WE HAD A KAHOOT!

In the morning, we had more Passion Project presentations. This was followed by gymnastics for PE. It is really amazing to watch how all of you have improved your flexibility, balance, and acrobatic abilities. We had a big 'KA-HOOT' after recess! We started the read aloud with a fun activity that helped the students think and review the different characters from Amal Unbound! It was interesting to see how energetic everyone was while they were thinking about their responses. Learning is always fun and #TheLearningNeverStops!

IMPORTANT: Wear clothing/shoes you don't mind getting paint on tomorrow. We will be doing our Jackson Pollock Action Splatter Painting in the morning.

Show your parents this handout as a guide for commenting.
Help your parents log in through their account and help them through the commenting process. Help them post comments to at least 3 of your learning activities.
Remember, your parents are an extremely important part of your education. They need to be involved as much as possible.
After they have done this, please post a comment here indicating how you helped your parents and what they learned from you.

After helping my parents logging in to Freshgrade, I showed my mom my passion trailer, and she commented on it. Everyday I tell mY parents want I posted on Freshgrade so they can check.

My mom already knew a lot about Freshgrade (I used it last year), so my mom didn't really lear anything.

I helped my parents to log in through their account. I told them some of my better, interesting portfolio or some portfolio that I am proud of.... I told them to post some of comments of those activities.

My parents think if I have strong determination to do a task, I can do it even though is a difficult task. And they even said I am a "monkey" when I am playing gymnastic. *_*

The first question, is it talking about how I helped my parents understand my parents know what I am learning in school? I helped my parents understand a bit more by answering their questions that they had. They learned how are pre-tests work and how they help show me how much i improve over the week.

First, I help them to log in the account, after I told my my parents what is fresh grade( I told them before but they didn't look at at the instruction or some video very carefully) and why they need to look at it, and then I told them about my studies,and something that I am actually good at or interest in or what I am proud of, and told them to look at it very carefully this time, ( because it is homework),
After my parents look at it, they gave me some important feedback witch are the feedback that I really want it. They said that my Passion project is really good, they said my writing need some big word, it could shows that how you feel.
I am really glad that I let my parents see my fresh grade.

My mom usually check the fresh grade, so she know how it work. But still I tell my mom about what I did in the school, and ask her if she could give me feedback.

When Jorge and I finished round 1, we got 23rd place. Then after the final round, last place.😭

Parents are a very important part of your learning. They may not be as good at teaching as your teachers, but unlike teachers they were with you from the start of your education to the end. Today, I taught my mother how to contribute to my learning on FreshGrade. She doesn’t know English that much, so this is what I’ve done. I told her that I will explain each of the assignments when she is unsure of something. We’ll talk about it for a bit, and she’ll use a translator to reply to the FreshGrade. I’ll check for some minor grammar mistakes because the translator isn’t 100% good with grammatical errors. Additionally, I told her that she couldn’t just say “well done!”. I told her that she had to tell me something I could improve on and how. In conclusion, I feel like not only you and your teacher need to contribute to your learning, your parents need to too! They will help guide your success and help you achieve your goals for a better education.

@ Colin - Follow the instructions. Basically you need to walk them through some of your item on your portfolio on FreshGrade. Show them some of the activities you are proud of and teach them about what it means to 'learn'.

First I helped explain all my recent activities and explained what the learning intentions were. My parents were starting to understand the concept of how things were happening. After explaining they took their time to scroll through my posts and read them. After that they gave me some feedback on what to do next time and I told them to comment that on my FreshGrade. I made sure they understood what they were doing because parents are a big part of my education!

I helped them by making them go in there account because she only checked it once. She learned from me that a shy child could be outstanding. (in this case i am the shy child.

Yes, parents are an extremely important part of your learning, they need to be involved in your education so as it says today I showed my parents about FreshGrade!

Because my parents doesn’t know English that well. So I decided for some parts of the unclear parts I used Mandarin to explained. Firstly, I explained what’s FreshGrade and how it works. Next, we went over through all of my posts and assignment. I explained what am I good at and interested about Oh, also the part that I need to work more harder to improve on! Not surprisingly, they do have lots of questions but I tried my best to answer them all. Now, I realized it’s me turn to ask questions! Such as asking where I can improve on, also known as feedback. Lastly, I talked about the learning intention and the C-Charts we made at school!

After showing my mom my work on Fresh Grade, she was actually quite impressed with some things in our classroom. She told me that she learned that our class is quite interesting and after watching the Earth Bites video, she told me that she also wanted me to plant things in our garden too now. Oragnic things are great!!

I think parents are a vital part of your learning along with your teacher. They would support you to the end so I taught my mom and dad how to participate in my learning even more! Today, I told my parents that they can not only give me recommendations at home but online too!

Even though my mom and dad aren’t good at English, they still try their best to be vigorous in my learning. Firstly, I told my mom how to log in on fresh grade, then exhibited her the sheet which was inserted on to the website by Mr. Hong. Secondly, I had her transcribe a few paragraph on fresh grade for some of my projects and homework. Thirdly, I had helped her find some grammar mistakes on her paragraphs. Lastly, we had posted all of the messages to fresh grade!

My parents sometimes amused and even dumbfound about what we did in the garden! Although parents get frustrated with me, they still would love me and support me in my learning! Overall, I was really happy to let my parents see what we did in school via fresh grade!

First of all, I helped my mom find out how to log in, because we didn't know what her password was. Then, we went through all of the posts and looked through them. We talked a little bit together before she independently commented on the post. Meanwhile, my parents learned many things about what we have done in the past month and they have also learned that there are many ways to improve. As the famous Mr.Hong said, "The learning never stops!" XD

Will, it took a hour for my mom to now h ow to log in f g even tough I teach her five times, so it makes my fell really crazy, but I work out about everything that we need to do and after.
She helped me on my math today wich is so nice and ya and she had seen all the stuff that I need to show her so that's all i need to say for today.

Mr.Hong I’ve showed my parent my passion trailer and the 1st draft and 2 draft and i told them adopt the learning intentions and the criteria! They seemed really happy and enjoyed it a lot but one thing they said was I didn’t do well on was the history part there ware not enough pictures to fill in the criteria, but they said my overall prestation is good enough to put a smile on anyone’s face!

I didn't have enough time to show my parents through the commenting process but I told them about it after school. I had to finish up on homework and then went to kendo then it was late when I got back home. When I went to bed my mom commented by herself though so do I use that to try to complete this assignment?
