IMPORTANT:
1.) STUDENT GOAL SETTING CONFERENCES: If you haven't already, speak with your parent or guardian about arranging a 15-minute time slot for your goal setting conference with Mr. Hong. Please see the email that Mr. Hong sent - it has a Google Doc that parents and guardians can use to signup for a time slot.
2.) SELF-REGULATION REMINDER: Remember to practice self-regulation at all times during the day. From the moment you walk into the school, throughout your time in class (e.g. during a lesson and independent work time), up until you leave school for the day - practice self-regulation and SOAR.
LEARNING:
1.) MATH:
- JUMP Math pg.'s 64-65 (and pg.'s 61-63 if you haven't done those already) - be sure to COMPLETE, MARK, and CORRECT your work *there will be a homework check tomorrow.
- *Begin reviewing JUMP Math pg.'s 55-69 for your upcoming assessment this Thursday.
2.) SCIENCE:
- Complete your climate change current event summary - *we will be presenting them on Wednesday and Thursday, so have your summary printed and ready to read as your presentation.
3.) LA/WRITING:
- Work on your scary short story - let's try to have these completed by Friday in time for Halloween!
4.) POST A RESPONSE:
- Today, you started working on your science assignments. One component of this is to write a summary of the article you have chosen.
- Students who do not complete the PAR according to expectations will have their parents contacted to help remind you to complete your daily work.

SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) Watch this video.
2.) Instead of reading, watch the video on today's BC Covid Update.
4.) In paragraph format, write a summary of the article in your own words.
5.) You must use the 6 step process from the video, but you are not limited to 5 words per
sentence. Feel free to use more, but keep your sentences short and concise.
6.) Check your writing for the givens/conventions (spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar, and
sentence structure.
7.) Give one student feedback on how they can improve their summary of the news video based on
the above success criteria.
8.) Edit/revise paragraph based on peer-feedback or a self-assessment.
