WEDNESDAY:

2/4/2015

Today, the students took part in their second water polo session at the Fleetwood pool! One student decided to get a better workout in by not using the waist belt! Afterwards, she said it was very challenging but she said it felt good that she pushed herself and worked hard! It was an impressive feat of strength and determination! We have one more session next week! Make the best of it and challenge yourself to learn new things!

1.) LA: Practice reciting your alphabet aerobics.

2.) MATH 6: Complete 2 more pages of your booklet.
FARRELL MATH 7: Pg 84 #1ad, 3ab, 4cd, and 5
WILSON MATH 7: Pg 94 #10d, 11, 12, 13, lowest terms, and QUIZ.

TUESDAY: Pay it Forward

Synthesizing and Evaluating

Today, students brainstormed ideas on how we can help people who are less fortunate than themselves. They came up with ideas ranging from fundraising, to donating blankets, to donating toys. We will continue coming up with ideas on what the students can do locally to help in the Cloverdale area. They realize they are agents of change and if they don't push for change, it will likely not happen. Be agents of change and make a difference to help others! Watch this video and be inspired!

WATER POLO TOMORROW: We have enough drivers! Thank you Mrs. Czens! Bring your swimming gear. Parent drivers, please be sure to arrive at about 11:50am so we can leave the school at noon. We are scheduled to be in the pool from 12:30 - 1:30pm.

1.) LA: Practice your alphabet aerobics. You will present them on Friday morning.

2.) SOCIAL STUDIES: No HW.

3.) MATH 6: Complete 2 more pages (front and back of one page)
MATH 7 WILSON: Pg 94 #1 and any assigned work.
MATH 7 FARRELL: Pg 77 #1-6

MONDAY: Aboriginal Art

Today, the students worked on their aboriginal art assignments by incorporating the shapes, space, proportions, and colours that are characteristic of aboriginal art. The students learned about how the shapes should be spaced in proportion to their size. Also, they learned about the different colours that are typically used and the significance of each of those colours. Click here to read more about the meaning behind the colours.

1.) LA/POETRY: Practice your lines for your 'ALPHABET AEROBICS' (Friday).

2.) MATH 6: First 2 pages
FARRELL MATH 7: Pg 72-73 #1-8
WILSON MATH 7: Pg 93 # 2-5

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

Post 1 of your alliteration lines from your ABC rap. If you are the first person to post, you will post your alliteration for the letter A. If you are the second person to post, you will post your alliteration for the letter B. And so on....
After practicing your alphabet aerobics, what have you noticed about what you have created?

What is the rhythm like?
What do you think you should change to make it flow better?
