Alphabet Photography

Today, you started your track rotations. Track and Field is one of the oldest sports and it goes back to ancient times. Click here to read a little bit about it. Also, this website has quite a few resources on 'ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS' if you look along the left side of the screen. This may be one of the sources you use to research your ancient civilization. Where do you think track and field originated from? Were men and women allowed to compete? Why or why not? Do you think this was fair? Did it promote equality? Feel free to post your response on this weekend's PAR.

IMPORTANT: CLASS/GROUP PHOTOS ON MONDAY
1.) MATH:

Complete 3 'REFLECTION' handouts.
Watch this video to to help you understand 'REFELCTIONS'. You should watch this to help you better understand this topic.
Here is another video to help you understand 'REFLECTIONS'.

2.) NOVEL APPROACH:

Work on your powerful responses based on the rubric.
Edit/revise/change/add to your powerful response based on the feedback and based on your self-assessment.
Don't forget to add an inviting lead and conclusion. To do well on this assignment, you must follow the criteria/rubric.
Post any questions/comments here.

3.) ART:

Take your photos for your alphabet photography assignment using the skills you have learned (rule of thirds, fill the space, perspective/leading lines

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

You have a post a response holiday because I want you to focus on Math, Novel Approach, and Art.
However, after you have uploaded your photos to your Google Drive folder, YOU MUST SHARE your folder with me at [email protected]
Post a quick message here about some unique photos you took and post your shared link to your folder so others can see your pictures.
If you have any questions, please post them here or feel free to email me.

@Mr. Hong I do have a camera on my phone but what I am thinking about is that my house is not suitable for taking pictures because it's messy and I don't go out much with my family and sometimes we just drive around so I don't get the chance to take pictures :/.

@ Dotta - No problem. If you are able to, maybe you can do it at school in the morning tomorrow, during recess, or during lunch. Do your best to go for a walk with someone in your family or your friends today and maybe you can get it done?

@ Khushi - Track and field rotations. It is also known as 'ATHLETICS'. Running, shot put, discuss, high jump, etc.

@ Ozem - HAHAHAHAHA! You make me laugh! Get creative! Go for a nature walk with your family. Make sure you use different angles. Get down on the ground to use the worm's eye view and get on top of things to use the bird's eye view!

@ Khushi - Take photos for ever letter of the alphabet. Then, create a folder on your Google Drive called 'ALPHABET PHOTOGRAPHY'. After that, please share it with my email address [email protected]. Do your best to use the skills we have learned in class.

Feedback: Make sure you tap your screen when you take your photos so they are focused. You don't want to have blurry images.

@ Mr. Hong - i might not be able to take pictures because on Saterday i went to Vasaki and on Sunday my brother took me to the Grouse Grind to find out it was closed then he made me hike around the entire forest 2 or 3 times.

@ Richard - How did the hike go? How old is your brother? That would have been the perfect opportunity to take photos! You were out in nature! I hope you were able to take pics at Grouse Mountain.

@ Mr. Hong - my brother hates taking photos more than dicing onions slowly without goggles. I tried asking him but he only took like 4 and hes not creative.

@ David R. - Yes, I agree. it is challenging. Always manage your time more wisely by starting early so you don't feel pushed for time. I see that you figured out the Google docs folder. Click on the blue NEW button in the top left corner. Choose folder and then upload your new photos to that folder. Be sure to click on the folder later and share it with my email address. Do you best!

@ Everyone - I am so impressed with the students who have shared their photos with me so far. The pictures are great. One thing to work on is focussing your images. Be sure to tap on your screen or press your shutter button half way before taking your shots.
