 Mr. Hong's Class Today, students started the day off with music with Ms. Chung. Afterwards, we had ADST and a lesson on digital citizenship lesson. We continued learning about order of operations in Math and worked on concluding paragraphs for writing in the afternoon. IMPORTANT: 1.) PRO-D DAY: Monday, January 23rd, 2023. 2.) VIDEO LINKS: Learn to Write a Conclusion  ORDER OF OPERATIONS! Today, students had the UBC Commerce students visit our class for their third visit on entrepreneurship. Today, they learned about artificial intelligence. They will be planning and creating drawings of a robot this month. In math, students learned how to use order of operations and listened to a wonderful song about it. In Writing, we continued learning about different types of essay hooks. IMPORTANT: 1.) ICE SKATING: Return forms asap. PARENT VOLUNTEERS, please be sure to have your informatino verified by bringing in your volunteer drive form and license to Ms. Horne. 2.) CHURHILL FORMS: Return when you have all the information and application completed. LEARNING PLANNER: 1.) READING: 30 minutes 2.) VIDEO LINKS: Self-regulation Disney Music  Today, students continued working on their 5-Paragraph essays. In PE, they learned how to do lay-ups and scrimmaged with their classmates (3-on-3). IN Math, the excitement was amazing! Students were actively engaged in their work and loved every minute of it! The learning during math was amazing! In the afternoon, students continued working on their inquiry projects. IMPORTANT: 1.) ICE SKATING FORMS: Student return forms asap. Drive volunteer forms must be returned to Ms. Horne by the parent who is volunteering. They must show her their license to confirm the information. 2.) In Writing, we reviewed essay structure and continued working on our intro paragraph and our body paragraphs. In math, we were able to learn how to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. We will continue practicing this tomorrow. IMPORTANT: 1.) ICE SKATING FIELD TRIP: Return volunteer driver forms and permission forms ASAP. Tomorrow if possible. Please do not leave it until the last minute. They looked at an example of an intro paragraph and body paragraph that they will use to model theirs after. Tomorrow, students will continue writing their intro paragraphs and body paragraphs. In math, students learned how to divide decimals. In inquiry, students continued working on their presentations and receiving feedback on their phase 3 and 4 handouts. IMPORTANT: 1.) We reviewed structure and students started developing their thesis statements using the brainstorming from yesterday. We will continue working on this for the next month. In math, they continued learning about decimals and later in the afternoon we visited Churchill to watch a few basketball games. Students were excited to be part of this exciting sports event!
