ALSO - The 'TABLE' handout that I gave you had a typo. The units for the area should be metres squared. It did not have the 'SQUARED' symbol connected to the metres.

I suggest that you add a 'MULTIPLE COLUMNS' element, then add a 'PICTURE or PARAGRAPH WITH PICTURE' element. From there, I'm sure you can figure out how to insert your images. Review the 'Principles of Art/Design' videos that were posted a while back. b.) REFLECTION - Write a reflection on this new blog-reflection page explaining what you learned and also discuss the principles of art and design. 3.) SCIENCE 6 - Ecosystem Interactions project due on Tuesday. SCIENCE 7 - Ecosystem Interactions project due on Wednesday. 1.) SCIENCE - Work on your project (Individual, Population, Community, and Ecosystems). We will complete this in class tomorrow.

ART - If you have time, try to clean up your images and add shading. Most of you have already completed the colouring and the majority of your shading. Continue working on your projects. Check out byoplaground.com for pictures of playground equipment and their dimensions. (Remember, you will need both.) Remember, you need to save the pictures of the equipment you are going to use. Ideally, you want to save these to your Google Drive/Docs. MATH TEST on Area and Circumference will be on Tuesday. MATH 6 - Test Yourself worksheet. 2.) ART - Work on shading your pictures. Play around with the smudge tool and the magic wand. Adjust the different settings and find out just how powerful the magic wand really is. Remember, using a darker or lighter colour and smudging it will create a realistic 3D effect. 3.) POST A RESPONSE: Post the title of your organism followed by at least 2 useful and reliable sources of information. If another student in your class posts a source that you don't think is reliable, comment on it and explain why you don't think it is reliable.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DRAW ANY OBJECTS FOR HOMEWORK. Simply have a list of what equipment you will use, the shape you will use, and the dimensions of the equipment. Check out the following website if you are having trouble finding one to use: blueimp.com - Also, if you find an American site that gives you the dimensions in feet, you will have to covert the measurement into metres. You can easily find a unit converter online that will convert the 'FEET' into 'METRES'. MATH 6 - Pg. 280-281 Questions #2-5, 7 & 11. 4.) SCIENCE - Quiz tomorrow on biotic/abiotic interactions. 1.) ART - Colour your image by Tuesday using pixlr. Take a look at Ammit's image on the left and notice how she has outlined her picture very carefully. You can tell she spent a great deal of time on her picture and her lines are nice and smooth. Your image should be outlined like this. See if you can figure out how to use the magic wand tool! We will go over shading in class on Tuesday. 2.) SCIENCE - Science quiz on Tuesday. It will cover abiotic/biotic components. 3.) POST A RESPONSE: What does the magic wand tool do? 4.) Remember, you have to zoom in to ensure your lines are smooth and all the white space is erased. If you have any questions, post it here so someone from the class can answer it for you. 3.) POST A RESPONSE (SCIENCE) - List at least 4 biotic and 4 abiotic components of a 'COMMUNITY' within an ecosystem. Also, describe a detailed interaction between one biotic and abiotic factor. 1.) MATH 7 - Complete calculating the area of at least 5 of the shapes on your diagram. You must also include the total area for the 5 shapes that you calculated. You must include a square, rectangle, circle, and a triangle. Feel free to draw a circle and label it, 'The Sun.' The parallelogram is optional. If you can incorporate one or two into your diagram and make the calculations you will receive bonus points. If you have any questions, post a question here and another student will answer it for you.

Feel free to explore the different brushes and tools available in pixlr and see if you can figure out how to colour your sketch. We will go over how to do it in class tomorrow. 3.) When writing your reflection, ask yourself if the skills you learned will help you in the future? Also, please watch this video because it will help you with your writeup.
