MONDAY: BUILDING BIRD HOUSES

Today, two notices were sent home. An orange handout from Hillcrest Elementary School outlining what the next few days will look like and a white form from the Surrey School District that gives parents more information on the potential strike. Parents, please be sure to read through both forms and email me if you have any other questions.

Tomorrow, students must bring their money and a hammer to participate in the art activity we have planned. If you are unable to provide the $5, please email/talk to Mr. Hong.

1.) ART PROJECT:

Parents, please give your son/daughter $5 to participate in the art activity tomorrow. I apologize for the short notice, however, we were given an opportunity to make bird houses and we want to do this before a potential strike occurs.
Bring a hammer to school.

2.) GRADE 7 YEARBOOKS:

Don't forget to bring $5 for your yearbooks tomorrow.

3.) GRADE 7 GROUP PHOTO:

Don't forget to bring $10 if you want your Grade 7 group photo tomorrow.

4.) DANCE VIDEO:

Don't forget to bring your clothing for the dance performance tomorrow. Grey/black and red/blue/yellow/green.

5.) POST A RESPONSE:

Reflect back on this past year of learning.

The thing like the most was learning about ecosystems 2 is I Learned that if you can practice to do something you hate you can do anything 3 I learned that with scars so long so deep they come out to define a person.

I enjoyed learning about electricity because I thought it was very interesting.
I learned that math can be fun for me sometimes.
I didn't learn anything new about life.

I enjoyed learning about the things that make electricity for example Nuclear, hydro, tidal, wind and more. Also, I like to learn math and different ways to do it. Finally I liked doing the ecosystems project because I learned new things that I did not know.

I enjoyed learning about the food chain and eycosystems. I also enjoyed learning about electricity and circuits. learned that I am good at math if I try harder.

Something I enjoyed learning about this year was culture projects. I enjoyed teaching others my culture and learning about other peoples aswel. Something I learned is that art and social studies are not my strongest or most fun subjects. I haven't learned anything about my life.

One thing that I enjoyed learning about this year was cells. I thought it was fun because we got to make a diagram of a cell. One thing I learned about myself this year was that it is really easy for me to make friends. I'm not sure if I learned anything about my life.

I enjoyed all of the stuff we did in P.E other track because it was not fun.
I learned that if I study hard I can do better.
I learned that some people have no life.

This year, I enjoyed learning about was electricity. I learned about the different types of energy, such as, Hydro, Tidal, Nuclear, geothermal, and solar. This year, I learned that I enjoy math sometimes, and that if I try my hardest I can go above and beyond. I didn't really learn anything new about myself though.

I enjoyed learned about dance the most this year because it was really fun to learn different moves and routines since at the start I said "I hate dancing" its turns out I love it know! I learned about myself that I love to dance and that I can make huge improvements in my work mostly math. I'm not sure if I lea rend anything new about life is year.

The past two years I have really liked science and have really looked into it more and found it interesting and fun and I want to be a scientist of some sort when I am an adult. This year I have learned that I really like being myself but I learned that I like comic books and stuff like that and that was somthing if you ask me last year I might have said somthing like their okay but mow I love them. Lastly I learned that life can suck at times and life will throw some curve balls but you will hit them out of the park and keep on moving around the bases of life.

1.) I really enjoyed learning about the Ancient Egyptians because it feels like were going kind of back in time to discover a generation that used nature for their basic survival needs. Also its just fun learning about things that they did before electricity and learning about how stuff was made and named. Like how Vancouver was named by George Vancouver. That was interesting to learn.

2.) I learned that I should always try my best in school work and handing it in. Even though my work might be sloppy sometimes i'm really trying to make it as good as I can.

3.) I've learned that it is not so good to get into a lot of drama and fights with really good friends.

What I had enjoyed learning was about electricity and how protons and electrons work or what they are.
What I learned about myself this year was that I had to make wis choices, because back then I never really made a wise choice, I just picked a random choice.
What I learned about life this year was sometimes it can be important and sometimes it can't, but mostly it's important.

I enjoyed the dance unit we did. I think that for years to come there should be a bigger dance unit because dancing is a way for people to be themselves, be active and express themselves in a way that can benefit them.
SOmething I learned about myself is that I like to take control of situations if I find them overwhelming and stressful. I also learnt that working with certain people in the classroom is a struggle.
I have learnt better time management and to not feel so nervous to talk in front of a group of people.

What I had enjoyed most this year school year was the socials culture projects, because there was so many diferant people with diferant cultures it made the project very interesting and to see how diverse the world really is with all of its diferant ways in life. What I had learned about life this year was that if you don't try your hardest nor your best you will not succeed your main goal to get that good mark.

I enjoyed learning about ancient civilization, because it was interesting to know about lots of civilization and how does that technology developed, and help us.
I learned that if I try hard I can do it.
I learned that i have to kepp my desk clean.

I improved a lot this year. I enjoyed making the sandstone sculptures and tile frame art. I also loved learning so many new math concepts and other things i'll use in highschool, college and life in general. I learned that I really do love to learn. (Warning, corny sentence ahead) I have learned so so much this year in grade 7, and I have loved every minute of it. Even though some of the lessons were a bit boring, the things we were learning were good things to know. This year I learned not just about school subjects, but also about myself. I realized that I love and excell at math, and that I enjoy writing poems and connections. I'm going to miss Hillcrest, my second home. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great experience as well as a highlight and big part of my life. ;)

P.S. I'm sorry for posting so late, my family and I spent the entire day in Downtown Vancouver, and I didn't have time then.

P.S.S. Will there be the sunnyside feildtrip tomorrow as said in the notice?

P.S.S.S. The colours for the dance tomorrow are red, yellow, green, blue, grey and BLACK, not white. :D

I enjoyed S.S on civilizations and traditions it was really intresting of the the place I was doing. I also enjoyed the stuff we learned in p.e it really fun and we got to do lots of great sports. This year I improved in my work and I am proud of myself.

My favorite thing we have learned this year is about the stock markets. I really liked doing that because it was practical math rather then stuff we will likely never use.
I learned that I need to stay on top of my work and finish it on time.
I learned grade 7 at times can be a bit boring. (No offence) We are doing some of the same stuff as last year so it can be a bit of a repeat.

I learned a lot this year. At the the start of the year I didn't no how to divid but now I do! I'm really happy I know that now. I learned a lot about my self to. I learned that I do enjoy science because at the start of the year I didn't like science at all. Also I learned in life that being honest is the best. (Not that I was a person who lied a lot.) It really helps you and people are not as mad when you tell them the truth. I really enjoyed Social Studies, I really like learning about Ancient Egypt. I learned a lot about it.

2.) I learned that I am smarter than I thought. I got the highest grades in grade 7 compared to 6,5, and 4.

3.) I didn't really learn anything new about life, unless life in Ancient Rome would count

I really enjoyed learning about electricity I think that was a lot of fun. Something I learned about myself this year was probably actually I'm not sure. I don't know

I enjoyed learning about mesopotamian writing and making the projects like the clay tablet.
I learned that in life you make mistakes and with those mistakes you learn from them so no matter where you are or when, your always learning.
