MATH REVIEW

Today, the Gr. 7 students started reviewing the math concepts learned in Gr. 6. We will continue reviewing these concepts until the end of the week. Once we complete the review, we will start the Gr. 7 Numeration unit. We will finish the reading, writing, and math assessments this week. This will give the students and teachers a better idea of where each student is in their learning. We continued creating behavioural 'C-CHARTS' to set the rules and expectations for the year.

IMPORTANT: Please return all forms and materials that went home in the brown envelope today as soon as possible. All fees can be paid online on our school website.

1.) MATH: No homework. Students will continue working on their review booklets in class tomorrow.

2.) ART: Students will complete their Name cards according to the criteria they created in class tomorrow.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today, you continued to work hard at following the behavioural C-charts we created for entering the classroom, during independent work time, and during a lesson.
Create and post a behavioural C-Chart for you. Your C-Chart should include 3-5 points that you should follow once you get home in regards to completing your school work. It should also have 3-5 points for how your parents could support your learning at home.
Try to keep the language as positive as possible and avoid using words like don't or never.
Give 2 students 1 suggestion each on one more thing they cold do to help them compete their daily schoolwork at home.

I think its good but i think you missed the point a bit. Maybe make it more about doing the work at home.

@Kayd, I’m not really sure but I think that we’re supposed to be making a C-Chart for going home and getting started on the daily homework. I see that you put a few points that could fit into it but maybe you could gather all your materials and stuff? For example, if your doing the math worksheet you need a pencil and eraser. Otherwise good job! :D

@Mi, I like that you made your C-Chart in the same format! I have a suggestion to help improve your work quality if you’re working for long periods of time. My suggestion is that you take a 10 minute breaks or something to help refresh your brain. I do that sometimes because working for to long makes me tired and then I mess up.

Myself:
- Check the class website to check to see what homework there is.
- Remove myself from any potential distractions to focus better.
- Put effort into all assignments and make sure I 100% completed them, and check my work to make sure it's correctly done.
- Self-regulate my surroundings.
- Stay on task the whole time.

For my parents:
- Answer any questions I have for them.
- Give me reminders to stay on task and self-regulate.
- Monitor me and make sure I'm doing the assignment correctly.
- Hold off on asking any irrelevant questions.
