Today, we will be learning about circles! You will be taking measurements of various objects and learning about radius, diameter, and circumference! I once won the gold medal at the circle drawing olympics. I will see if I can post a video of my skills for you later today. Yesterday, you started your new art assignment. Students were very creative! The image on the left was made by Shannon. I think she used a canvas/fabric back drop and string to create the fist. Others have created drawings, videos, etc. Be as creative as you can be! I look forward to seeing your final work tomorrow! Keep uploading your work to your ART channel for feedback.

IMPORTANT:
1.) Complete the Math pre-test on Teams if you didn't do this yesterday.
2.) Complete the CORE COMPETENCY self-assessment if you didn't do this yesterday.
3.) Update FreshGrade, Teams, and the class website daily.

SHAPE OF THE DAY:
1.) Follow instructions on the weekly newsletter. (updated by 9:30am)

2.) POST A RESPONSE:

Continue giving peers feedback on their essays.
Edit/revise your essay. All teacher feedback should be finished by Friday.

Good afternoon everyone! Our daily check-ins and lessons will work a little differently from now until the end of the year. Because I will be teaching at Laurier on Mondays and Tuesdays, it is unlikely we will be able to have the daily check-ins on those days. However, you are still responsible for giving the morning message on Teams a thumbs up to indicate you know what to do for the day. Follow the class website and the weekly newsletter for all learning activities. The weekly newsletter has been posted and as always, it is updated daily. Be sure to review it every morning for updates.

IMPORTANT:
1.) Click here for the weekly newsletter. Be sure to show this to your parents.
2.) You must complete the CORE-COMPETENCY self-assessment on TEAMS today. This is an essential component of your final report card. It will be posted shortly. Complete this with a parent if you can and discuss it with them.
3.) Complete the MATH PRE-ASSESSMENT posted on TEAMS ASSIGNMENTS.
4.) Black lives matter art assignment criteria sheet.

SHAPE OF THE DAY:
1.) Follow the learning activities on the weekly newsletter.

2.) POST A RESPONSE:

As many of you have heard, an African American man was murdered by a police officer this past week.
This incident has caused global outrage, especially in North America. There have been peaceful protests in Canada, but not so peaceful protests in the USA.
Your job is to post a paragraph about your opinions about what is going on right now as a result of the George Floyd murder.
In your paragraph, you should include:
1.) Engaging hook
2.) 2-3 points and supporting details on what you think of what has happened and what is currently happening. Don't forget to back up your points with supporting details. Remember, you may need to do a little research for this. (Ask your self - Why is this happening? Is it simply because of Floyd's death? Is it necessary?)
3.) Conclusion
4.) Ask 2 students questions about their responses.
5.) Reply to any comments/questions you receive
