Day 9: Reliable Sources - CRAAP TEST

Flying Penguins on the BBC

Today, the students learned about how to distinguish between reliable and unreliable sources. They had a chance to practice by watching the BBC Flying Penguin video. Click here to show your parents and siblings what you saw. Ask them what they think?!?! we continued learning about place value, expanded notation, and word format. The students learned how to use their place value charts to read large numbers. In addition to this, we continued reading from 'Counting by 7's' and it was amazing to see the wonderful connections the students were able to make with the main character, Willow Change.

1.) MATH 6/7: Complete place value booklets #1-15 if you haven't already complete it. You will have a quiz on Monday on place value, expanded notation, and long word format. If you have any questions over the weekend, post them here.

i think the 3 octipie is fake cause theres like no good pic for it and no videos so i looks sorta fake or people saw a dead octopus and said oh its a new animal holy cow

I think it was fake because how do octopus survive on land. Most of the pictures looked fake. And how do they camouflage.

The website "Tree Octopos" is unreliable because the website is actually a hoax. It was a test for students if they would actually fell for it or not. Cus' anyone could publish anything on the internet and today's students are not prepared to critically evaluate the information they find there. As what Dotta said and the others, the photo was fake lol, I could tell because it was really blurry.

The Tree octopus is a fake because like Logan and Jacob said, " Its blury And it looks Like the backround is photoshopped in." Another reason why I think its fake Is because its a bright red and I think it will be already extinct since its a bright red and all of the preditors can see it from a mile away. :3
