Working with others is a very important skill in life. I had a pretty good experience with Cooper,as we were working collaboratively. The bad thing is that we were a little bit off task at times. I think the best way to improve on this project is to be able to stay on task and self-regulate more. I can look at the C-chart and drink water to help me with this goal.

It was better then I thought working with another person and together we got a lot of thoughts and connections. We worked well together on the visible thinking because we would sometimes have different thoughts and connections. I am not sure what we’re my challenges when working on that. When working together on that same book together some of there thoughts might push your thinking when you read it so there helping you be more successful. I am not really sure what I prefer working independently or collaboratively because if I am working with a friend or friends then I would want to work with them but if it’s a stranger I won’t really want to work with them.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
My experience working with my partner was very fun but stressful at the same time because they can be annoying sometimes but when you start to discuss something interesting, it really gets fun.
2.) What worked well?
I think that the discussions with my partner went well because we have different ideas and we both respected them and it was very cool to do so.
3.) What were some challenges?
Some of the challenges were distraction from the people around us. At the first period, it went pretty well but after the break in the second period, we got pretty distracted from others.
4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
To be successful with others, we have to respect each others opinions and to collaborate with one and another. You also have to accept the fact that they do not know as much as you do.
5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I don't really prefer anything but I like to work in larger groups rather than independently or with just 1 or 2 people.

My experience with Ethan was cool working together through the book long book adding a least 1 sticky note per page each. What worked out was that we took turns reading each page and shared our own thoughts between pages. The only road block or bad thing we encountered was running out of sticky notes caused by the long book and our interest with-in the book. For example using our BK (background knowledge) to make connections, questions, inferring and much more. I can ensure that I'm successful with others by using the C-Chart and go over it every time before reading. I rather work collaboratively because it gives another view on other people opinions and knowledge with background knowledge.

1. My partner was May, I think that it worked well, we both shared our ideas and our visible thinking together.
2. We would read a page or two, and then stop and talk about our visible thinking together on those pages.
3. We mainly stayed on task... but every once in a while we would talk about something not exactly related to the book.
4. Make sure to do your part well, and not distract others from doing their work as well as following the criteria.
5. I think that it kind of depends on what we are doing, but in general probably working collaboratively because that way we can share our ideas and understandings on the topic and you can learn new things through other people. When you work with other people, you can also gain new understandings and thinking that you would not have thought of yourself.

Both yesterday and today, we got to do visible thinking in our picture books, with students from Mr. Fisher's class.
1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
I think the visible thinking went OK, we both just did our own visible thinking. Sometimes, I'd finish writing first, and vice versa, so we had to wait sometimes. We will discuss why there are certain things in the book sometimes, I'd say that's expanding background knowledge.
2.) What worked well?
I think the discussions went pretty well, because we have very different ideas of what's going on, so we both learned a lot. Although we don't always think each other make sense...
3.) What were some challenges?
I think the main challenge was that there were many distractions, especially since a lot of people were moving between classes, as well as the fact that each classroom was pretty full.
4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
I think everyone should really just respect each other's opinions, because that way, everyone gets a chance to speak, without thinking their idea is 'lame', and being to afraid to share it.
5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I don't mind, as long as the group isn't too large. I feel like larger groups get out of control really easily, and things are harder to plan out.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
Veer is my partner and he is so fast at writing and I am slow and he always has to wait for me.
2.) What worked well?
That we didn't fight and we can ask each other questions.
3.) What were some challenges?
I'm a bad teacher and I can't explain anything.
4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
Help people and don't fight and talk about things that are on task.
5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
Independently because I am fine on my own I am natural at fighting with people. Especially my sisters. And Caden.

So my partner for this reading thing is Kento, he is a good partner to work with as we listen to each others opinions and make funny jokes about the book.
2) A Lot of things went well during the visible thinking.

3) Some challenges during the visible thinking were staying on task as we got distracted easily by neighbors

4) I can ensure that we are successful if we all be open minded and take in all ideas.

5) Depending on what it is and how the person reacts. Most of the time, i'm ok with everyone but sometimes the person is very stubborn and that's what usually makes me want to work by myself.

1.)My partner and I got along quite well and we agreed on a lot of things we found were meaning full or quite, well strange.

2.)It worked out that we both agreed on a lot of things, and that when we have different thoughts, we can both add on to our own learning as well as listening to each other's opinions.

3.) Well, we were sometimes distracted by things happening in the classroom and when my partner didn't have ideas.

4.) To constantly remind myself and others to focus on what we are learning and that we have plenty of time to do other things later.

5.) I'm fine with both.

Well, Andrew is one of my best friends he is funny, kind, and caring. He can be very serious when it comes to working, but not always. We work pretty well together when we want to get stuff done which is a lot of the times but sometimes we just… Well, drag on about irrelevant topics and avoid our work. It is relatively easy working with Andrew we have known each other for a couple years and we get along just fine together. Also, there is a down side. Like I said we sometimes distract each other and get off task, sometimes we just don’t want to work. Some ways we can be successful when collaborating with others is by sharing ideas and talking about relevant topics to build learning, and understanding. Hmmmm… Individually or collaboratively, I am going to go with collaboratively because I can bounce my ideas ,and opinions off my partner and see what he or she thinks they also can build on my learning.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
My partner was Sophia. She had a lot of great questions, connections and inferences. She was easy to work with and I thought it went pretty well. We didn't have time to complete the visible think though because most of the time we were talking about it instead of writing it down. Overall I think that it was a good experience working with a partner. You can learn so much from another person and they can also help push your thinking.
2.) What worked well?
What worked well was that no one was dominating the conversation. We had a lot of similar connections and we were staying on task.
3.) What were some challenges?
I don't think there were any challenges but maybe one challenge would be to write our thoughts down on the stickies instead of talking about it.
4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
We can refer back to the C-chart to stay on task and follow criteria.
5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I prefer collaborative work because you get to learn a lot more from people while if you are working alone you might not know as much. Also if you are stuck there is no one to push your thinking and think beyond the text.

My partner was Kevin M. We worked together pretty well, but Kevin had very strong opinions on the settings of the story. After every couple pages, I would try to write a sticky note and I would ask Kevin for his thoughts. I tried to listen every time he wanted to share and by being respectful and listening to each other, we got stuff done :).

Sometimes, the discussion would get a little out of hand, as Kevin had many strong views on the story’s various settings and the plot, and was very eager to share, even thought I was talking. But I really appreciated his enthusiasm and willingness to express himself.

To ensure that I work productively with others, I do my best to listen and include everyone’s views and comments and to not interrupt someone’s thought. Basically SOAR.

I honestly don’t mind either. There are some advantages and drawbacks to both, but as long as I like my group, I prefer group assignments and projects.

1.) My partner and I did collaborate but it was only a little. We had a lot of questions and thoughts for our visible thinking. We didn't read each other's but when we did it gave us an idea to write down in our own words and thinking. Again we didn't collaborate a lot and the purpose of this is to teach the other class about this and to cooperate.
2.) What worked well is that we didn't get off task. We kept working on our visible thinking and booklets without being as distracted.
3.) We didn't have any challenges.
4.) If we do get off task or not work with each other we could talk it out before getting back to work and look at the C-chart instead of not doing anything.
5.) I prefer collaborative work because there are chances that you'll get stuck on a question and not have any answers to it even though you read the book again. Your group members will share and then you'll have an *AHA* moment. That moment is you having an idea of what to write now because you had nothing to start with. Your group members will also add to your BK and thinking to make your P.R more powerful or show that you have more understanding of something.

At first, I'm sure everyone felt the same way but I felt uncomfortable when I shared my ideas or questions. Especially my deep ones with other people but then I realized that I could develop my ideas and questions with other peoples ideas and questions.

We each read a page and alternated back and forth. Posting at least one sticky note on each page.

Some challenges we faced were that, we had a small problem starting conversations. Other than that we were fine.

I think it depends on what kind of work it is but you should be self regulating, like listening when someone is talking.

I think I would prefer collaborative over working by myself because then we can share ideas and grow our ideas with ideas from you group members or partner.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
My partner was Lainey, and since we were already friends we worked pretty well together. At least that's what I think. There might be a different side to the story too. She had lot's of comments, and I really enjoyed reading them all. Some made me laugh a bit too.
2.) What worked well?
I think Lainey pushed my thinking forward a lot I'm still not really sure what the big idea is, since the story kept jumping forward to random time slots without me really understanding. While I'm here confused, my partner had everything all covered. I was really surprised. Who said we had to teach Div 1? They have it all down!
3.) What were some challenges?
I honestly think that there really wasn't a challenge. If I had to point one out, I would say that the book I chose was way too confusing. I don't have much Background Knowledge about the subject, and jumping without giving me the time to digest the book was really hard for me.
4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
There are always the C-Charts, but I would rather help my partner in different ways. When one of us needs help understanding, the other will explain and help one another. It's a cycle. I think C-Charts are always there, but when we do collaborative work, collaboration is the most important.
5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
To be perfectly honest, I'd rather work alone. It's not that I have a grudge on collaborating or anything. It's just that I find doing work by yourself is way easier. In the powerful response of course you're going to get more information from others and that's good, but if it's something like a project, you have more things to think about. You can't just move on and do what you want to do. Which slows down the process of everything a lot. I like to do things right away straightforwardly, and not after several moments of 'What're we going to do next?' I can never be someone that conducts, yet I cannot be someone to do things without a trace of hesitation if it isn't my idea. You would end up seeing me confused throughout the entire session or you would see me working away without any distractions blocking my way. I'm ranting too much. But that's the truth.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking. I found it pretty interesting working with Cynthia. I found that for the visible thinking there was a lot more sticky notes on the page since she had a lot of ideas as well. I liked hearing about Cynthia's connections because just like the book club groups, it gave me a chance to hear another person's thoughts on the book.

2.) What worked well? I personally think that the partnership, in general, worked really well. We're not best friends so we weren't talking about off topic things the entire time. Surprisingly, we stayed on-task and talked about the book for pretty much the entire time. We might not be best friends, but I'm glad I got her to work with.

3.) What were some challenges? We didn't really face any challenges in my opinion although, Cynthia might say differently.

4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others? There are a couple of ways that you can ensure that you are successful when working with others. The first thing that you can do to ensure that you're being successful is to stay open-minded. A group member might have an idea that's different than yours and that's okay. The second thing you can do is review the criteria and remind the other people in a collaboration what it is. As long as you follow the criteria you won't go wrong!

5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively? It depends on what we're doing. For the novel approach so far, I've liked working collaboratively better. A lot of the time I find that I have no ideas, so working collaboratively can help to inspire me.

1.) Working with my partner is cool. We don’t get distracted and we are focused most of the time, but rarely get distracted by others.
2.) We took turns reading one page at a time. We are really focused.

2.) Everything went well in general. We shared are thoughts equally and didn't fight over who got the sticky notes first.

3.) Surprisingly, everything went smooth.

4.) Refer to the C-chart and try to follow the rules as much as we can. We should also be open to one-anothers opinion.

5.) Collaterally, just because it feels less lonely when I'm doing work.

I think it is better to work with another person in doing projects. First, it is better to have good company and then I will not feel lonely in doing things alone. Also, the person I work with has her own ideas and sometimes the ideas are so good that they will help us do a good job. Of course, sometimes, I disagree with her ideas and that is the trouble. I have to persuade her to use my ideas and in doing so, it will help me think better. One important thing to ensure successful cooperation is that all the people in the team must be respectful of each other. Everyone has to allow other people to say their ideas and the team discusses and decide which idea to use. I prefer to work collaboratively. I like to have good company and good help.

It was okay, I really don't need to teach much. We just started instantly
2.) What worked well?
We pushed each other's thinking by adding to what we said.
3.) What were some challenges?
It became slower because one of us will have to wait for the other one, who is slower to finish.

By staying on task and being mindful.

I prefer to work independently because it is slower when you are collaborating.

1.) I think that my partner and I worked really well together. We never really got too off task, and therefore we completed the whole booklet as well as our visible thinking sticky notes.

2.) We were on task, and we did our work well.

3.) I think the only thing I think we could do better on is probably discussion. Some parts we weren't supposed to really talk about (the questions at the end) but I think we should've talked a little bit more in general (on topic of course!).

4.) To make sure I am successful, first off I need to ensure that my group is on task so that we complete the assignment(s) we are set. Otherwise, I would just say make sure I'm communicating and letting everybody share their ideas.

5.) Everybody here says collaboratively, and I feel kind of bad saying this but I actually prefer working individually. I just find working by myself helps me learn well and teaches me about my learning style and how to help myself do well. But it's not that I don't like working with others, because they can do lots to help as well, such as push your thinking and teach you new things.

So far, working with my partner hasn’t been too bad. I feel like we’ve been able to get a lot done.

We didn’t talk too much so we didn’t get off topic.

However we also didn’t talk much, so we didn’t collaborate as much as we could’ve, I guess.

To be successful when working with others, I know I have to stay on topic and contribute to the discussion.

It depends who I’m working with, and what the project is, honestly.

1) My partner and I worked quite well to structure our visible thinking, and we both got started on our questions and got through most, but not all, of them.

2) A strength was that we both had good ideas and both agreed on major, important points. We knew the subject and had background knowledge, as we both play instruments and understood it firsthand.

3) The problem was... we didn't really interact face-to-face. It was mostly working in a corner here, re-confirming there, asking here; but not an interaction. I will need to work on socialising and getting to really know my partner's take on the subject.

4) I believe that to be successful, we have to rely on not only ourselves, but on others, so therefore, getting to really access others' ideas and thoughts are vital, and so, to work successfully together, we need to communicate, think, and support.

5) As for that, I'm torn. On one side, working by myself has its benefits as you influence and ultimately control your own way, but having excellent input and contributions from others are invaluable in a collaborative creation. However, I would say that in working by yourself, you can exercise precious creativity that you could not in a group project.

Today,we worked with our partner of the novel approach. My partner is Coco, and I think it was actually a fun experience to work with her because we both are always stay on task and we are not talking anything that is not in this book which I think is pretty good that we did together. We also did something well in this activity. And it is when we are writing the visible thinking because like we both have our own ideas and we are like sharing and give some suggestions or feedback, and I did so well in it. Also,we helped each other when we have questions that we don't know and I think this is really good. However,I found something that is challenging in it and which is the 'gift of words'. It is because when I was doing it, some of the words I felt so confused and I have to keep reading and reread again and I spend a little bit time in it cause some of them, I found it that it was really hard so I think this is the most challenging. I think to ensure that it is successful when working with others, I will always look at the C-chart that we made, and like we are not distracting others while we are doing it. Also,we should share our own opinions and so we can learn from others. Lastly, I prefer to work collaboratively. It is because I think that when we are doing with others then we can give feedback to them and so they can know that what is wrong and learn in it. Also we can share our thoughts then people will know deeper in the story and that helped to add to our background knowledge too! So I really like working collaboratively.

1.) To be honest, I really like working in a group. Especially if my partner is a good friend that I get along with well. In this case Tasia is a very cool and 'Gucci' partner. So we get along well. (I guess?)
2.) A lot of things went well today. We talked about the logic that makes no scene in our picture book and some connections we had.
3.) Mainly it when well. But the thing is, we got off task at some point. Not TOO off task but still a little bit.
4.) Making sure you do your part as best as you can. Get your work done quickly and effectively.
5.) It really depends on what we are doing. If it was a project then I would like to work with a buddy or two. But overall it comes to WHO I work with. If it's someone that I can trust or that is my friend, then I would work collaboratively.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
My partner and I didn’t collaborate a lot. Most of the time we were doing our own visible thinking. However, when we shared our ideas, we always pushed each other’s thinking. Additionally, we always respected each other’s ideas and opinions. Furthermore we would wait for one another to finish writing our thoughts down if one of us finished before the other.

2.) What worked well?
We respected each other and our ideas. We also pushed each other’s thinking and helped each other come up with more ideas.

3.) What were some challenges?
My partner and I didn’t collaborate a lot, therefore I think we should work together more. We should share our ideas and ask questions.

4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
We can follow the criteria and remind each other to stay on task. We can also help each other when we are having trouble coming up with ideas. Most importantly, we should respect each other.

5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I would rather work collaboratively than independently. By collaborating with others we can share our ideas and push each other's thinking. We’ll end up with more ideas than before and we can be more productive and efficient. However, if the person I’m working with doesn’t do their part and relies on me to do everything, I would rather independently work.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
My partner is Miikka. She's a fast reader and writer while I take my time. We didn't talk much but we got work done. When we first read the book for purpose one (get a feel), we shared our thinking.

2.) What worked well?
We both worked efficiently and got work complete.

3.) What were some challenges?
Honestly, I don't think there was any challenges. We didn't really talk much when we were doing our visible thinking. Maybe we can interact more?

4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
To be more successful when working with others, you need to collaborate more and not take it as an individual project. Talk more to your partner or group.

5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I honestly prefer independent work more because I can figure out things myself and not let my partner/group do everything, so that way I can learn more.

1) my experience was great but I usually work well by myself. we sort of went off task but we got on task.
2)we both got at least 2 gift of words but we also almost finished our visible thinking.
3) some challenges "I" faced was my partner got of task pretty easily which was annoying but I got over it.
4) to succeed I usually talk a lot and it gives me more ideas and It also adds to my background knowledge.
5)I would say independently because you know what you are doing but other people cant understand what you have In mind. its better to be by myself because you don't talk but you get more work done.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
My partner and I were both participating and writing down thoughts on the sticky notes. Sometimes we get off task and start chatting, but as soon as someone reminds the class to focus we will.
2.) What worked well?
We were both writing down our ideas and asking questions.
3.) What were some challenges?
We don’t really have any discusstions since we don’t really talk
4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
When one person don’t understand something, the other will try to help or explain to that person. Also the C-Chart is always up there to remind us.
5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I don’t really know. Maybe independently? Since I’m always working on my own I’m really getting used to it.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
It was awkward. It’s weird having to wait until the other person finishes then moving on to the next page. The only word that describes it is awkward.

2.) What worked well?
Being focused worked well. We didn’t really get off task.

3.) What were some challenges?
Having to awkwardly wait for the other person to finish. Also having to go to the next page without the other person done the note.

4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
-You’re on task and focused
-You’re able to communicate to each other properly
-Behaviour is always regulated

5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
Independently. Only because it’s easier. Having to work with someone else can sometimes be a pain. Most of the times you have to do most of the work or you just get off task. But then you wouldn’t be able to learn from others.

1.) Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
Personally I didn't enjoy it because I'm so used to waiting for the other person, and it gets really awkward when he doesn't talk for REALLY long periods of time.

2.) What worked well?
Overall it worked out well because we were focused, and not talking.

3.) What were some challenges?
For me a challenge was waiting for him, however it's their first time so I don't really blame him.

4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
If you communicate properly, but stay focused on what you're working on that can really help. And keep your socializing with other groups to a minimum that helps as well.

5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I'd prefer to work independently, mainly because it's easier to just go at your own pace, it's easier to stay on task, which means you learn more.

My P.A.R.

1.)Describe your experience working with another person to complete your visible thinking.
It was fun working with another person but I rather work on my own for this type of stuff and then get together with my whole group like we did before.

2.) What worked well?
Nothing went wrong with my partner and I cause we were always on task except when we started talking about the game and rides for B-Ball.

3.) What were some challenges?
I didn't find a lot of things challenging but one thing was when we had to what for one another to turn to the next page in the book.

4.) How can you ensure that you are successful when working with others?
You can ensure that you are successful when working with others by staying on task, self-regulating, following the R.O.L.E.S. and asking for help when it's needed.

5.) Do you prefer to work independently or collaboratively?
I would prefer to work independently because waiting for the other person is just a waste of time but when you are working on your own you can go as fast or as slow as you like.

1. My partner is Eric Z. I like working with him since he collaborates with me pretty well and since he is my friend.
2. When my partner and I read through the book we didn't get into any arguments or fights. We also worked at the same pace so we would both be ready to make visible thinking on the next page at the same time.
3. The challenge was making connections and also the people around us were also pretty distracting and being loud. So it was hard for us to concentrate.
4. Give others a chance to speak and listen to there opinions.
5. I'd prefer to work independently.

Wow Caden, you would just like fall off your chair or bang your knee on the table every 2.5 seconds. And then scream, yell, holler or say "Oof!"

Working with others is good because we can ask each others when we have something don't understand. We can also listen to others ideas and will have more thoughts. So when we work together we will have more connections and more thinking. I like to collaboratively so we can get helps from others.
