MONDAY: FORCES AND NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION

2/23/2015

Today, students were introduced to gravity which will set the stage for our class tomorrow on Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. Click on each of these links to read about these 3 Laws of Motion. You will need to do this in order to complete the Post a Response for today.

1.) MATH 6: Any assigned work. Check your teacher's website for your assignment.
MATH 7: Measure the circumference and diameter of 3 circular objects in your bedroom.

2.) LA 6/7: Complete section A and B of the reading booklet you completed when the students were at band.

3.) SCIENCE 6/7:

The first law of motion: An object will stay in its place unless moved by another object or force and will stay in motion until stopped by a object.
The second law of motion: More force will be required because the mass of the object like a brick and a pillow the brick will require much more force than the pillow.
The third law of motion: When someone wants to jump, he or she exerts additional downward force on the ground ('action').the ground exerts upward force on the person ('reaction'). If this upward force is greater than the person's weight, this will result in upward acceleration.

1st law: things will remain still or in the same movement in a line unless stopped or acted oppon.
if there was a branch if it was still it would stay that way unlless someone or something changed it.

2nd law: things want to do what they are currently doing.
for example: when a ball is kicked if there was no gravity,wind, or things in the way it would move forever.

3rd law: the more mass an object has the more fore will need to be applied to make it move.
for example: when you pickup a table, more force is requiered instead of picking up a chair which would require less force.

NEWTONS LAWS!

Law #1. A object will always stay in the same place unless some kind force makes it move. (When we say object we are not talking animals). For example say I have a pencil and the pencil is placed in the middle of my desk and then it starts rolling of my desk, It's not the pencil moving its the force that is moving the pencil. In this case the force is the air blowing on it cause it to roll off the desk. To put into perspective think of it like "if pencil moves, the pencil wants to move" NO! Its not that way it should be... "if pencil moves force is being applied".

Law #2. Due to the mass of objects the force being implemented maters on the object. To illustrate think of "the force scale" (i'm just making this up to give an example) now say the force scale is on a scale of 1-10 now say I want to push a CD i'll say like I will need to give it a force of 3? Maybe lower maybe higher! Now say I want to push a rock on the sandy beach I'll say somewhat 8-9-ish. So you get the law all objects will need to different force to be implemented to move and the distance its going to move.

Law #3. When a basketball bounces on the ground it bounces up and what do you know thats science!! Say the ground was perfectly flat then you will bounce the basketball and it won't go anywhere! Most people think of as 1 part to the bounce the basketball is what needs it to bounce, no. There are to parts the ground and the basketball. Now when you bounce the ball force is implemented to the ground to help it bounce up. Okay cool! So now going back to Newton's second law the amount of space the object is moving matters on how much force is placed thats the same in this when I bounce the ball VERY HARD it'll bounce higher because of the force on the wall and the force on the ground, so if this where to be the other way around you'll know what will happen!!

1: The object will always stay in the same place unless some kind of force moves it. For example if I had a pencil and the pencil starts rolling off of my desk. Its not the pencil moving its the force moving the pencil. If the pencil moves its because it wants to. That is false actually its the force that's always moving the pencil.

2: Due to the mass of objects the force being implemented matters on the object. For example if I wanted to push a CD in and watch a movie then I would give it a force of maybe 3? maybe lower or higher. Say I wanted to push something bigger then I would need more force. The bigger the object the bigger the force it needs to move.

3:when a basketball bounces you are giving it force against the ground and then the ground makes it bounce towards the ceiling. Force is implemented to the ground to help it bounce back up.

Say I have a piece of paper and it is completely still on my desk it will stay still until a force moves it and in that case I am this force. So if I place my hand down on the paper then move my hand to the side so now it has moved.

Law 2: When you are applying force it depends on how much the mass of the object is. For example, if I have a balloon and want to kick it I don't have to apply that much force because the balloon doesn't have a great mass but if I'm going to kick a soccer ball I'm going to have to apply more force because a soccer ball has more mass than a balloon.

before their eyes. So when you bounce that tennis ball it comes back up but, you would not be abled to do this on a flat surface. 1ST LAW
Everything needs to be pushed. Unless its alive of course. Without a push it cant be moved. In other words, Everything is lazy. For example, If you have a soccerball it won't move unless you touch it.

2ND LAW
You need to have different streght for different mass. So like if you are pushing a couch it will be harder than pushing a shoe.

3RD LAW
if you have an action you get a reaction. So say you bounce on a trampoline you will have the same amount of force on each side. You will go down in the trampoline than it will push you up.

Law #1: Objects keep doing what they are already doing. For example if you kick a pillow off the couch it keeps going whether gravity pulls it down or something gets in its way. To stop something from keeping on doing what its doing we need to apply an unbalanced force.

Law #2: The more force you apply on an object the more it will move. For example if I throw a full bottle of water and an empty bottle the empty one is going to go farther because I don't need as much force to move it and if I wanted to throw them at the same place I would need more force for the full bottle of water.

Law #3: If you do something to an object something else will happen. For example if I hit a nail with a hammer the hammer will bounce back because the nail gets in the way me pushing in the hammer is the action and the hammer bouncing back is the reaction.

Newton's First Law - An object of some sort (Eg. Brick) that will just stay in one spot once dropped unless the object that it was dropped on has a very unbalanced force. But when you put force by balanced force, (Brick to Rock Solid Ground) then the object shouldn't fly back, unless the object (Brick to Trampoline) has an unbalanced force, which would make the object fly back.

Newton's Second Law - The second law is based on acceleration, whatever the mass, it could still be tipped over. Maybe destroyed by accident. Like how a soccer ball could be kicked with the acceleration of your feet, depending on how much force you put into it, the more further it accelerates and flies. If you kick a brick, it will move but hurt. So you'd need to put more force onto it.

Newton's Third Law - This third law is a very hard-quite-to-understand thing, but let me explain it in simple terms. It means when a very similar base or object is being pushed by force as it is also pushing through force the other way. Still don't get it? Here is even more simple terms. One side gets pushed by force, the other side is pushing through force, and both sides are equal shapes or objects.

1.) Firstly, If a object is moved it will keep moving unless if there is something in its way, either it is the air, ground texture, or another object. For example, if I rolled a ball on flat ground it will keep on moving unless if there is something in its way that stops it. Secondly, If a object stays it will keep on staying unless if there is a force making it move. For example, if a rock is just laying on the ground it will keep on staying on the ground unless if there is a force. Above all, that is the first law of motion; also called "the law of inertia".

2.) The second law of motion depends on how much force you are using depending on mass. For example, if I picked up two 30 pound weights I will need to apply more force because it has a great mass. But, if I picked up two 3 pound tennis balls I wouldn't need to apply much force because it doesn't have a great mass.

3.) The third law of motion is when action and a re-action happens. For example, if I dropped a tennis ball on flat ground it will bounce back up because of the re-action. But, if I dropped a heavy bowling ball on the ground it won't bounce as much because it has a greater mass than the tennis ball.

1.) If there is an object moving like a wheel it will keep going. But if there is something blocking its path it will stop moving. May there could be bumps all over the ground or a rock that is in the way. If I would leave the wheel in one spot it won't move. It could only move if the ground was down hill and if there is strong wind.

2.) If you have something heavy and you try to throw the object it would be difficult. You can still throw it but it won't go as far as something lighter. Unless your really strong and have a lot of force. If you have some thing light like a ball you can throw even further. It will will go further because if you have something light you can put more force in it.

3.) If you have a ball and hit an object on it will move because the object you threw gave it force to make it move. Also if there is wind blowing left and you had a ball the ball on the ground would also go left because with all the force. Just like a rocket. The air pushes from the other end to make it move.

To me the first law means if you want something to move you have to push the object which is a force but if there were the same airs that were in space the objects will keep moving bot we have stuff like oxygen and Corbin dyoxid it will stop. For example: to move a chair you need to push it with force but it will not keep going forever because of stuff like cars.

The third law is if you drop a something on the ground it will bounce back because the ground is like trampoline that bounce it up which is the opposite of how you dropped it for example: you jump on the ground you go back up right how that happens is the ground is like a trampoline it goes down then it comes right back up.

#1 An object will stay still unless you move it with effort and force example) if you did not kick a ball it would not move until you give it force by kicking it.

#2 Force is required to make an object move with acceleration to make it move a destination example) if you punched someone you would need acceleration to hit them.

#3 The action of the force is like the reaction to its self example) if you throw a ball at a wall it would cause it to come back to you.

1. If something is in motion it will not stop until acted upon by a outside force. Say a ball was in the middle of a field, the ball was not moving then a boy comes and kicks it and it moves, if nothing was in its way it would role forever. Say the ball ran into a kid and she stopped the ball from moving, it would not move until acted upon by an outside force.
2. If you try to pick up a table likely it would not move, but if you move or kick a soccer ball it would move very easily across the surface your on. See, if I tried to move a table with all of my force and it did not move but I kick a soccer ball with same amount of force it would go super far.
3. If I bounced a basket ball and it bounced back up to me that's called action then reaction. Like a car, if the wheels started to move (action) the wheels would move the whole car and the weight.

Law #1:
An object that is moving will keep moving unless there is something in it's way (AIR, ROUGH GROUND, ROCK). Example, if I rolled a tennis ball on the ground it would keep moving until another force acts upon it. If and object is still it will stay still until a force acts upon it.

Law #2:
If I were to throw a small rock and then throw a big rock the small rock would go farther than the big rock because the big rock has more mass than the small rock. The bigger the mass of the object the more force needed to move the object. But, if you were to throw the small rock with little force and throw the big rock with more force the big rock would go farther because, the big rock was thrown with more force. When a force acts on a mass acceleration is produced.

Law #3:
If I were to bounce a basketball it would go down and hit the floor then come back up. It does that by making a downward action on the floor and then the floor reacts by pushing the ball with the same force.

Newtons second law is, how fast an object is going depends on the massor how heavy that object.

An object will have a reaction from you action. For example, if you drop na bouncy ball hard on the ground the ball will come back up reacting from you droping the ball. This is newtons third law.

1ST Law
Every thing in the world need a push for it to move.If it didn't have any push it will never move.If you apply a little force on a object you will move it a little so it depends on how much force for example if i throw a rock at the wall i am applying my force to propel it foreword
2ST Law
The second law is you need about the same amount of force to move an object for example to move an car you need to apply the same about amount of force to move it.
3ST Law
If you apply force to an object for example if i hit a weal with a stick it will keep roiling the earth under it is propelling it foreword so as much force i use for the action it is going to be the same for the reaction.

Law #1: Intertia is when a object will always stay in the same place unless a force moves it. Example if I have a stuffed animal on the ground it won't move unless I use force.

Law #2: The more you apply to a object the more it will move. Example if I kick a soccerball with not much force it probably won't go as far than if I kick something with a lot of force it will go further.

Law #3: Action Reaction is when say I have a Bouncy ball the action would be when I drop the bouncy ball and the reaction is when the ball bounces.

Law #1: The object will stay still unless something moves it. For example if there was a book on the ground it won't move by it self unless someone pick it up.

Law#2: the more force you apply the more object will move. Also if you apply stronger force it will move more than applying less force. For example if you kick the rock hard the rock will go further however if you kick the rock nicely it will move not that far.

Law #3: The object will have reaction. For example if I drop the basketball and for the reaction it will bounce.

Law 1.) an object will stay idle unless affected by something else exerting force against it. Ex: if you slap someone's face they will be moved a bit by the force you are exerting against them.
Law 2.) if by the first law something is moved it will continue moving unless stopped by an outside force. Ex: Gravity pulls things down, terrain can cause resistance, air resistance also slows it down.
Law 3.) for every exertion of force there is an equal and opposite exertion of force. Ex: for ll mater we use there is antimatter somewhere else in this universe with equal and opposite amounts of force within them.

1) Objects at rest stay at rest unless another force acts upon it. eg. If a soccor ball is not moving o the ground it will stay like that untill something puts force on it like a persons foot kicking the ball.

2) The lighter the object the less force you need to apply. eg. if there was a 50 pound weight and a 2 pound weight you would have to use more force (push/pull harder) than it would take to move the 2 pound weight.

3) With every action there is an equal reaction. eg. When you jump you cant get in the air unless you push off with your feet. By doing that you have used enough force to lift yourself into the air.

1.) The first law of motion is that objects in motion stay in motion unless acted upon by another force. Also, an object at rest ill not move unless an outside force moves it. This is called the law of inertia. Eg. A ball rolling down a hill will continue to roll unless it is stopped by an outside force.

2.) The second law of motion is that depending on how much something weighs is how much acceleration you must use on it. Eg. A medicine ball will take more acceleration to throw as opposed to a tennis ball.

3.) The third law of motion is that if something is pushed or moved, it will get pushed back just as hard. Eg. Wings of a bird push the air downwards, while the air pushes the bird upwards.

First law: something that is not moving or not moving wants to keep their condition. It is hard to stop something moving (like tires)

law#2 The weight of the object will determine how much push or pull it needs to be moved.
A heavier ball will need more force to be moved than a smaller ball.

law#3 There is equal force which will give you a reaction.
A basketball will bounce if you bounce it on the ground.

Law 1:- an object will remain at rest until a force is put upon it.
For example. If a tennis ball is still and some puts a force on it it will roll away.

Law 2:- the mas or weight of the object will determine how much force it needs to make it Move.
Say if you had a medicine ball and a dodge ball you would need more force to push or pull the medicine ball.
Law 3:- there will be a equal force which would give you a reaction.
If a tennis ball bounced on the ground and you did it it would bounce back up
