Circle formulas

Today, we started the day with a lesson on digital citizenship. More specifically, we learned more about cyberbullying and empathy. We saw several videos and a slideshow on digital drama. Later in the morning we had PE and finished off our badminton unit. In the afternoon, we learned about circles (area, circumference, radius, and diameter.

IMPORTANT:
1.) NOVEL APPROACH: Powerful Responses will be evaluated tomorrow. Feel free to do more editing/revising if you feel you need it. We will do a self-assessment in class.
2.) DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: Parents, your child will show you a completed handout on cyberbullying today. Please discuss with your child. Please have a discussion with your child about today's lesson. Speak to your child about digital drama.

Today, Division 1 learned about cyberbullying and how to deal with it. Through participating in activities, I have learned a few things about cyberbullying. To start with, I learned what cyberbullying actually is. Although I knew before that cyberbullying is essentially bullying a person online, I did not know that there were two types of it: direct and indirect. For example, if a person is straight up saying rude comments to their classmate, it is direct bullying because the action is evidently directed to the classmate. However, if a person is posting stories such as “Imagine not having ____” and everything they listed is specifically what one of their friends don’t have, it is indirect bullying because it doesn’t state who they are directly it to, nor is it sent specifically to one person. In addition, I learned to “think before you click.” In simple terms, whenever you want to post a comment, post, or simply a direct message text, it is important for a person to first think if their message is going to hurt anyone’s feelings. Although a message or a post may seem perfectly okay for another person, it may be viewed as another meaning for another person; my being exactly sure that it is safe to post something, it ensures that nobody will have their feelings hurt. Finally, I learned how to deal with cyberbullying. For instance, if my friend is being bullied, I can tell a trusted friend or parent to share what is happening. Furthermore, I can stand up to the bully and tell them that it is not okay to behave in such ways. What are some ways you can deal with cyberbullying?

Secondly, I learned that there is a difference between being an upstander and an ally. While an ally is someone who supports the person bullying, an upstander is someone who confronts the bully directly, and tells an adult or a trusted person about it. Finally, I learned that it's important to not only stand up, but empathize when people are getting cyberbullied. It can help you realize how it feels to be in that position. Then, you will be able to think about the things you want to send and post, because you will have sense of what people will feel when you send it out. In conclusion, it's important to understand and be educated about cyberbullying, as it's something that many people around the world face everyday. It comes with a lot of consequences, and may result in horrible things, so we should always remember to be kind and think about the things that we post and send.

FEEDBACK : Remember to check the givens. "Did you know that 7% of Canada's population experiences cyberbullying!" is a question, so it should have a question mark at the end, rather than an exclamation mark.
FEEDBACK 2 : " including Division 1. During the lessons,"Personally, I think this is a pretty abrupt cut. Maybe have a filler sentence like "today, we reviewed the topic of cyberbullying" or just something to fill it and make it a smoother transition.

Does that remind you of anything? Have you done anything like this before, or have you been the person in this situation. Cyber Bullying. Something that can hurt someones feelings mentally, and emotionally. It’s a serious issue despite the person suffering from anxiety, and depression so on. Yes, i’m sure that all of us has at least talked bad about someone many times, or even screen shorted conversations with others, don’t deny it. But, have you thought about how the other person feels? See, put yourself in their position. You’re chatting with one of your friends from school, you send them a video of you dancing to music, or even singing. But, instead of praising them for their doings, you do the opposite. They laugh, and screenshot or save the video that they sent you. They sent it to the entire group chat their in commenting,

“look at this freak, total weirdo”

imagine how you’d feel. Speechless, right? That’s how cyber bullying is. Many people world wide are doing this, which is NOT right. It happens in posts, social media. When was the last time you saw a post trash talking about someone? “

I know I have many times. But, there is one way to prevent it. Let’s say that you’re in a chat, you scroll through messages just curious and bored, then you see someone saying slurs, and offensive words in the chat to someone. You can obviously tell they’re arguing just by the conversations they’re having. But, you see the other person, they’re not saying offensive words, instead, they’re actually educating the other one who is slaying slurs. What I’d do is take a screenshot of the messages, (the person who’s slaying slurs) and report it to an adult. A teacher, they’re parents, or even the principle. Instead of being a by stander, don’t just sit there and let it happen. Take action to prevent it. That’s is what cyber bullying is.

The first thing is the saying of 'think before you click'. Anytime before you share you should always think of what is the possible impact, will anyone feel offended by it, and does it contain things that would mislead people. The second thing I learned is always ask permission before showing posts or other things to other people. A video might be funny to you and your classmate, however, your friend might feel uncomfortable sharing that video. The third thing is don't keep cyberbullying within you. Talk to a friend if you need to, or even just shout it out. Although the best way is to tell it to a trusted adult, if you don't want to just try. Do you think you would encounter cyberbullying one day?

Cyberbullying can be a big issue when they send offensive words to you such as the n-word, c-word, b-word and more if you are a foreigner. 2) Make sure you are following paragraph structure, and listing your main points. As of right now, I'm not able to tell your 2-3 points clearly, so I'd suggest using some transition words just as "Firstly, secondy, etc."

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices, such as phones or computers. This can also be known as 'online bullying'. Cyberbullying has become increasingly common, especially amongst teenagers, as the online community has expanded and technology has become more advanced. Online bullying can include sharing, posting, or sending negative, harmful, or false information about others online. As a result, it can cause embarrassment or humiliation. Our class has spent the past few weeks learning about digital citizenship, and today, we specifically discussed the importance of cyberbullying; a serious issue happening everywhere around us. After watching a few videos and talking about this topic, I learned several things. To begin, I have come to understand that it is critical to be empathetic when being online. To put yourself in other people's shoes and imagine what someone else is feeling or experiencing can have a major effect on your actions. This may help you when posting or sharing things online, as you will think twice on how your audience may react. For example, if I had a horrible day and someone was making it worse, I may want to release the anger by posting my feelings online. However, in this situation, the right decision would be to reconsider what to do before posting anything, as some people may take it in an offensive manner, even though that may not be my intention. In addition to this, I also learned what an upstander and ally is. An upstander is someone who directly responds to a bullying situation by confronting the bully or by informing a trusted adult. This can include telling the bully to stop their behaviour and telling them it isn't funny. Equally as important, do not bully back, as it will not help the situation and only worsen it. On the other hand, an ally is someone who responds to a bullying situation by just supporting the victim. A way to show this could be to comfort or reassure the person being bullied with kind comments or just being there for them as a friend. Nevertheless, the worst thing to do is to be a bystander and letting it happen. Even if you don't feel safe standing up to the bully, there are many more ways to help. Finally, I realized that sometimes the best thing to do when experiencing bullying is to tell someone you are close with, or better yet, a trusted adult. This might sound familiar to you? It is known as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is basically every aspect of bullying but easier and in social media. Cyberbullying normally happens when a post might feel personal to you or when you post something and everyone laugh and makes you feel bad about even sharing it. But what would you might've done if you help if a person got cyber bullied? There are 2 types/ways of doing it call ally and upstander. Ally is when you support the person being bullied in the situation for example, Patrick: be quiet Squidward. Don't be mean to Spongebob or I'm telling Mr. Crabs. In addition, no matter how frustrated you are with what other people are saying, try your best not to get caught up in the drama. Once you do that, you could get bullied yourself, because of something as simple as one's opinion. Furthermore, you should ask permission before sharing content that someone shares to you directly. That person may have an opinion on who sees it, if they sent it to you only, so they may be embarrassed if everyone around them knows about it. As well, people could make fun of them. “Hey, I just posted a comment on somebodys page saying they’re ugly but I didn’t put it under my name and it’s online. Anyways, they won’t even know it’s me their own best friend, even if they did know it’s me why would they care?” Cyber bullying. Does this term seem familiar to you? Well, if it doesn’t cyber bullying is harassing somebody or bullying somebody online. Although, it doesn’t have to be specifically just saying somebody’s ugly or fat cyber bullying could include blackmailing or threats to the point they think they have to support and even end up killing themselves. Today, Mr Hong told us about this story where this guy tricked a girl into sending him pictures, he then proceeds to threaten her that he’s going to tell her family about it. Later on, she made a video posting about how she feels that she is getting any type of support from anybody. This story was incredibly upsetting since the girl ended up committing suicide. Even though I am happy the guy is in jail for what he did I just don’t understand how people can go THAT far on the internet. Personally, I think the internet itps between good and bad. Why? To illustrate, I think that the reason there is some good to the internet is because people may show something like a clothing haul or even a funny video about scenarios that alot of people are anle to relate to. Many people think the internet can be fun since you have all the different social media platforms to decide from like twitter, tiktok, snapchat, instagram, and even discord. Now, although these apps are a way to communicate with people around your similarities or likings this part can turn awful. Everyday, many people struggle finding a way to express their feelings online, I see alot of people like to make things about them and put their selves in the spotlight. Generally speaking, I wouldn’t personally care but i’ve seen people express their sadness online yet someone has to talk about their story. Now, this is where it gets confusing. Many people will reply back to that person saying “shut up” or “don’t comment this, this person is trying to talk about their stuggles about their personal life and you’re out here making it about you.” The reason this could be so confusing is because you have to put your perspective in others shoes. For example, I would say the person who made the video would be a little bit upset and not want to post about their feelings anymore since they saw the comment about a person comparing their life difficulties to the creator of the video. Now, think about how the person who was comparing their life to the other person life would have felt. Personally, I think they didn’t really think before posting the comment and just wanted to do the same as expressing their own feelings in the comments as they thought most people would do aswell. Lastly, put yourself in the perspective of the people replying. What do you think they thought before posting it? Well, I think many had anger from seein somebody compare something about their life to another human being which isn’t very nice to do although I think that it is not truly necessary to post things like that towards another human. Even though they did probably not like the comment since the creator of the video was about their life not the person that was commenting’s life. Something especially important is thinking before you click. Even if it’s just a word, words can have such an impact on people. For example, saying the n-word in a group chat could make them uncomfortable since that person sending the message may not even fully know the true history behind the n-word and know how offensive it may be. Maybe even saying something directly personal to somebody telling them that if there was a law to send “escapees” back to South America and they would bring that person there after remembering they exsist so they could get money. This joke could be offensive to people that are asian since that joke was specifically made towards filipinos. Yes, I am speaking from my own point of view since that joke wasn’t funny. Another thing that could also use thinking before posting is calling somebody a slur or calling them a swear word(specifically the other word for a female dog.) This is also another thing many people have experienced online and it’s not funny neither makes you look cool. Cyber bullying, do you know what it is? Why is it important? Cyber bullying is the same as bullying, but happens online. A lot of people are being bullied online. And it comes leads tho many bad things. There are many examples. First, being scared of people judging you. Second, being depressed. Third, it can change your personality. Lastly, you might not even want to go to school, because of all of these. It is important, because it can affect your grades. Because of arguments or hatred, you might just post anything online. It can also be direct and in direct. Direct means sending it to you privately between a chat, while indirect means posting something to the public, but that person knows you will see it and would make you feel bad. There are also ways to ignore those posts. First, pretend you didn’t see it even if you did. Second, don’t respond. Third, ignore the posts of the person who hate you. First, if you don’t want anybody seeing you picture etc. Then you should think before you post something. And if someone bullies you then you should tell an adult, teacher, or anyone you trust. Second, You should think before you post something. Because you might think it is funny, but others will get hurt from the words you use. Also, sometime people will take a picture and share it with everyone, but that will cause a bigger problem. Furthermore, put yourself in their shoes. You will never know what is feel like if you just keep being a bully. You need to know how the person is feeling. And how will you feel if you are that person. Because the bullies don’t know how it feels like to be bullied, then they won’t stop bullying others. So if you are a bully are you going to stop? Are you going to help the people being bullied?

Have you heard of the quote”利剑伤人犹可愈，恶语伤人恨难消;” it means that if you cut your self it can heal, but if words hurt you it can’t be healed. And have you heard of the quote”三思而后行” this means think three times before you say some thing. The two quote both relates to cyberbullying. The definition of cyberbullying is bulling people online with your words, action, blackmail, etc. And that can cause lots of damage to the person. Cyberbullying is a major issue around the word. People all over the world cyber bullies. In order to stop this problem there are many things I can do. What is cyber bullying? Cyber bullying can be showed in may different forms for example there is 1. Direct bullying 2. Indirect bullying. You may think both of these things are the same but trust me they are not first let’s look at direct bullying. Direct bully is when you make fun of someone or bully someone directly, now let’s look at indirect bullying. Indirect bullying is when you don’t call them out, it’s kind if like making fun of a group of people that envoles that person for example racism say there is a person with a different race as you in that case it could be something like dang I hate this race because it’s not directly at them. Now you know what cyber bullying is.

These days kids have social media accounts. Such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat etc. all of this social media has a digital footprint. Example of posting some videos online, even though you erased it, or deleted it. There will be a footprint left.
CyberBullying is pretty common for those people online. There are types of CyberBullying, Swearing, blackmailing, threatening online, and arguments. You have to be careful what you post online! Look at this Scenario

Anne:”sent an embarrassing photo the nerd or the loser of her class jody”
Penelope:”Screen shotted it” penelope sent it to a public group chat in school.
People POV: “Screen shotted and Post it online” And it spreads all over the internet
Jody’s POV: I feel so embarrassed. Many people are started to laugh at me more.
Jody texted Anne to delete it but it’s too late.
Anne said LOOK AT THIS FREAK HAHAHA she is so embarrassing to do that thing.

A student told the teacher and showed what her student doing online. And the teacher emailed Anne’s Parent and Penelope’s what they did on a student. The teacher asked the student why didn’t she speak-up or tell the teacher. She said, she was afraid and she doesn’t want any trouble. CyberBullying can cause a lot of things. Like being emotional, changes, behaviour, and sleep. It can also cause Anxiety. It can ruin someone’s life. It can cause of depression. And a lot of things.

What is cyberbullying? Cyberbullying means bullying online, it usually occurs on social media, such as Instagram, Discord, or TikTok. These platform had been used for cyberbullying or other platform where you post inappropriate stuff online. Cyberbullying can be in different forms, like direct or indirect. These types of bullying are very different but it happens everywhere. Lastly, in class, we have learn to be an ally or up-stander, we must support the victim when the person is committing cyberbullying. To sum it up, over these couple weeks we had learn a lot about digital citizenship and cyberbullying, I think it is a very useful thing, because we must know how to stop it when it happens to us to the future.

Cyber bullying is when you bully someone online.
An example might be if you tees someone or if you hurt someone’s your feelings online. If you were texting someone and they hurt your feelings really badly that is called Cyberbully.
If this ever happens to you you can tell a teacher tell that person to stop or get a guardian/parent. When you see someone getting bullied i’m getting targeted do you have to be an up stander not a bystander. An up
stander is when you help people that are getting bullied and take action. A bystanders when someone is getting bullied you just walk past and not care about it.
That is what cyber bullying means to me. I hope everyone becomes an up stander.

Everyone is familiar with what bullying is, through learning about it or experiencing it. There are, of course, many forms of bullying, but one is happening more and more as more teens are on social media. The form of bullying I'm trying to describe is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is a form of bullying occurring online, main on social media. Social media has become increasingly common among teenagers, and cyberbullying has been happening more and more. Cyberbullying can include making rude comments, posting others' photos online without permission, and hate speech. About 37% of young people between the ages of 12 and 17 have been bullied online, but why does cyberbullying occur way more than normal bullying? The answer is simple, bullies can hide behind a screen, they can disguise themselves as someone totally different. Using fake accounts, bullies can hide their identity from the person they are bullying, however, bullies still feel like they are protected simply because they are behind a screen and are not making any interactions with the person they are bullying. According to what we've learned, there are two forms of cyberbullying, indirect and direct. Indirect bullying is bullying but not directly to a person, it can be to a group of people with similarities. Direct bullying is doing something directly at a person and harassing them directly. Now we know that cyberbullying is a serious problem, how do you prevent it from happening to you? The answer is short, simply limit the amount of personal information you post online. The less the information you share, the less the bully knows of you. In conclusion, it is critical to learn about what cyberbullying is, you'll know how to handle it when it occurs.
