Crazy Hair Day!

Today is crazy hair day! During our morning meeting, I will provide a link during our class meeting for everyone to click on so we can all share our crazy hair with one another. This will give us an opportunity to be social virtually and to stay connected to one another! I hope everyone will participate! During this time, it is important that we all stay connected. If you haven't already done so, make sure you are chatting on the phone and online with your classmates. Call someone from class today who you haven't spoken to in a long while, I'm sure they will appreciate it!

You should be making progress on your Novel Approach work. Some students still need to post their Google Docs on their FreshGrade portfolios and their NA Channels on teams. DO THIS TODAY!

Also, be sure to upload your special image and video to the folder on the criteria sheet shared in your photography channel yesterday for the special day coming up. This is due by the end of the day tomorrow. Make this priority number 1!

Density is even present in my morning cappuccino!

Good morning! It looks like it is going to be another glorious day with a high of 18 degrees celsius! Try to get outside to take more photos for your project! Be sure to share them in your photography channels for peer feedback! Also, you are allowed to use any composition techniques in your photos. Try to make sure it is very clear which letter is being displayed!

Tomorrow is crazy hair day! I will post a link during tomorrow's meeting where we will all be able to share our crazy hair with one another. I look forward to everyone participating! I will count this towards participation! ;-)

LEARNING INTENTION:
- I can give one student feedback using the criteria below.
- I can respond to general feedback from Mr. Hong and to feedback from my classmate.
- I can edit/revise my work to improve it.
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) Go back to yesterday's PAR and make sure you have completed it according to yesterday's criteria.
2.) Give one student feedback based on the criteria for yesterday's PAR.
3.) Add detailed supporting sentences. You must have 2 points. This means you should state how you plan on staying MOTIVATED to stick to your daily work schedule and an example of how you will do this for each supporting point. Use transition sentences like for example, to illustrate, and according to.
4.) Check your writing to make sure you have used the standard paragraph structure (intro, body, and conclusion)
5.) Check for the givens - spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure.
6.) Edit/revise as needed.

May the 4th Be With You!

It looks like today will be a glorious day for learning! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and hopefully you have had a restful weekend! Be sure to get outside to read or for some physical activity! Motivation is another component of learning that greatly influences your learning! Today's PAR will require you to post a paragraph on how you will stay motivated to keep to your personal work schedule. Also, today is a special day! It is May 4th, and this is a day that many people celebrate the Star Wars franchise! If any of you are Star Wars fans, be sure to do something special to celebrate today!

1.) In a shared Google Doc/Office 365 Word Document, create a daily work schedule for yourself.
2.) It must include time slots for time slots between 9am - 3pm.
3.) This must also include 15 minute break periods between each assignment/subject area you complete. This will be necessary to help you SELF-REGULATE your learning.
4.) Give yourself 45 minutes for lunch.
5.) Post this shared link (EDIT ACCESS) for me on FreshGrade.
6.) Print this out if possible.
7.) I will assess this and give you feedback directly on your document.

In this time of adversity and uncertainty, the learning never stops! Day in and day out, your ability to use the Big 6 Learning Principles impresses me! You are all taking ownership of your learning by focusing on learning intentions, success criteria, asking/responding to thinking questions, completing self/peer assessments, and by giving/responding to descriptive feedback! KEEP IT UP!

IMPORTANT:

No more online book clubs with Mr. Hong this week. I will participate in your channels along side all of you to help push your thinking and your learning! You did a great job yesterday! Keep it up!
Math test following the morning Check-In
Make sure your FreshGrade is up to date by the end of the day.

SHAPE OF THE DAY:

1.) MATH:

Complete all weekly activities and upload to FreshGrade if this has yet to be done.
The math test will be sent out on TEAMS at 11:30am. You must complete it within a timely manner without using your notes/textbook. You should have all your rules memorized.
You must finish your test on TEAMS ASSIGNMENTS.
Comment on FG with your score.

2.) PE:

Upload evidence of daily exercise to FG along with your comment. Comment must follow our criteria for posting.

3.) LA/NOVEL APPROACH:

No online meeting/book club with Mr. Hong today. I will participate in your channels alongside all of you.
Criteria for daily participation: Each student is required to contribute 2 questions and 2 responses on a daily basis.
Complete your POWERFUL RESPONSE graphic organizer for your novel at the end of your Novel Approach Packages. Upload to your NOVEL APPROACH CHANNEL ON TEAMS to share with your group.

4.) Self-assess how things have been going for you and include something you need to do to improve on during this time.
