FRIDAY: Mayor Dianne Watts

Today, the students were honoured to have Mayor Dianne Watts visit our school to give a presentation. We are lucky that she was able to take time out of her busy schedule to speak to us. The students learned much about taking action, being responsible citizens, and being agents of change!

1.) WRITE A RESPONSE: What did you learn from Dianne Watts?

2.) FIELD TRIP: I will post a message tomorrow morning by 8am to let you know if we will be going to Sunnyside or not. The weather forecast is not looking good.

I learned that they are Kinda in control of all of the builds in surrey and I also learned that they are building a new skate park in clover dale near the one I go to :D

From Diane Watts, I learned that Surrey is going to be an even more bigger city than it is already. We are earning about 1,200 more people in Surrey every month. Surrey is almost going to be bigger than Vancouver!

WRITE A RESPONSE: What did you learn from Dianne Watts?

Surrey is growing and we are all responsible for what the future will hold for the city. The city buildings will move to the area where the SFU campus is.

I have learned a lot from what Dianne Watts said, the first thing I learned was that Surrey is growing fast! and I mean fast Surrey is gaining about 1,200 people every month! that is insane! Secondly, Dianne Watts is making a lot of changes to make Surrey a better city by building better buildings that can create more jobs. Also, Surrey is making more housing to give all these people a place to live in Surrey.

I learned that Surrey is increasing fast in population and in a couple of years we should have a greater population that Vancouver.

I learned about the new skate parks and how we are going to make Surrey better and bigger. I should have asked her about sky trains going through Surrey.

What I learned from Mayor Watts was that being a leader (especially if its a country) is a tough job.

I learned all about what the mayor does and what she controls. I also learned that cloverdale is getting a new skatepark!
