1.) Science
- PowerPoint presentations must be completed by Monday.
- Your sources for your information must be included at the bottom of each of your slides. Most of you will have one or two for your online sources, your science textbook, and one for your multimedia (picture and/or video)
- Make sure you have organized your information and multimedia in a neat manner that does not detract from the purpose of your presentations.
- Also, don't forget that you must not use animations/transitions that detract from the content of your slideshow.
- Once you complete your slideshow, share or email it to Mr. Hong and your partner so that we can give you feedback. We will do peer assessments in class on Monday so please make sure you share/email it by then.
2.) MATH 6 - Complete the rest of the questions for Chapter 9 Lesson 3
MATH 7 - Ask your friend what the HW is. I don't know what Mrs. Van assigned.
3.) POST A MESSAGE: How are thesis statements different from topic sentences?

@ Dragon - You do not have to include a detailed bibliography. However, you must include your sources at the bottom of each of your slides. Reread the planner message that was posted. The details are listed there. :) Just remember that your sources (websites) should be listed in the bottom left corner of your slides and in a much smaller font when compared to the content of your slides.

Sorry for some reason there is no "reply" button on your comment.
So anyway, I though that you had it on your laptop at school. So sorry about that, but what you do is you save that presentation on your usb to your desktop, documents, etc... Then, you go on you e-mail and send a e-mail to your self. When you are sending a e-mail, you click "Attach File' and click the file you downloaded. I know it sounds a little confusing but, I'm sure if you read it carefully you'll know what I'm saying.

After you click your presentation you let it load for a bit and then click SEND. You would of probably figured that out your self. But whatever!! :)

Thesis statements are when you are explaining the three (or as many as you have) points. This is usually done at the beginning of your essay in your intro. Topic sentences on the other hand, is the sentence that you start each paragraph with. This sentence lets the reader know what the paragraph will be about. Eg Topic Sentence. "I think that soccer is a sport that needs a lot of teamwork". Eg Thesis Statement. "My three favorite sports are Soccer, Volleyball, Football. After reading this I hope people understand what a thesis statement and topic sentences are. :D

Thesis Statement- Tells the reader what you're going to talk about in the first sentence or so. Eg.) First I will be talking about Hockey, then Soccer, and lastly Baseball.

Topic Sentence- The topic sentence is the first sentence in a paragraph. And it introduces the main idea of the paragraph. Eg.) These are 3 reasons why Hockey is awesome.........

Topic sentence- The topic sentence is a primarily prescriptive grammatical term to describe the sentence in an expository paragraph which summarizes the main idea of that paragraph. It is usually, but not always, the first sentence in a paragraph. The topic sentence acts as a kind of summary, and offers the reader an insightful view of the writer’s main ideas for the following paragraph.

A topic sentence explains what the whole paragraph it is in is about. It is the first sentence you will see in a paragraph.

A thesis statement is the points you are going to be talking about through out the paragraph, most of the time there are 3 points. They are usually found not quite right after the introduction but a little after the hook.

A topic sentence tells the reader what you will be talking about throughout the paragraph. :P

Save the powerpoint to your USB stick and then you can try to resolve the issue at school with Mr.Hong.

Well, you should be able to click save my Powerpoint at the top left corner. You then log into your Gmail and click upload files, then just easily pick the Powerpoint file you have. You do not have to send it to yourself. If you find some troubles finding your saved Powerpoint, all you need to do is search Powerpoint in your files.

Let me know if this helps, and if you are still unable to do this then just save it on your usb and bring it tomorrow. :)
