Jackson Pollock Inspired Art

Today, the students created Jackson Pollock inspired action paintings. Pollock is one of the most influential American abstract impressionist painters of the last century. The students used tools such as paint brushes, syringes, and spoons to create this unique splatter effect. Pollock's drip paintings are some of the most recognizable art today. Mr. Hong will post a video over the weekend which shows how much fun the students had learning about art!

MIDDLETON MATH 7: Complete pg 29 all odd questions and worksheet.
WILSON MATH 7: Pg. 37-38 #6,7, and 10.

2.) SOCIAL STUDIES:

Continue working on your group project on your Google Drive Document. You all have access to your shared documents where you have been collaborating with your group members.
Add to your research. You will have some time on Monday to put the final touches on your project.
Your presentation MUST address at least one point from each of the areas below. All of theses areas were outlined in the National Post Article. If you have any questions about this, please post your question here. Be sure to pay attention to the learning intentions.

On Friday, my group and I worked together to make an iMovie for our project. I did my share by filming and watching the scenes. Most of them were bloopers, so we might have to start again. In my group, my role is the film maker. I filmed the movie on Friday and we are doing ok... On Friday my group and I accomplished some scenes in our project on iMovie. We also have lots of info on the Google Doc that we made. I think we are doing good and will hopefully have lots of fun doing it. GO GREEN!

My group and I had a goal it was to get as much done as we could and we did that goal. I did my share by looking up information to put on our website and asking my group members for help. We each had a role mine was to look up Transportation and Taxes. Today my group and I got alot done then the previous day and we are getting to the point where we are putting the information on the website and we are going to go in early monday to get more done and to practice and get ready for our presentation.

Today my group and I worked collaboratively, we got a lot done and we all had a role. I did my share by researching information about Justice to put in our website. On Monday we are putting our informations together and getting ready for our presentation.

Today my group and I worked together very well. I did my share by researching and typing on the document. We accomplished a lot of the research and started on our video on Imovie. Our video is like a talk show and my role is to act as Elizabeth May, who is the guest star, and answer questions about the Green Party's platform. We still have to finish filming the show, but I think that our presentation will be ready for Tuesday.

Today our group worked on finishing up some documents and I worked a lot on the websites. It took the responsibility of insuring everyone was working on what the need to be working and that everyone was working together so that the website and report documents where coming together. Today my group finished a couple reports and making the main parts of the website.

Today ( or on Friday ) was a lot like Thursday because I did my share by sharing ideas even though I did write down a few more lines for me to say. There was not exactly a specific time ( meaning no one in my group got out of hand ) but I was being a good role model. My group and I did very well but not as good as the first time I guess it's kind of like beginners luck we just added to what we had and worked on the script.

On Friday my group was very productive. We went over the script of the interview we were writing, and we got to improve, edit, and revise our work to make it better. For example, we realized that we were being repetitive with some words so we replaced some words, and added transition words instead. Also, when we were going over we realized we need to back up our information. In other words we noticed that we had to require some evidence for info.

For example, they were talking on the chat on google docs so I asked them if they could work on the information they were going to present to see if it was credible. Also, to see if information is reliable I and my fellow party members googled up the writer or journalist of some of the information.

During my group's productivity we were able to get the main parts of script done, because are going to be presenting a interview with our parties (the liberals) members of parliament, such as Justin Trudeau and other candidates representing some of the small towns in Canada. One of the things we were working on was about including things in our presentation about our party's platform Mr.Hong told us to include that was in an article. For example, one of the promises was to cut taxes for middle-class citizens in Canada.

On Friday my group worked well together and I had shared an idea about how would do like an interview/talk show.

I took a role of responsibility by suggesting to have a theme song and type out script to use.

My group and I accomplished finishing our research and starting to finish our talk show.

@Spongebob good job. But, I have a few things to point out. One of them is to look back at the criteria because it specificallly said to make a detailed response. Also, I think you forgot that it said to provide specific examples, and to explain exactly what you and your group accomplished. Sometimes it helps to look at other peoples responses to get an idea what your expected to do. Again good job, do not be insulted about my critism I am just suggesting to help inprove your work..:)

My group and I were working on getting roles and how we were going to present it. We ended up doing a news show at my house on Saturday we needed a mic, a HD camera and tripod, a paper with all the info and what to say, and a table and 2 chairs we ended up having all of that. I was the recorder and I was working on the time we meet at to record. We are almost done all we have to do is the recording one more part.

@HeroOfAges nice paragraph! I only found one, it is that your second sentence is a bit to long. I would suggest putting a period after chains. Also, this doesn't really have to do with your paragraph, but I think that you should have hat someone else do the audio, and you do the camera, but that has nothing to do with your paragraph so GOOD JOB!

On friday my group and I worked very hard to finish our scripts and roles. We all had a hard time writing and editing our roles but in the end when we practiced it , it sounded kinda professional and we thought we were ready to record. On Saturday me, Brooke, Maddie and Damian all met at the park near our school to go to Damian'sto record. When we got there Rohan was outside and he bothered us untill we went inside. When we were all ready to record things didn't go so well because me and Brooke didn't memorize our scripts and we kept messing up so Damian's mom had to get papers and other things to cover up our electronics. We originally wanted to just record our part and move on but we kept failing over and over and over again. We also were going to print out the scripts but none of our printers worked. For example mine couldn't run properly because my dad didn't fix it yet and Damians didn't have ink so we had to read off of our electronics. When we finnaly finished recording we went to PeachWave to reward ourselfs and I think that was a very progresive day.

@ Lilmiceter, I agree it was a really fun day. I really like all the detail you included in your paragraph. But heres one suggestion, try to use the other peoples code names and add a intro hook and outro sentence. Otherwise, great job!!!!!!

Thats a part my group recorded over the weekend it was really funny yachting Lil-mister doing that. She killed it though! For my share lil and I wrote our script for our news report. Then MadDong, Lil and I went to Hero Of Ages house and filmed a bunch of parts and just accomplished a lot of work. Today I took responsibility in my group by well making sure everyone would ask their parents if they could come and record. But to be honest, we all to equal share of work and communicated with each other and there was no one person saying everything. Unfortunately, some people could not come to Hero Of Ages house but the people who did come got a lot of work done and so now we are very ahead of where we were planning on being. So, I think we had a very productive day on Saturday and got a lot of stuff done to me, at least. To reward ourselves after that, we all went to Peach wave and got frozen yogurt and it was just a blast! I hope you can now see that my group is doing really good and that we have got a lot of stuff done. These projects are really fun and I hope we do at least one more related to the parties and everything.

On Friday my group and I worked hard to finish our scripts and roles.

For my share, well I wasn't really there on Friday during the end of the day so I helped with ideas and writing notes down about what we are going to put on the document.

I took leadership by coming up with some of the script and being Tom Mulcair. That is difficult for me because I'm camera shy.

Today our group accomplished a lot and in my opinion our common goal is that we should work collabritivly to start to create our script.I accomplished that goal by: my partners and I were working on our interview script and we finished what we could finish. I did my role by: I did some research on the green party and what they believe in because,I am going to play Elizabeth May and my partners @ Marvel girl and @ Mad dog are going to interview me.We did that while our other group members worked on their scripts. Overall ai think that our group accomplished a lot in the time we were given. Go NDP PARTY!

Today our group accomplished a lot and in my opinion our common goal was to work collabritivly to create scripts.I accomplished that by:my partners @ Marvel girl and @mad dog and me worked together to create a script for our interview price for our project.I did my part by: I did some research on the green party's beliefs because,@Marvel girl and @Mad dog are going to interview Elizabeth May (me) and what she believes in. We did that while our other group members were working on their script to interview Tomas Mulclair.Elizabeth May and Tomas Mulclair are going to be debating. Overall I think that we accomplished a lot in the time we were given GO NDP PARTY!!!!:)
