Grouting our Tiles

Today, we learned more about transition words. We learned about transitions to help connect our sentences to have better flow throughout our writing. Afterwards, you had some practice identifying the different types of transition words and the purpose of each. I look forward to seeing you use more transitions in your daily PARs. In the afternoon, students had French and started grouting their mosaic mirrors. We will be grouting over the next few days. If you didn't bring a sponge yet, please do so tomorrow.

IMPORTANT:

Please bring at least one food item to school to donate!
If you haven't paid your $4 tile art fee, please bring it tomorrow.

Food is a very important necessity that each person needs that some people aren't getting a lot of. That's why are school is starting a thing where you are supposed to bring cans to feed the homeless. people should always eat and if they can't that's a big problem. In example if you don't have food to eat you will be tired skinny and even eventually die. in conclusion I hope we bring a lot of food so we can feed a lot of people.

Why do we have to donate food that we worked hard to buy? In the back of your mind, have you thought that we are giving up our food, so we can feed a bunch of homeless people? There many good reasons to give up non-perishable food to people who can not afford food.

First, do it out of the goodness of your heart. People are suffering because they do not have food to feed themselves and/or their family. Starving is one of the worst ways to die. You suffer slowly from pain and exhaustion from the lack of nutrients. Then, you faint or fall on the ground, and die from starvation. Would you like to experience that pain? Be nice and save others from suffering.

Equally important, humans are very social creatures. we tend to look out for another. For example, When a fellow human needs help solving a puzzle, another human offers to help. We should do that to the homeless people. Think of it as taking care of a fellow human. Dolphins are very social, and they help each other a lot. Why shouldn't we help each other? We are super social too.

Finally, we need to win. Whichever class who brings the most non-perishable food wins a prize. It is very important that we win this prize. Although, it is probably a pizza party. We must surpass all the other classes and win the prize, so...

EVERBODY BRING CANS!!!!!!

All in all, we should bring as many non-perishable food items as possible for the greater good, and for the prize. So again

Why do we donate food to food banks? Well we donate food to food banks for various reasons and you should donate cans to food bank or help us win the competition for most cans donated.

A reason why we should donate cans is because some people aren't as lucky as us and they might not have a home to live in or food to eat to survive. So we donate to them so they could live and maybe get a job and have a better life. You also need to keep in mind that you're really lucky to have a home to live in and food and water to drink whenever you want since some people don't have what you have.

Another reason why we should donate to the homeless or food banks is because if they don't get enough food they won't get nutrients or the vitamins they need to survive and eventually they will die a hard and painful death with many diseases from lack of food, vitamins and other things.

In conclusion, you should always donate money, food and or water to food banks or homeless people since they might not have the things you have.

Food. It's what sustains us, so why isn't everyone getting enough?That's why the importance of donating non-perishable foods has never been higher. For instance, can you believe that the vancouver food bank serves up to twenty-five thousand people a week? It's important to realize that over fifty percent of those served are children or seniors. In our school we have a food banks that students and even teachers can donate to. But why? Why would you want to donate. You spent money on it, and food is not exactly cheap these days. Well today I'm going to tell you two reasons why donating is important!

Firstly is that lots of people don't have access to food. Sure they are food banks around the city, but these donation boxes work if they have food. It's up to you to donate to these people. Lack of food causes malnutrition. Meaning you don't have enough nutrition, therefore making you more prone to sicknesses. Also lack of food can make it harder to focus in school. For example, let's say you are from a family that is struggling with money. You can't afford to eat a breakfast so you go to school hungry. As you try to focus on school work, the gnawing pain of you stomach distracts you from the task at hand. This can lead to drop out's, less job opportunities and more. Restarting the poverty cycle again.

Another reason is that it uses items that you might not need. For instance if you have a can of pizza sauce that you don't use. Than you can donate it! Yesterday I donated a can of pizza sauce! It let's other people use things that you don't need, it's know as reusing though you don't actually use it in the first place.

In conclusion donating is a important thing to do. Why don't you donate to day!

Today we completed our volleyball unit in PE and also had our last volleyball game. Students improved so much over the last 5 weeks. Everyone should be very proud of themselves.

People who don't have homes or enough money, can't afford food everyday. That is why donating food is important let me tell you the other benefits of donating food at school or just in general.
First, of all your helping people who are in need of food and water, you can donate any type of perishable foods.
For example canned fruit or soup or even just water, we need to be hydrated after all.
Another reason is that, lots of families who live on the streets or who have homes but have little money, need food to feed their kids or even their parents.
After dinner my sister Ester told me that Churchill is also donating food to people in need, but you can also give money. That's a good idea because people who need the money also have to pay for rent . ( or like if they live in a small apartment and can't pay rent) or even just for brand new clothes.
In conclusion it is important to help people in need, even if you just donate 1 can of soup, that's still helping people in need. I really think people should help others who are in need more because they live in worse conditions than you.

I was starving today, since I barley ate anything, but luckily I had food waiting for me when I got home! That's me, but not all people. As most people live under a roof with all the food they want, other people live on the streets with nothing to eat. The only way the don't die is by visiting the food bank everyday. Unfortunately, the only way the food bank gets food to give out is by getting donations by people who have a rich source of food. Like for instance, you have some cans at home and you don't need them, you can donate it. Garbage to us can be gold to others. If nobody would donate, people living in poverty will have a painful and slow death. What i'm trying to say here is, we should all start donating, therefore we can save lives.

Our school does food banks and the students and teachers/staff get to donate. We donate so we can help the less fortunate eat. These are
reasons why I think its important to donate food to the food banks.

First its because the people who are needing food banks are already making little to no money so them getting food and water is a HUGE help to them.
Secondly it's important to realize that if the food banks run out of stock the people who can't get food will start starving which might lead to death.

To finish this off I believe that we should be donating as much as we can to the food banks.

We have a food bank donation going on at school until December 14 (I think). But why do we donate? One reason is so that the people without food can have a meal so that they can still get through work and the rest of the day, especially if they have a really hard job. Not everybody has food. That's why we donate to food banks.

Have you ever donated food to the food bank before but never knew why you had to do it? Well there is a reason to everything right? Here are some reasons why.
For one thing is they donate to the people in poverty. But what is poverty? Poverty is a state of being poor and there are a lot of people in poverty especially in India. No one wants to be in poverty and once you get into the poverty cycle, it is hard to get out.
To put it another way it is a good way to get rid of all the junk in your house. Especially for me because I try my best to keep my room clean but my mom and grandma keep trashing so yeah.

Not everybody is as lucky as we are, so that's why schools like ours have a food drive to donate non-perishable foods for people that don't have food! At our school we are having a food drive to see what class can bring the most can food and also to donate as much as possible to help the less fortunate ones.

The reason why we have food drives to donate non-perishable foods is because people aren't as fortunate as we are. Lot's of people are suffering living in poverty and they do not have enough money to afford much, for example food and shelter. What you do if you were hungry? You would probably just easily go and get a snack from your kitchen at home. Well not everyone can just easily do that. Some things we can all do to help is, don't buy food that you aren't gonna eat! If we buy so much then we are basically just wasting food and your money. All people need to have food and water to survive.

Food Banks, a place for people that can't support themselves to receive help from the more fortunate.

The overall goal or mission of having a food bank is to sort and categorize donated foods, most of the time canned or dried food, for instance, instant noddles in packages or boxes./ canned meat tuna, ham, etc/ pasta, noddles.
When someone donates food, your local food bank will have sent the food to a warehouse to be sorted, generally, food banks will have a calendar labelling days they will deliver food. Usually, there will be a list of people that need help and rely on the kindness of others.

My family has a tradition, in which we donate around 3 bags of food a year, and if you think about that, we are donating as much as an average Canadian spends a week. Donating is important because sometimes people end up in bad situations, such as homelessness and not being able to gain enough money to spend of food, we all are very lucky to have lived in such a beautiful country, where we have laws that protect those in need and do what we can and donating is your best option to help anyone.

And for instance, you may have a few extra cans of food that you won't be using until you cook that bacon lasagna, you can donate it to food banks of your city. In other words donating gives off a good feeling when you do the right thing.

You may think that it is utterly pointless to donate food to food banks. This just isn't the case. We are so fortunate to be able to have food to eat everyday, something that is so overlooked yet so essential to a healthy life style.

Something important to realize, is that hundreds upon thousands of people don't have enough to put food on the table, having to go to food banks regularly to provide enough for themselves and perhaps their families.

As an illustration, imagine yourself hungry and alone, sitting my the side walk on a cold and windy night. Then you see a glimmer of hope, a food bank. With all your energy, you run towards the food bank. But to your disappointment, they've ran out of food. You trudge back to your cardboard box you call home and lay down, hungry and despair.

By bringing in just one can, you could feed this homeless person. In fact, if you were to bring two cans or maybe even three cans, you could be feed not one but multiple homeless people.

Imagine Christmas without a nice family dinner. Thats how some people spend they're Christmas. The best part about Christmas is spending time with your family while enjoying each others company. It is important that we all have food so we can all enjoy our holiday season. if you don't agree, let me try to convince you! First, some people can't afford to buy themselves and family food so its important that we as fortunate and lucky people donate to them to show that we care and we want to help them. This is why we have 13 classes at school, collecting non perishable foods. We also should be doing it because we are all human and the thing to do is help each other out and support each other. by us donating a few cans each, we already help feed someone for a day or so. It is also the Canadian thing to do. Because we are Canadian, we are kind and caring so we do kind things for each other (unlike America). It is important to realize that donating food to food banks is very very important. In fact its one of the best ways of supporting the homeless without resorting to disgusting things like communism and high taxes. It can probably be just as good as well. People can recieve food while other people dont have to be legally required to care for them if they dont want to. Which is perfectly acceptable.
There are many reasons you donate food. Here are some reasons. Its keeping many many people alive as the government is too busy spending our hard earned money which they collect in taxes in fighting meaningless wars and paying for refugges to live in hotels.
Next you should do this as it helps people and you probably like helping people. You like helping people right? Its great to help people as yopu help people and that is great. It is semi scientifically proven that charity makes people a bit happier. The thought that you actions have a positive affect on people makes you feel better.
In other words donating food is important and yous hould truely donate a few cans (perferably at school so we can beat all the other classes in can count) for all the reasons listened above and listed by other people.

Water, food, and shelter. the three necessities. we happen to live in a very privileged country where many people don’t have to worry about these necessities, but unfortunately, not everyone has access to these simple necessities.

Because of this, there are many organizations that are trying to help people. For example, the food bank. Not everyone can afford food, and that’s why we should help them by donating food. If you look hard enough, maybe you’ll find a few cans in the back of your pantry. And to you, that might be nothing, but to someone who can’t afford food, that is gold. Just like the saying, "one man’s trash is another’s treasure".

What’s so important about donating to the food bank? Well, some people are stuck in the poverty cycle and its hard for them to break the cycle. By donating food, you can at least take food expenses off of them. this could help them saveup and eventually get back on there feet.
Another reason that you should donate is that you probably throw out so much food because it goes bad. Instead of doing this, you can donate it. It’s another way of discarding food, but it’s going to a good cause.

Food is essential if you want to live. Without food, you would die in three weeks. This is the case of many people around the world. How would you feel if you were in that predicament, starving to death?

It is important to realize that we are all living in a first world country with no concerns about edible food or clean water. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the people struggling with financial issues are barely feeding themselves due to their state. So, what can we do to help those in need? Well, we could always donate to food banks, which help feed those who can't afford to feed themselves. Fortunately, my class, Division 2, are doing a food drive to help not only provide food to those who need it, but as well as spread awareness of the situation!

Firstly, why should we be the ones providing food for them? Furthermore, why should we use our time and money for some random people? Indeed, it may seem impractical to the close-minded, but in reality, you're possibly saving a life. Some go through insane life situations that'd we never think would be real. This results in them struggling financially, therefore not being able to support themselves and starving themselves. By donating even a can of beans you found in the back of your cabinets could result in a random person feeling like they just won the lottery.

No one should have to starve due to unfair financial issues, so always try to donate to organizations to help spread awareness about this issue!

We as humans have 4 basic needs to survive: food, shelter, water and oxygen. Oxygen, of course is already naturally provided (until global warming kills everything-), which leaves into food, water and shelter. We are lucky to meet all those needs and have regular says without having to worry if there will be enough food or water. However, that is not the case in some countries and areas. Some families aren't as fortunate as us, without food and sometimes even lacking shelter.

So now, by setting a goal to donate 200 non-perishable food items by Friday, we will ensure many more people a proper, healthy meal and a brighter Christmas to look forward to.

You may be wondering “why should I give my food to just some random stranger” but donating to that random stranger can save a life or feed someone a dinner.

If you put your self in there shoes you would see how hard their lives are having to hope to stay warm and seek shelter we don’t know how fortunate we are. Donating non perishable food can have someone not worry if their having a dinner tonight.

No one should have to be hungry on Christmas.

Do you know why is it important to donate to the food bank? That’s because people with a low income or no income don’t have enough money to buy food and they rely on the food bank to feed their family.

First, you can just do it out of the good in your heart. For example, you don’t want to see homeless children not be able to eat properly because when they are still children, they need a lot of nutrients to grow and be healthy. If people don’t donate, then those kids might starve or get some kind of disease if they eat things that are not clean.

For instance, not everybody is as lucky as we are. So many people can experience tough times in their life with less money. If they can concentrate on working instead of worrying about buying food, then they might get a better job and will have a better life.

For these reasons, donating some none perishable item is very important send no matter what you are doing it for its always going to help a person in need.
