I am sure that the last few weeks have been somewhat challenging for some of you. I am looking forward to returning on Monday in good health! I will review some things you have covered over the last two weeks. If we need to extend any deadlines for anything, that is something we can also do. Over the weekend, please continue working on your Novel Approach documents on Notebook using the template provided yesterday. See you Monday!

To make a motor you need copper wire, a battery, two paper clips, and a magnet. First, find a pen or use your finger and wrap the copper wire around it. Make sure both ends of the wire aren’t wrapped. Then sand the tips that aren’t wrapped. Second, attach the paper clips to both sides of the battery. Make sure that the paper clips have small holes in them. Lastly, put the coil through both holes on the paper clip. Place the magnet on the battery and you have a complete simple motor circuit. If electricity can make magnetism, then the coil is magnetized. All magnets have a positive side and a negative side. Opposites attract and likes, repel. Since there is a magnet and the coil, they attract and repel over and over making the copper wire spin. That’s how you make a motor.

Electricity makes magnetism, so when you connect them together, they create a powerful force. The cycle starts from the battery, which is the circuit that makes the electrons start going. The electrons travel up the paperclip, onto the wire of the coil and start magnetizing it to start spinning. The same idea happens on the other side and so, when both sides of the moving electrons connect, they repel and that causes the coil to started spinning and it becomes magnetic. Magnets have a positive and negative side so when placing the magnet under the coil, make sure it is on the positive side so it can start making the coil spin and help it become magnetic.

How does a motor work? Well, it may sound complicated, but in reality, it's really simple. Believe it or not, motors can be found in every day objects, such as fans, household appliances, and vehicles. Typically, electric motors operate through the interaction between a magnetic field and an electric current. So, when a complete circuit is created, the electrons within a battery produce flowing electricity. That electricity continuously travels to an apparatus, which then is connected to a solenoid coil. Additionally, when there is a circuit, the electricity inside creates magnetism. This means that as electricity flows through a circuit, the solenoid coil slowly becomes magnetized. Furthermore, as a permanent magnet is placed near the solenoid coil, the magnetism in the coil starts to interact with the permanent magnet. Moreover, the north and south ends of both magnets start to attract and repel, which is what causes the coil to start spinning. In conclusion, a motor is able to work because of the interaction between electromagnetism and a permanent magnet.

FEEDBACK: Include the paperclips in your explanation. For example, maybe you could talk about how the electrons flow through the metal of the paperclips. Then, since the solenoid coil is rested on the two holes of the paperclips, the electricity will flow through the solenoid coil and make the ring magnetized.

How do motors work? Electric motors work by converting electrical energy to mechanical energy in order to create motion. Force is generated within the motor through the interaction between a magnetic field and winding alternating (AC) or direct (DC) current. The basic idea of an electric motor is really simple, you put electricity into it at one end and an axle (metal rod) rotates at the other end giving you the power to drive a machine of some kind. When an electric current starts to creep along a wire, it creates a magnetic field all around it. They operate using principles of electromagnetism, which shows that a force is applied when an electric current is present in a magnetic field. This force creates a torque on a loop of wire present in the magnetic field, which causes the motor to spin and perform useful work. In conclusion, this is what causes the motor to work and how the motor works!

How does an electric motor work? It might sound complicated but it's simple. A motor is made out of a battery, paper clips use as a conductor, a permanent magnet, and coil wire used as a solenoid. Attaching all the materials together makes a circuit which generates electricity. The coil wire that is bent into a circular shape turns into an electromagnet because electricity creates magnetism. The magnetized coil wire has North and South ends which causes it to repel and attract. Then, the permanent magnet interacts with the coil wire causing it to spin. This is how an electric motor works.

How does a DC motor work? On Friday, Division One used paper clips, copper wire, a battery, and several magnets to make a self-propelling motor. Then, they practiced explaining how it worked. To start off, because paperclips are a great conductor, electrons can easily pass through it. In addition, since copper wire is a conductor as well, it can let the current run as well. Therefore, when the coil of copper wire is placed into the holes of the two paperclips, the electrons from the battery flow out of the two poles, into the paperclip and coil ring, and back again. This cycle of movement continuously runs, and hence, become a circuit. In addition, the middle of the coil of wire is a ring of many coils looped around together. Because electricity creates magnetism, there will be a strong magnetic field around the ring; the specific part of the ring is especially strong because there more coils mean more magnetic fields. When so many smaller magnetic fields are put together, the coiled ring produces a stronger and bigger magnetic field. Finally, there is a permanent magnet near the coil of wire. Since it too has a magnetic field (both of which have a north and south side), the two magnetic fields will interact with each other and constantly repel and attract each other. For example, if both magnetic fields were initially north and north, they would repel each other. Therefore, the solenoid coil would be pushed. Do you know how an simple electric motor works? A simple motor is made of a battery, some paper clips, a permanent magnet, and last a copper solenoid wire. When you put everything except the permanent magnet you made the copper wire magnetized creating an electric magnet. After, when you add the permanent magnet under the electric magnet the permanent magnet begins to attract and repel the electric magnet. The permanent magnet attracts and repels the electric magnet because north and south ends making the magnet to attract and repel. When the copper solenoid wire is being attracted and repelled is will begin to spin very fast an is own. That is how an simple electric motor works.

The electrons flow thorough the circuit, out of the battery, into the paperclips, into the solenoid, and back to the battery, which creates a circuit. Then, the solenoid becomes magnetized by the electricity. Lastly, I will start spinning, and become a motor.

This device requires a battery, solenoid coil, paper clips, a permanent magnet, and tape in order to spin a solenoid coil automatically. First of all, it functions because inserting the solenoid coil/wire into the holes in the paper clips allows the electrons from the battery to flow in one of the paper clips. Then, the electrons flow through the solenoid wire, the other paper clip, and back into the battery, thus creating a complete circuit. Through this process, the solenoid coil is magnetized by the electricity, so it has north and south poles like the permanent magnet. In order to make a motor you must do these things. The motor is made from a circuit with electrons and magnetism which is an infinite loop. Electricity can be able to create magnetism so if you connect a battery with an electricity or electricity-related item it would form magnetism.

The electric motor can work by simply putting 2 paper clips folding them, tapping them on the battery. And folding the coiled wire into a circle with both left/right ends. Lastly you could simply put the magnet below the coiled circle.

As the magnet is pushing some energy from the battery it flows out of the battery into a metal wire (the paperclip), the coiled wire is also connected to the paperclip so the energy would also free it’s self to the coiled wire. Then finally the coiled wire would spin up/down because energy and magnet form a motor which is magnetism.

In conclusion I think that magnetism is a important word because this word is about how magnets and electricity could work together.
