Students watched a video of Mike Powell breaking the long jump record that was previously held by Bob Beamon. We broke down the different phases of the long jump and dissected the run-up and jumping technique. Students then put what they learned into practice by practicing their run-ups. Click here to watch a video of professional long jumper explaining the technique.
Finally, students worked on compiling their buddy photos into a presentation to share with the class.
