In September, the division 4 students created their 'Learning Journeys' and created passion pages where they independently maintain and write about things they are genuinely interested in. In addition to this, they all created 'PASSION TRAILERS' which further developed the connections they made with one another. To conclude our Term 1 Connection building Unit, the students worked on writing activities that helped them complete their 'ONE SENTENCE PROJECT' (final edits have yet to be made). This project was inspired by Daniel Pink and you can learn more about it here.
1.) MATH 6 - Chapter 9 Lesson 4 Worksheet (SHOW ALL YOUR WORK)

2.) SOCIALS 6/7 - After reviewing the summaries and paraphrases you completed over the last week, I get a strong sense you are prepared for your newscast assignment. As usual, we generated parts of the criteria using Today's Meet. It was great receiving feedback from all of you indicating that this was your favourite medium for brainstorming ideas. Remember, part of digital fluency is knowing what to use and not bombarding yourself with a million different platforms! It is great seeing how your 'DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP' skills have improved since September! After we discussed the points as a class, we wrote down the important points on the board. You will receive the criteria sheet tomorrow in your 'DRIVES'.
3.) WRITE A RESPONSE: Find the lyrics to your favourite song and do the following (Thank Ms. Wilson for the great idea!)
a.) Identify and post 2 poetic devices from the lyrics of your favourite song. Be sure to include the complete sentences from the lyrics. Refer to your Collaborative Google Doc for a list of the different poetic devices.
b.) Post the title of the song and the artist
c.) Post a brief statement explaining why you enjoy the song.
