Body Systems

Thank you to the parents for scheduling your conferences. There are still a few spaces left for those of you who have not yet done so. Today, students continued working on self/peer assessments of their paragraphs and learned about online privacy in ADST. In math, students received their math tests, wrote learning reflections, and completed a pre-assessment for the fractions unit. In the afternoon, students made their ecosystems observations and also organized their body systems projects with their groups.

IMPORTANT:
1.) CONFERENCE SCHEDULE: Charley (3:05), Sophie (3:20), and Orion (3:35).

2.) BOOK FAIR: Bring money for the book fair.

LEARNING PLANNER:
1.) READING: 30 minutes

2.) LA WRITING: Rough copy and peer assessment must be completed by tomorrow.

3.) MATH: Complete learning reflection if you did not complete it in class.

4.) SCIENCE: Body systems - Draw your diagram and label the different parts/organs.

5.) POST A RESPONSE:

Watch the posted video. Use what you have been learning about paragraph writing with Mr T. in your PAR today.
LEARNING INTENTION: I can explain 'THE BIG IDEA' of the video that was posted today.
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
1.) PARAGRAPH FORMAT: intro/body/ conclusion.
2.) GIVENS: Pay close attention to your spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, etc.
3.) INTRO: Make it as exciting and engaging as possible.
4.) BODY: Include at least 2 supporting points from the video that helped you get the 'BIG IDEA'.
5.) CONCLUSION: Tie up your paragraph smoothly.
6.) PEER FEEDBACK/SELF-ASSESSMENT: Give 1 student 2 things to improve on based on the above criteria.
7.) REVISED VERSION: Based on the feedback you receive or the self-assessment you complete, post a revised version as a reply to your original post.

I think the big idea of the video is about kindness and that it spreads. For instance, the construction worker helped a kid who fell off his skateboard. Therefore, giving that kid the KIND-VIRUS. Yeah, and I couldn't get cornier. Anyway, that kid then helped a senior, who needed help. Then, the senior also caught the virus and helped many more people. So go the extra mile and spread the KIND-VIRUS.

Self assessment: write more detail and talk about how it connects to the big idea.

I think the big idea of the posted video is about kindness and how it’s spreads. For instance, after the construction worker helped the boy get up, that boy was infected with the kindness virus. Mhm, that’s officially a thing now. Anyway, by helping the kid, it is a sign of kindness. Then, afterwards, that same kid helped a senior cross the street, which then gave them the kindness virus. Bottom line, a small kind deed can lead to a chain reaction of kindness. SO GO THE EXTRA MILE AND BE KIND!!!

This video is about how kindness can spread, how it can come back to you. Kindness is like a cycle, the orange vest man gave others kindness and then he got kindness back from others. That is why it is call a kindness boomerang. If everyone did one little act of kindness every day, then the world would soon be filled with kindness.

This video is about how you can show kindness by doing little things; A little kindness can change someone's day or even life. My grandma once told me a story about when she was younger. She helped a kid when he was being bullied, and then without a warning, he moved away. And eventually, my grandmother forgot about him. Twenty years later, the kid-turned-teenager came back and thanked her for her help. He told her that her action had encouraged him to help people that were in trouble. In the video, the man with the orange vest helped the teenager with the skateboard. Then the teenager helped the old lady with a huge mountain of groceries. Then the old lady helped the others and kindness spread like a virus, a good one though. Eventually, someone else gave the orange vast man some water as he was getting thirsty. The video showed me that sometimes, good people get what they deserve.

This video demonstrates how doing small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Someone's day or perhaps entire life could be changed by a simple act of kindness. My grandmother once told me a story to me about when she was younger. When she stood up for a child who was being bullied, but then he suddenly moved away. My grandmother eventually forgot about him. The child, now a teenager, visited twenty years later and expressed gratitude for her assistance. He explained to her how her action had motivated him to aid those who were in need. The man in the orange vest who was in the video helped the skateboarder. The skateboarder then assisted the elderly woman with the enormous mound of groceries. The elderly woman then assisted the others. Kindness spread like a virus—but a good one. The man in the orange vest eventually received some water from another person since he was beginning to get thirsty. The video demonstrated to me that nice people sometimes get what they deserve.

I believe the "big idea" of this video is that just by one kind move you make you can spread kindness all around! Just like in the video, the person with the vest helped the kid with the skateboard and from there you could see the kindness spreading as if it was a disease but a harmless one. Being kind rather than being mean can make the world a better place. I believe that positivity and kindness is the most powerful thing on earth.

This video has given me the knowledge that if you be kind, everyone will be happy.

This video is about kindness. If you do little acts of kindness it will spread one by one. For example, when the man picked up the boys things and checked to see if the boy was okay, the boy felt happy. So the boy went to go help and old lady carry her groceries and that made the lady happy. After that the lady went to go help another person and that person helped another person. I think the message of this video is kindness will always follow its way back to you. This video taught me how to be kind.

The big idea of the video is that showing kindness to someone will end up with you getting it back, like a boomerang. The guy in the orange vest helps a kid up after falling down from a skateboard. Then the kid helps an old lady with her bags. Then the old lady helps- I think you understand what I mean. After a lot of kindness a waiter gives a cup of water to... the guy wearing a orange vest in the beginning! Wow, it all loops back around. What is the BIG IDEA of the video? Why should we be kind to others? Why should we SOAR? These are all questions to be answered in my PAR.

So what is the BIG IDEA of the video? I think the BIG IDEA is to be kind to everybody, as the smallest acts of kindness can have a big difference in your environment and the people around you. This is also why it's important to be kind to others. e.g. Construction worker helps random kid off floor, then kid holds groceries for old lady, then old lady helped young woman. Just because he helped some kid from a fall, he ultimately spread positivity throughout his environment, and his good deeds came back to him with a glass of lemonade on a sunny day. This is precisely what a kindness boomerang is all about.

Connection: I think this the same idea as SOAR, being supportive, open-minded, awesome, and respectful creates a positive environment around you, ideal for learning.

As expressed, it is so very important to be kind and SOAR all the time if you want to live in a kind, healthy, and positive world.

Have you ever played with a boomerang? Do you know how one works? If you throw it away, it comes back around.

The big idea of the video is that kindness can swing around like a boomerang and maybe it will come back to you. The video start with a kid falling and a construction worker helps him. Then the kid helps an older lady and as the kindness spreads it comes back to the construction worker. This video makes me want to do kind things for people. I think that if the kindness boomerang keeps going it could change the world!

Do you know why being kind and SOARing is important? Well I will be telling you right now.

Kindness is important because without kind people, imagine the world! You can guess and I don't need to tell you, but you must treat people the way you want to be treated. SOARing is also important because if people don't SOAR, then the world would be terrible. Imagine a world like that. BLEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!

Now the video that was posted today, has a big idea, that kindness is important. Throughout the video we see people helping each other, and at the end, the cycle came back to the person who started it. Kindness is contagious is probably what was trying to be said. Every kind act inspires another.

So today we learned that kindness and SOARing are important, because they inspire others to do the same.

Kindness is like a cycle, helping someone will eventually turn into helping yourself. In this video, a man helps a kid get up after the kid falling off a skateboard. Then the kid helps an old woman get across the road. It keeps going on until a waiter gives the man (who helped the kid) a glass of water, just like how i explained it at first, kindness is like a cycle.

I think this vide has a message about spreading kindness or make a Kind-Virus, for example lets say you bounce a basketball on a wall it will always come back just like KINDNESS.

Why do I think that these things are the big ideas is because it happens a lot first the kid might have died because he wasn’t wearing a helmet. For the big idea of leaving stuff behind the kid leaves his skate board also his friends leave him you can see them in the back ground without him. Kindness.
One of the most important things in the world.
It spreads warmth to every corner of the globe, as it is infectious, and this video, "Kindness Boomerang" is just how I am going to prove it. The big idea of this video is showing us how kindness spreads.
On and on, the characters of this video helped each other, and when one helped another, it made their day, so the other person helped a third person. When you are down, others come to help you, would you be grateful? I mean, they just made your day. So if ever, you see a person needing help, like all of the examples in the video (just to list a few), put yourself in their shoes and help them, as your small act will make millions of people's day.

I think the "Big Idea" of this video was kindness. Kindness is important and that it will always get back to you. If you are kind to someone they become happy, and when they're happy the higher the chance that they will be kind to someone else. It will spread worldwide! If someone if sad that can also spread to! This is how it spreads: if I saw a person that was sad and depressed that will make my brain think of bad memories that have happened in my life. Then the boy helped the grandma cross the street and then she helped the woman with the parking machine with a few coins .but in the end the kindness came back to the construction worker. But at the end we probably all realized that helping someone gets them in the mood to help someone else

Example if you see a friend or somebody on the playground that needs help with something like looking for there jacket when you need help with something they might want to help you more. I think that the big idea of the video is that one small act of kindness can go a long way, and it will always come back to you, just like a boomerang. When you are kind to someone, it improves their mood; then they will want to share that happiness with others by returning the kind action to another person. A small gesture of kindness may seem insignificant, but it can make so many people's day infinitely better.

The big idea of this video in my perspective, is that kindness is like a boomerang! Just like the title of the video. The man in the vest helps a little boy who fell off of his skateboard. The boy passes on the kindness to one person, then that person passes it on to the next, and so on. Eventually, the kindness comes back to the man in the vest. Everyone who received kindness payed it forward. That's what we should also be doing. Kindness comes with the price of paying it forward.
