REFLECTIONS

Today was a busy day of finishing up your projects and assignments for Mr. Collins. They must all be submitted today in order to be evaluated. It is possible you will receive an incomplete if you do not submit your work to Mr. Collins. In addition to this, you also worked on your deep learning reflections for your recent learning activities. Reflecting on where you started and where you ended up after your lessons is a key component of your learning.

IMPORTANT: Bring some snacks/drinks to share in the afternoon to say farewell to Mr. Collins. If you have any kind words and 'SOMETHING ELSE' to give him tomorrow, please do so! ;-) PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION TO HIM TOMORROW! (HINT HINT, WINK WINK, NUDGE NUDGE!)

Thank you so much Mr. Collins for these amazing 10 weeks. It feels like you've been in the classroom since last year and yesterday, all at once. I really appreciate how much effort you put into teaching each lesson with an intriguing concept that catches the eye of the learner. Which makes it easy to remember. Even the spy mission for graphing. I thought, man, this is the best. So thank you, for making this term the best one yet. Good luck on your next class, hope they are as awesome as we are!

For a long time, I had teachers that were biased and unfair, they had no care towards my emotions, or how I might have felt. I had no choice in the decisions of the class, and it became tiring to go to school for this. The recent years have changed though, I have been receiving teachers that I can never forget, Ms. Tan of my grade six, year, taught me about equality and kindness, Mr. Hong, a man that made learning it's own planet. Now there is you, Mr. Collins. You have been amazing for the short time I knew you, you taught me to value the good times I had in life, and you taught me how to make pizza, so its a win in my book :D. The lessons you gave us, and the field trips you took us on, it made me value more things in life than just my own. When giving us the interactive lessons, it became fun to engage in the conversations and add my own opinions to change the outlook of things, when you took us on trips, you made sure we had the best experience. The learning never stops, something used repeatedly by Mr. Hong, it was a way to show how no matter what we are always learning, for me, you gave this quote meaning, be it from the videos we watched, or the legs we burned, there was always something to learn from it. I will remember you until the end of time, and as your first class we all wish you a successful career, thank you, Mr. Collins.

Ever since you came here, you've helped all of us with our hard times in some of the subjects and you helped me be confident. One time, I didn't know how equations worked, and you explained it really well. I've learned a lot from you because you are an influential role model for us. You have been really kind to all of us and you treat all of us the same, you don’t help the person who self-regulate better when they are in a fight, instead you treat us fairly, unlike “some” teachers that assumes it’s always the ones who can’t self-regulate. And there has been really mean teachers, and honestly, I hated them. But you are the direct opposite, you are one of my favorite teachers I ever had, and trust me, I know what i’m saying. I will never forget you and i’m sure my classmates won’t either. We would all miss you, and not want to let you go. We had a lot of fun with you, from the time you came here to now. I hope you can substitute one day and come back. But i’m happy for you. You are going to finally start teaching your own class! And your new students will love you, you would bring joy and love to them, The kids who hate school will love it, and the ones who like school will love it even more. I've always had very bad teachers that didn't really enjoy teaching people and teachers who were always biased and bad. I would always feel that I was targeted by my teachers. For the longest time, I thought I was cursed but with you, I don't feel that. I feel that you are a fair teacher and one who loves to teach. Not only do you love to teach but you are also a good teacher. Whenever you teach I can learn clearly. I would love to stay with you get taught by you another year. This comes from the bottom of my heart. You've broken my thought of being cursed. You were the good teacher I've met and I will never forget you. You are truly a good teacher and I would never trade you for anyone else.

In the previous lessons in 2018 and 2019 in Laurier Elementary School, I have a memorable and unforgettable year, and it’s mostly because of you, Mr. Collins. I really appreciate your spirit and the passion for learning. Beside Mr. Hong, in this year, you clearly showed how learning should be and told us how the behaviour of a student should have. I still remember how you teach me to self-regulate when I am being emotional, and how you tell me to self-regulate my environment. I am a hundred percent think that you are a really enthusiastic teacher who always gives us kindness and hope, like bright light glowing in the dark. I definitely have to say, “Thank you very much, Mr. Collins!” And this came from my heart.

All these years, I have struggling with school subjects and life. When I went to a private school. Some teachers didn’t care about my existence and learning. The teachers that taught good lessons and improve my life. Ms. Lum, the resource teacher helped me with jump -math and reading categories. Mrs. Cacapit, helped me control my emotions. Mr. Hong, the teacher who put learning happen in this classroom. Mr.Collins, the student teacher is amazing in teaching grade 6s and grade 7s. You have been been a wonderful teacher these 3 months or how many months you stay. You taught me how to make a mini pizza. You taught me about photography. I wish you good luck at the school you go to.

This year has been really unique from every other school year, and you, Mr. Collins, have contributed to that. You not only helped every one of us inside the class but people outside as well. You helped Mr. Hong change us for the better, and you've promoted our learning. You helped us through our toughest moments and when we were lost. You helped us when we needed help most. “A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others,” as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk said. It’s been a wonderful year having you, Mr. Collins, teach Division 2. You have taught everyone a lot of things throughout this year. You are a part of Division 2, and it is very sad that you’re leaving. Though, I still wish you the best of luck for the future.

First of all, I would like to thank you for teaching with such enthusiasm. It makes learning a lot more interesting and fun. Your positivity made it a joy to come to school everyday. If you enjoy teaching, then we’ll enjoy learning! Second, I like how understanding and lenient you are. When I wasn’t able to hand in my work on time (because of other work and things in life), you were okay with giving my a bit more time. This helped me a lot because I would have needed to stay up really late to finish all my work. Lastly, I am thankful for how much time and effort you have put in into teaching the whole class. It’s not easy learning how to be a teacher, but you still managed to teach us all these things. It is not easy being able to manage every single person in the class out of the thirty students. Thank you so much for being patient with everyone.

To sum up, you are one of the best teachers I ever had. You always surprise us every time with new assignments and projects that are fun and helpful. You inspire us to learn new things and assist us when we need help. We will never forget you as a teacher and as a member of Division 2.

Dear Mr.Collin
I am very thankful to you for all the fun teaching you do with us. You make learning easier and fun for us, which was very meaningful to me since it is my last year in elementary. You also save my life, the math test 12b+3. Which almost let me get app/ext that my mom doesn't really like. You’ve also been really nice to all of us and us the same. Best of all you are a nice teacher. Unlike the other one I’ve met, not the teacher here in Canada, but the teacher I have when I am in Taiwan. They just give you a lot of homework and tests everyday. You are the completely opposite of them. And I think I will never forget you nor will the whole class I think.

Thank you so much for working so hard for us. My last year here at Laurier has been amazing and one that I’d definitely remember. Part of the reason is definitely the amazing teachers we’ve had. I’ve had a lot of unfair teachers in the past but the teachers I’ve had for the past 3 years were all amazing. This year was by-far the best. I wish you the best out there in a world of learning!

I've had many teachers, and most of them will just be in and out of my life. This year however, I feel like you were way different. This year has been amazing having you in the classroom to teach and guide us. Mr. Collins, you have done a lot for us...and now you are leaving. Nevertheless, you are now on a whole new course to teach your own class so I wish you the best for all of the experiences you will have in the future.

This year, there were a few things that I really like about having you in our class. First of all, your spirit is welcome because we get to have a lot more positivity in the room to have more fun while learning. Secondly, you have a lot of the best ideas (like the French pizza party) that I didn't know about before. Also, you try your best to help us because you are dedicated, determined and confident. I know we haven't been the most respectful and quiet class, but you put up with us and I admire how much patience you have. You've helped me with making sure my novel approach made sense and was good and a few other things.

Basically, you have made our class fun, exciting and a lot more interesting just by being there. Thank you for learning and making memories with us this year; I am especially grateful for your teaching!

This year has been a blast. When you started coming on Thursdays every week, it was very exciting to see a new young teacher help us. When you started coming everyday, teaching us so many cool and new things our class became closer and closer together. Our class shares so many memories that none of us will forget. This year has been a busy year full of learning going on and on. Ever since you came to Laurier, I appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into this class.

Thank you Mr.Collin for being such a wonderful teacher this year. We’re glad to have a patient teacher like you and I really have to say your passion and positive attitude had influenced us a lot. I like how you’re being very generous to us and help out with different situations. In order to do that, I believe you’ve spent a lot of time setting up the assignments and evaluating our work. As Brad Henry once said, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” That is what you, Mr. Collins, is, the best teacher ever.

I must express my utmost gratitude for you; this message comes directly from the heart. I must thank you for all the things you have done for me. Once I was exposed to your teaching methods and because of your help, I finally explicitly understood the Big 6 Learning Principles and my grades improved drastically. In addition, you have edited numerous works of the writing of mine and provided me with excellent feedback which therefore helped me further improved my writing techniques. Moreover, you made us engage in a lot of fun activities which I enjoyed, such as Spheros and Critical Thinking Challenges. You have made my school life a lot more interesting and enjoyable, and I will definetly miss you after you have left.
