You all survived the first week of school! I can already tell we are going to have an exciting year full of wonderful learning. I can feel the energy and enthusiasm every time you all walk into the classroom! This energy will transfer into your learning success! I have outlined everything discussed in class, so please follow the instructions carefully. The passion projects will begin on Monday. What are your passions?

1.) READING: Read for 30 minutes and log it in your planner.

2.) PASSION PROJECTS: (DO THIS WITH YOUR PARENTS)

To help prepare for next week, do the following with your parents:

1.) Create a shared Gmail account with your parents. Your parents must have full access to this
account and it must be different than any other account you may currently use. Watch this
video with your parents to create your gmail account if you don't know how to do it.

Please have your parents use their birthday when signing up as they will be the 'BOSS' of this
co-account and they will have full access to it.

2.) Go to www.animoto.com and create an account with your parents. Again, do this with your
parents because they will be the 'BOSS' of all your online accounts. They must input their
birthday when you sign up.

Once you have created your account, click in the top right corner where you see your account
name after you log in and go to 'ACCOUNT'. Click here to see where you should be clicking.
Then, copy and paste this code into the promo code section so you have full access to the
educational account. EDUCATIONAL CODE: a4ez8tkgdei (IF THE CODE DOESN'T WORK,
don't worry. We can fix it at school.)

Play around with Animoto over the weekend so you are ready for Monday. If you want to start uploading pictures of your passions to Animoto, feel free to do so.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

In paragraph form (intro, body, and conclusion), write about one of your 'PASSIONS' that many students may not know about.
Pay attention to the givens (spelling, capitals, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, etc)
Click here to read a few examples that my previous students have written. Remember, your paragraphs do not have to be this long. It is quality over quantity.
If you're having trouble coming up with one of your passions, watch this video!
As usual, you are required to do the following:
1.) Complete your post a response
2.) Give 2 people suggestions for improvement
3.) Edit/revise your original post based on the feedback you received or a self-assessment.

“Families are like branches of a tree. They grow in different directions, yet their roots remain as one.” Yes, one of my passions (and I think it should be everyone’s passion) is family. Some people think of family as fighting with siblings. Others may think of family as people who help them go through ups and downs. No matter what you think of them, they’re still your family. You may meet other people and friends throughout your life, but you start and end with your family. For me, my family is the compass that guides me. They are the inspiration for me to reach great heights, and my comfort when I occasionally falter. In my family, love is like the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony. I hope that every family has its own special parts and that everyone has a family that will never forget or leave them behind. :)

I love music, music is a world that you can use your imagination, technique, feelings in it.Playing instruments is my favorite passion. You may have questions why I love music?It is because I can use my imaginations to create an incredible music world.I will feel free and be creative in the music world, Music around you. You may feel crazy or rock when you are listening Hip Hop, you may feel calm or peaceful when you are listening classical music. You may ask what instrument I can play? Well, I can play piano, recorder,Saxophone and Clarinet(In the future). My favourite instrument is saxophone because I love Jazz. It usually happens everyday, fighting with my sister once a week. Throwing things to each other when we are both in the red zone everyday. Shouting at each other every moment.However, she is my sister.If she is my sister today, she is my sister until I die. We can't change the truth. We are family. Sometimes, you will think your parents are terrible creatures. They switch off our WiFi when I am playing online games. They will switch off the TV when I am watching movie. However, you have no choice, they are your family. They take care of me when I was young and I will take care of them when they become old.

Very detailed work! I like how your hooks attract the readers into reading more. But just be careful of minor mistakes like space after punctuation, capitalization, and so on. But overall, I really enjoyed reading your piece of writing! :)

"Time for dinner!" my mom yelled. I was too engrossed in the latest novel by Gordan Korman to hear my mom. As you can tell, I love reading. Whenever I, read, I am instantly transported into a completely different world: the main character's world. Whatever the character feels, I feel it too. It feels like I am the main character. I especially love reading mystery and adventure books. The cliffhangers and suspense makes me eager to find out what happens next. Books are like food to me. Ironically, the more I read, the hungrier I get. There are an innumerable amount of books at home, so I never run out, and if I do, that's when I visit the library!
Reading is my life and my passion.

One of my unknown passions is traveling. Here are some of the reasons I love to travel.

The food. I really just like to eat in general, but when i travel to other parts of the world i see and eat lots of food that i would never get in North America. One of my favourite places to visit for the food is Hong Kong. Literally everywhere, you can find street food and 7-elevens.

Another reason I love to travel is because of the culture. When I went to Cambodia their culture was completely different than I have ever . I asked lots of questions about their culture and I got very interesting answers.

The last reason I love to travel is the adventure. I would love to roam down the streets of Italy one day. The environment I was use to was nothing compared to the places i've visited. I also love taking pictures too (even thought i'm not that great at it).
Anyways that is one of my passion that many people don't know about. :)

A passion is not something that is l done by force a passion is something that is done from the love and something that brings joy to you. So what's your passion?

My passion is computer gaming, the reason I say that it's my passion because I truly love to do it and play on my gaming pc brings me so much joy. Whenever I turn on my computer I always feel like I'm entering another world of games and rules. I love building computers too I've been upgrading my computer for 3 months and building and I find it so fun buying parts installing them it like Lego but a lot harder.

So my passion is pc gaming what's yours?

one of my favorite passions is speed stacking. For those of you who don't know what it is I will explain to you what it is. It is basically stacking cups with holes on the bottom. This is my favorite passion because you can challenge your speed, improve your hand movement and it's fun!

"Du yu wuk", or that's what I heard. I was too paying attention to my rubix cube that I did not hear my mom telling me to do work.

That's right, one of my passions is the rubix cube! I find every time I can to start playing with it. Every time I play with it, I try to solve faster and faster, but I can't finish it really fast. ( I don't know how the people on Youtube finish the rubix cube so fast.) I think there is a quicker way to solve it, but I don't know how to solve it.

Otherwise, I still like to finish the rubix cube, and I will work on it.

The reason why reading is one of my favourite passions is because, I really enjoy doing it and there is a strong connection between me and reading. when I read I feel like I am the main character because of the strong details I feel like I am there with the character or I am the character because of books I feel like I got onto an adventure every time i read a good book. That is why reading is one of my favourite passions.

Have you ever drawn the most ugly thing in the world and said to yourself, “That looks pretty cool.”? Yeah, that happens a lot. It’s pretty funny when you show it to someone and they stare at you like you’re from another planet and then ask, “What IS that?”

Drawing really stupid/weird/funny creatures is one of my passions. Drawing in general is really fun for me. I enjoy drawing because it’s a way to show what I’m thinking in an easier way than writing it down. I’m pretty sure I’m a visual learner because I understand things better when can see it. Last year I drew this really crazy looking thing for a science project and my group named it the Demodogprobepuffyfudge500011jr. I remember it had three heads, the left head is a Demogorgan/demo-dog from Stranger Things. The middle head has a moustache and a top hat. Now the third head I can’t remember.... Oh well. It had wings and tentacles and some other stuff too that I don’t remember. That’s why drawing is one of my passions.

One passion that I have is taking photos (also known as photography)

In my passion project i will include a lot of photos that I’ve taken over 3 years. I’ve never really talked about taking photos because I never really thought they were good. Now that I looked through them, I found them to be really good.

The reasons I like hand craft is because, whenever I make something out I feel good about myself making something unique and pretty. Also when I'm making craft I often feel clam, because I need to be patient with my work. Sometimes it took me a long time to finish one project, then I will feel extra proud with it.

If i were to try and describe passions it could possibly take me about 10 minutes to create a satisfying description. I myself am not a very passionate person but that does not mean i am a blank slate. Even i have a couple passions.

Passions are not just something you like, but something you enjoy, and are devoted to. A notable passion may be sports, one may be very dedicated to a certain sport like soccer, that would mean it is their 'passion'.

Family is a broad description, it could mean your aunt, uncle, grandma, brother,
or father; Having a passion for your family should mean the special things you do with them. My family likes to teach, my father has lived through 60 years giving him years and years of knowledge and experience, he can also build furniture building my bed, a queen bed, a sofa with a lid, a cabinet, and a shoe cabinet. My dad has years of experience and knowledge, and with that comes ways to teach, he would often sit us down and just start talking, once the conversation was done we had most likely learned many new lessons. My mother is a kind, understanding person; If something is wrong, she would properly ask what happened before just jumping to a conclusion. If i had issues i would only share it with her because she would be able to listen and understand everything and help me with this issue. I would not have been so enthusiastic without a mother like mine. My brother is not kind on the outside but I do know he does care. He is very smart and occasionally will teach me subjects to improve. As a family we all like to occasionally travel, and teach each other new things.

One of my passions that some people don’t know about is badminton.
I enjoy to play badminton because, when I get mad from someone, I will go to the community center, and find the rackets,and hit the bird as hard as I can. After I hit the bird, I feel calm and happy. I don’t really know why I feel calm after I hit the bird, maybe this is my method to release my anger from someone.

You don't exactly know this passion just by looking at me, but I really like to draw. I don't like doing it a lot because I need to find a picture that I can use to half copy off of, and half creatively draw. I like how drawings can form miniature worlds, and I also really like the fact that we don't NEED to draw something. After all, drawing has many different styles, techniques and types. I always think it's amazing that so many artists can be son creative. I also like the feeling where you complete something amazing and can't help feeling proud of yourself when you're finished. Drawing is just amazing to me.

As you guys all know passion is all about doing something that you enjoyed, that you surely would’ve put all your effort in! So Here, I’ll show you some few examples about my passions!

First one would be absolutely music, I love music just by listen to them and play the instruments. It brings the feeling of happiness or even sadness sometimes.

Second one will be drawing I guess! it’s the best choice for me to do whenever I got bored. I always like the time when I don’t have any limit and just be creative, trying out different styles at drawing. I’m just having so much fun with it. I thought these passions are most addictive thing for me to do!

It’s because it contains all my passions and things i love to do for example I really like making history presentations like all about blah blah blah but I really like playing video games based on history for example Battlefield V (5) because every battle or story is based on a real Battlefield!

One of my passions are you guys might not know about is EV3( A type of lego)
I like it because I start is it play live go and do local lessons when I was four and I never stop did entourage I came to Canada.
My other passion is building stuff out of paper, Some of you guys might know about my passion already, I have a lot of paper guns, sword and A lot of weird stuff at my house. I love to build and that’s why I like building stuff out of paper

Soccer is great for teamwork!

One of my passions is soccer, I love soccer because it has lots of teamwork. It is one of my passion because i feel free playing it. though i feel free playing it there are rules in soccer that you can't break, like not kicking people min the legs because you will get a red card.

My passion would be playing video games because it’s fun it also gets fun when u try out new games. I think passion means feeling, emotion, etc. I also truly love video games and I would also like to play on pc. Sometimes video games also bad because it’s bad for your eyes. U can also play on your phone and iPad. Not just in console or pc.

Well, I like to draw... but I'm pretty sure a lot of people already know about that. I also love horror and music but again, I'm pretty sure a lot of people already know about that.
I thought of this for a while. I don't think too many people know about this but I love to craft a lot of things. For example, a large amount of my chokers and necklaces are all hand created by me. Another thing, is that I like to collect erasers. You know the ones that you can take apart and they're shaped like food and animals? Yeah, those ones. I literally have a pile of them haha. I also like to write horror stories but again, people know about that. I'm not sure how many people know about this one but sometimes I'll put my writing skills and art together to create, comics or manga. I remember the first one I've ever finished took me A YEAR! Now, that I look back on it, it's not the best thing ever compared to all of my work now since my writing and art skills have definetly improved quite a bit since then. Altghough I was pretty young though so I guess you really couldn't expect too much out of me.
