Congratulations to all the Grade 7's (and Gr. 6's) for a great year! I have really enjoyed teaching all of you and hope that you keep in touch! Come back to visit us next year and be sure to drop me an email from time to time to let me know how you are doing. I'll miss all of you! You are the best! Remember to always set goals and work hard to achieve them! The world is out there for you to explore! I know you will all do amazing things with your lives! "Stay fabulous!" 1.) Grade 7's: You may arrive at 9:30am tomorrow if your parents give you permission to do so. However, if you are still free to arrive at the regular time! :)
2.) CLEAN UP: Bring a big bag or garbage bag to clean out your things. Bring back any textbooks or library books that you have at home. 3.) Assembly: The assembly will start at 10am tomorrow morning. I advise that your parents arrive early to secure a good seat. 4.) POST A RESPONSE: Grade 7's - How do you feel about starting high school in September? Will it be different or similar to your elementary school experience? Explain. Grade 6's/7's - What does it mean to be a good citizen of Hillcrest Elementary? 1.) Grade 7's - Pancake breakfast tomorrow morning. Arrive at the regular time.
2.) POST A RESPONSE: What will you do over the summer holidays? 1.) ART - If you would like me to include one of your other photos in the iBook/E-book, make sure you email it to me or share it with me via Google Docs/Drive as soon as possible.
2.) DIGITAL ART - If you are working on the staff images, please try to email them to me as soon as possible, as you complete them. If you need to complete your self-images, make sure they are uploaded to your websites and e-mailed to me. 3.) POST A RESPONSE - Grade 7's, what wise words do you have for the Grade 6's? Grade 6's, what kind words do you have for the Grade 7's? 1.) Grade 7's - I have sent you an invite to a document on Google Docs/Drive. I would like only the grade 7 students to choose a word that best describes yourself and type it in next to your name.
2.) SCIENCE - There are only a few students who have yet to finish their ecosystems interactions project. If you are one of the few, it is due in the morning. 3.) Dance - If you do not want me to upload your break dancing video to our password protected area, please let me know and I will not post it. 4.) Post a response: What is your favourite song and why? Comment on the meaning of the lyrics in your favourite song and elaborate on why you like it. 1.) If you haven't returned your 'SUNNYSIDE' permission form yet, you will not be able to participate tomorrow unless you give it to me in the morning. Bring your bathing suits, towels, baseball gloves, volleyball, and/or anything else you want to bring to the park.
2.) POST A RESPONSE: Not all students were allowed to participate today. Why do you think you were able to go to Playland today? (Grade 7's - Think about your behaviour, work habits, attitude, etc) What did you learn today? (Grade 6's) 1.) TOMORROW'S FIELD TRIP - Grade 7's are going to PLAYLAND TOMORROW.
2.) Grade 6's bring your ipods/mobile devices. 3.) THURSDAY'S FIELD TRIP - SUNNYSIDE FORMS MUST BE RETURNED TOMORROW OR WE ARE NOT GOING. Ask your parents to drive because we do not have enough volunteers. EMAIL ME THIS EVENING TO LET ME KNOW IF YOUR PARENTS CAN DRIVE ON THURSDAY AND THE NUMBER OF SEATS THEY HAVE. 4.) POST A RESPONSE: What are 4 things that make an advertisement effective and why? 1.) SCIENCE - Those of you who have yet to complete your 'INTERACTIONS' project, you will complete this in class tomorrow. If you have taken it home, do your best to complete it for tomorrow.
2.) POST A RESPONSE - Grade 7's: Do you feel prepared for Grade 8? - Grade 6's: Do you feel prepared for Grade 7? 3.) FIELD TRIP FORMS - Field trip to Sunnyside Park in White Rock. Please ask your parents to drive on Thursday. Return all forms tomorrow! 1.) Have a great weekend!
2.) iPhone / iPod / Digital Camera - On Monday, bring any device that is able to take photos. We aren't quite finished our photography unit! Time for some 'IPHONEOGRAPHY'! 3.) POST A RESPONSE: What types of jobs might the skills you learned through our digital art lessons lead to and why? 1.) ART - Email Sherlock and Mr. Hong a copy of your digital art. Remember it must be in the PNG file format and it must be cut out using the magic want or smart scissors.
2.) POST A RESPONSE: What have you learned so far from working on the Food Chain Interactions mini-project? What have you learned so far about how organisms interact? What do you think would happen to certain prey in any ecosystem if you introduce a non-native predator? (Please try to respond to all 3 questions). 1.) MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL - Congratulations to all of you who participated in the Grouse Grind. You should be really proud of yourselves. I bet you learned a great deal about yourselves today, not the least being that you can be successful!!!!
2.) HW - Complete any work that was assigned by Ms. Bonhert yesterday. 3.) POST A RESPONSE: What did you learn about yourself after completing the Grouse Grind today? 1.) FIELD TRIP: Grouse grind tomorrow! Be in class by 8:15 at the latest! Email me if your parents are driving! Please post a message here to acknowledge that you have read this message about the hike tomorrow. I have the parents of Minnie, Mickey, Cole McGrath, Katniss, Cat, and Unicorn Boss all driving tomorrow. If anything has changed, please let me know as soon as possible.
2.) HW: Due on Thursday - I will not collect your science tomorrow 1.) Edit your photos using Pixlr and upload then to the presentation I shared with you on Google Docs/Drive. Refer to the write ups I mentioned in class as good examples.
2.) Make sure you have your cardboard in class tomorrow. 3.) Post a response to the following question: What is the most important skill you have learned this year and why? 4.) I will upload the photos at about 8pm. 1.) SCIENCE - Bring a piece of cardboard that is about twice the size of a regular piece of paper.
2.) Art (Google Drive) - Collaborative work (Superduperman's super idea!) - Check your e-mail and work on the document. You must write your real first name followed by 2 of your favourite photos. If you want to use pixlr to edit your photos, go ahead. We will be learning simple editing functions next week and we will also start using Instagram to give each other feedback. 3.)
