbles, I like how you're exadurating about what you'll sound like on your way up, very neat way to start your PAR off. Also, try to catch up with Anita's pace because I think she'd be jogging on her way up so she wouldn't be wasting too much of her energy and her jog is as fast as you running. Good luck out there.

@ Oracle, I disagree. I can run pretty fast (*Not trying to brag or show off*) so I think my jog would be a little slower then hers but I know eventually this will happen... " Go on with out me! Im to weak. Go! Just go!" Because well, it obvious for me. Ha!

For the grouse grind I hope to beat my time and sprint more because last time I was walking the whole time. I want to hike up with my friend in Ms. Wilson's class and I want to hike up with him. If I can keep up because last time he got 50 minutes. Last time I got 1 hour and 30 minutes walking up. This time I hope to beat it by 30 minutes. I expect an 1 hour and 10 minutes however I am hoping to get 1 hour. I cannot wait till to tomorrow to hike up the grouse grind!

Last time I took lots of breaks, ate snacks, and fed a squirell, plus I was walking the whole time which made me finish it in about 1 hour and 49 minutes this time I will go faster and try to beat my timeby about 50 minutes which will be about an hour. I will probably most likely hike with Ryan and Caleb because I am driving with them.

I don't think it will be hard... I was walking the whole time and probably spent 30 mins sitting all together I wasn't really trying. But if I do really good I'll be happy.

"You must go without me! Tell my family, I love them. *Faints dead*" That would be my reaction if I went up on a mountain twice as much more bigger than the Grouse Grind. If I were to go then my goal would to beat a very fast student in the school that can almost keep up with Mr. Hong but since I can't go then I can't really attempt to accomplish this goal just yet. I also wished I could go up and see if I can beat some friends while going with them like Ethan or someone else. During my last hike I'm not really sure what I got but I'm sure it was close to an hour and 21 minutes or something. I know it was around 20 minutes and not above 25 minutes. And hopefully when I go again I hope to beat my record and go for 50 minutes to an hour.

My goal is to beat my best time and if not, get under an hour. While hiking I am going to hike with logan and a couple other people that are about my skill level so I can enjoy the grind with other people. My old best time is around 58 min from what I remember. i think tommorow i will get a best time because I have been training with scouts. eg. We backpaked up to lindimen lake they we hiked another 5 hours in the morning to green drop lake and back.

My goal is to beat mr Hong and then he buys me something at the top. I will likely dart to the top with Ryan Aidan, Jono (Jonothan).
My last score was 46:14 I am aiming to get under 45 mins.

I want to get on the top of the mountain in 1 and half hours. I will probably hike with Vish and my dad. My last time was 2 hours and half and my goal is 1 and half hours. I expect it will take me 2 hours.

"Yes! I made it! Just about 30 minutes!", this is what I want to say when I make it all the way at the top! I also hope that I can beat @Mr. Hong. However, he is bringing his daughter which will make him slower. But, Im so excited to see his daughter! Firstly, my goal for the grouse grind is to try to make it all the way at the top for 30 minutes. I want to achieve this goal, because when I did it on the first term I got 1 hour and 8 minutes which I didnt feel so good about it. I also, want to achieve this goal, because I want it to be a record for the grouse grind mounting hiking. Secondly, Im probably wont hike with anyone because, I want to at least run/ walk/ jog the whole time so that I can make it to 30 minutes. But, If I do somehow stop im probably going to be with Brooke, or anyone else that I now of. Lastly, Im not sure about how many hours or minutes long can I make it to the top I just want to make it for 30 minutes which will be my goal. Whats your goal for the Grouse Grind?

@LUYSA Soccor Player #10, you are a very smart person! With Campbell going with Mr. Hong he would have to walk or piggy back his daughter up to the top which means you' have the upper hand advantage! I hope you can beat Mr. Hong.

My goal is to have fun and enjoy myself on the grind. I will most likely hike with Noah in Mrs.Wilson's class. My last time was 50 minutes. This time I expect to get 1 hour and 30 minutes because Noah and I are planning on not going too fast and just enjoying the hike.

I am most likely going to make my goal as to survive the Grouse Grind and also I am going to be hiking with my two best friends Alex and Nathan in Mrs. Pherell's class. My last time was an hour and 30 minutes or around there. I just hope that since the heat is going to be really hot that I DON'T DIE OF HEATSTROKE!

My goal is to finish the hinge in 1 hour or less. I will do this by joging in a good pace and drinking lots of water and not stoping. I just hope I make, I never went up this mountain but I think it will be a realy good experience for me and a lot of fun.

My goal is to beat my last score and have fun. Also be safe and dont get injured. I will most likely to hike with Kavishka, Jenna, and Hailey. My last score was 2hours and half miniutes. So tomorrow I will try to make it less than 2 hours.

My goal is to beat my record and try to get 1 hour or less. I wanna get 50 minutes. But if I wanna achieve this goal I have to go faster and don't take breaks. I will drink water on the way but no sitting down. I will probably stretch my legs for a few seconds then go on. Im going to stick with my good friend Owen from Ms . Wilson's class. He is is also gonna try and beat his record.

Last time I did the Grind I was sick. Really sick I felt like death. So it took me 2 and a half hours ): This time I hope to do it in about 2 hours. I think I will walk with Jenna's mom because I walked with her last time.

My goal is to have fun and get a better time than last time. I will likely hike with any of my friends that I meet along the hike. My last time was 1 hour and 50 muinites. I expect to take 1 hour and thirty muinites tommorow.

My goal for tomorrow is beat my time record which is 2 and a half hours, and I want to get to the top in 1 and a half hours. It's going to be a challenge but I think I can do it because last time I went I wasn't really trying because I gave up half way up the mountain. I'm probably going to hike up the mountain with Chae Eun and Jenna.

My goal is to get around the 2 hours and 15 minute mark because last time I got 2 and a half hours. I will most likly be hiking with Hailey, Chae Eun and Kavishka. Last time I walk with Hailey but then I passes her and walked with Chae Eun and Jessica and other people.

I am not going to the grouse grind tomorrow but if I was a goal I would set goal about my time like I would try to make my only 2 and a half hours instead of three hours. If I was going I would probably hike up with Julie and Sarah. I didn't go last time.
