Math Facts

Today, students learned a little about digital citizenship, how to co-create success criteria, worked on their name-cards, and did some math review. In addition to this, we had a book talk about 'ONE FOR THE MURPHY'S' and we started our first read aloud together. We will do a little bit of math review before starting on our Gr. 7 materials. We have been paired up with Mr. Fisher's class as part of our learning pod so all Gr. 7 students have an opportunity to interact with each other while maintaining coid protocols. #TheLearningNeverStops
IMPORTANT:
1.) Bring a mobile device to use in class when needed. Again, you are 100% responsible for your device.

LEARNING:
1.) MATH REVIEW:

Complete all assigned math worksheets (3).
Mark/Correct in class tomorrow.

2.) LA/WORDWORK:

Due Friday
- Definition in your own words (not the dictionary definition)
- One sentence using the word

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

If you have not yet completed Friday's and yesterday's PAR. Please complete before doing today's. START THE YEAR OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT AND COMPLETE ALL YOUR WORK!
Today, we discussed criteria for posting on our class website. Write a paragraph that includes criteria on how to post on our class website.
LEARNING INTENTION: I can create a paragraph that includes criteria for posting on our class website.
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) Paragraph format (intro, body, and conclusion)
2.) Includes at least 3 things you must do when posting on our class website.
3.) Edit/revise your paragraph for spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. (THE GIVENS).
4.) Post your paragraph

What do you think we should and shouldn’t do on our class website? Well, I’m gonna share what I think we should and shouldn’t do. Firstly, I think we shouldn’t post random comments like ”wassup”. But I think it is fine if we say things like “first”. We shouldn’t do this because it makes it hard for students to see the comments that relate to school. Same with Mr. Hong. Secondly, I think we shouldn’t ignore the instructions on the website and then post the wrong work. But what we should do is follow instructions on the website and only post things that relate to school. We should also respond to questions if anyone has any that are relating to school. Lastly, I think that we should check the class website on a regular basis because if there are things we need to see we won’t see it if we don’t check the class website. This is what I think and I hope you all follow my criteria.

One thing I think we should do on the class website is to not crowd the comments with random stuff, saying first second third whatever is fine but nothing that has no purpose. Something else we should do is only chat and stuff in the newest thread so we don't have to check past ones. Lastly, I think we should not write inappropriate stuff cause this is for school.

three things i think we shouldn't do is 1: Being Mature and not post random things anymore, after all we are gr sevens we gotta be the role model. 2: i think everyone should come on right after school to complete the PAR and 3: we should not spam the chat we should always be replying not commenting so it saves space and there isnt like 30000 different comments 😅 by the way my dad watched the videos, but his reacting is like 😐😐😑😑

These are the criteria you should follow during posting things on the class website. Firstly, you should mostly post only the PAR because as Mr.Hong said, if you post something that`s not the PAR, you need to scroll down a lot to see the PARs. Secondly, you should post your PAR before the next PAR is posted because if you didn't do the PAR before the next PAR is posted, you will need to do more work next day. Lastly, you can give feedback to people like in the Big 6 Learning Principles. I think these are the criteria you should follow for posting on the class website.

The Class website's 'Post A Response' is a place where students can post a comment and reply to people's saying and/or do assignments assigned by the teacher. Not only is this a good environment to talk about other's work, it is also a place to say "first" before anybody else. Some rules to state in the 'Post A Response' are: Do not type your last name. Posting your last name will directly affect your privacy of anyone that's here. Another rule to set is: Do not start a conversation of any kind. While this rule is lightly taken, it is still part of the rule book. Lastly, the rule that is the most important is: Do your assignments wisely and on time. While doing your assignment on the next day is fine, it will stay on top of your head and will make you more stressed. So those of you that don't do your homework until a long time after, you know what to do O-O

Three rules that I am going to add to our C Chart. The first rule that I am going to suggest is to not post any random text and spamming because if someone just said Hello 10 times in a role. It will take a lot of time just scrolling down all the unnecessary comments that is not related to school and also for the people who wants to post a comment that is related to school. My second rule that I am wanting to share is to be respectful when posting comments. This means that when you are posting make sure it wont hurt anybody's feelings. So try posting comments in a respectful way. My last rule for our C Chart is answering our classmates questions. It would be kind of awkward if you ask a question on the chat and nobody answer you. So I think if anybody has any questions we should reply them as fast as we can. And these are my rules that i want to share with my class!

This class website is for weekly notices and assignments, not only that, but it is also a place for students in our class to 'Post A Response'. PAR is where students receive an assignment and write a paragraph for it in the comments section, it is a required and a daily assignment in which we must do everyday. Along with the assignments, there are some rules that go along in writing in the comments' section. Firstly, it is very important that when writing a comment, you do not write your last name or your email. Secondly, conversations in the comments' section that are informal and unnecessary are restricted, although this rule isn't very strict, it is professional for us grade seven's to be able to follow such a rule. Lastly, assignments handed to us should be done on time as it will show our time management skills. If a piece of work is not done, you simply will just have to finish it the next day. If not, your work will continuously pile up, to prevent this, it is only best if you finish your work.

I think that the criteria for posting on this website should be: First, not posting random comments. Secondly, everyone should do the PAR before the next day. Third, if you forget to do the PAR then do it in the correct chain of posts and not one for the new PAR. Lastly, I think that we should always read the all the instructions carefully so that we don’t miss anything and post an incomplete PAR. I think that these criteria are very easy to follow and I will be following them so that I can post complete comments on time.

Here are my ideas for the website: First I think that we should not use this for a general conversation but to use it for PAR (post a response).
Second: Next is not to waste space saying "wassup" or "how u doin bro" because its just a wast of time to scroll through the comments.to get to the bottom or to see if its for PAR. Third: Just read the instructions so you can understand it and post the right comment. Well those are my ideas.

The comment section of Mr hong's website is a place to post your par and comment first the fastest. We do need some criteria for the comment section. 1st don’t include any personal or sensitive information while commenting. 2nd complete your work according to the success criteria, always check work. 3rd complete your work on time. That is my success criteria for the Mr hongs website.

Like how we try to be the first ones on the website and say 1st, not actually to do par the fastest you can. That would be a big mess.

Post a response also known as P.A.R is the comment section on Mrhongsclass.com. You can comment on it for homework and other things, but other things do not mean everything. You shouldn't post things like "Hey BRO!" because it will fill up the comment section and it will be hard for others to look for actual responses. Though you can say "Hi" or "First", it's best not to start a full on conversation with your friends and peers!

Criteria:
First you shouldn't criticize peoples work but you can still give them feedback. Also make sure to only use the website for work purposes only, for example don't keep saying hi or first so it will be easier for others to reply and PAR. So you are caught up with the work always check the website once or twice a day. Any time you have a question don't be afraid to ask the teacher or a friend. Also remember to S.O.A.R.! This is my criteria, you can give feedback if there is something you think would make it better.

Everyday you have to post something on the class website, but there are some things that are not necessary to do. For example, try not to say first or second as if it is a race. If you do that, then some students would have to scroll all the way down in order to do their work. You should also be sure that you don't be mean. For example, no saying bad words or giving mean feedback. You should always check spelling, grammar, etc before posting your work. Trying to finish your work in time is also important. So use the website properly and focus.

I am going to list some success criteria of posting a response (PAR) on the website. Firstly, we should not post anything unnecessary for work, this could make the others scroll all the way down to the part that has actual work, which is a waste of time. Secondly, we should do the PAR right after we are back at home because we have to keep the work up to date. Lastly, follow the instructions carefully to be closer to success.

Things I believe we should make sure and know while posting is that this is a public website and that people outside our class can see this. Since we dont know who is looking at this. As well as make sure to only put your first name and leave everything blank because you just dont know who's looking at your post. Lastly I believe that we should only use comments for PAR only since it does get confusing. Those are what I believe we should and must do on the school web.

Hello everyone, this paragraph will be a criteria on posting on our class website.

First, you need to make sure that your work is appropriate and something not disrespectful in any kind of way.

Second, you must make sure your work is properly constructed, do this by checking your spelling mistakes.

Third, make sure you don’t use oral language or slams in an assignment and instead use a proper writing vocabulary.

As we know schools started, we are doing lot of experimenting within school and at home to protect each other and ourselves. Though, I think something that should be stated is no random chatting on the website. Asking a question about something that the person had said for work is perfectly fine but asking everyone something about like what they scored on an unrelated game is a bit messy. The second one is that we should be respectful of each other. Things we may be joking about may hurt other feelings. Lastly, DO NOT TYPE YOUR LAST NAME. The website is not secure and anyone that visits this will have access to your personal information and put risk to yourself. This website is for school, be responsible.
