Monday: Subtraction with Digital Manipulatives - REGROUPING and BORROWING

Today, the students worked with digital manipulatives to practice their subtraction skills. Using base ten blocks is a very visual way for students to not only see the different place values, but also to visualize carrying groups of tens over to the next place value. Trading up and trading down helps students grasp the regrouping concept. In addition to this, the students had a lot of fun airplaying their work and presenting their learning to the class!

"Nothing tests friend ship like high school" I liked that one because it shows who your true friends are and that no one can use you. It means that you have true friends that will stick by you and never leave your side and you have friends that will leave you when they get the chanse and change. You never want to let your true friends go. Because if I faught one of my friends I think maybe half of them would support me. I can connect to having my friends change and you have to look past the little things like my friend was a real show off always trying to do better than me. I always came out on the bottom but all you have to do is not care and then done and via is having that problem she can't over look her friends change and that's not good. Why can't via except her friend they can be who ever. They want and friends will change in the long run and it's not fair to toss them out like old cheese. How can your friends have respect for you if. You can't for them. She's sad about them talking about August behind her back but they like him she needs to stop worrying.

I have a connection for my 2nd quote. My connection to "Nothing tests friendship like high school." My connection is that in gr.5, I used to have lots of friends but in gr.6, some of my friendships with some of my friends started to go away like they don't want to be friends anymore. I've heard in high school that you don't want to be friends with someone that the person and their friends will start rumours about you and sometimes the rumours will start by the popular kids. My cousin got a rumour started about her. And she got really upset about it.
