The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is, well, a list of or rights and freedoms. It relates to the persecution unit because of two of freedoms that are on the list, which are: freedom of religion and the freedom of thought, belief, and opinion.

The charter of right guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society. So its basiclly a list of rights and freedoms. It relates to Persectution because on the list is the freedom of religion and the freedom of thought, belief, and opinion.

The Canadian Charter of Rights and freedoms falls under the constitution act of 1982, guarantees the rights and freedoms of all Canadians. It has all aspects of human rights, from a lot of freedoms such as mobility, through legal rights, to the right to free communication. In particular, it states that everyone is entitled to a lot of freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression and this freedom extends to the press and other communications media. But while the charter allows all candians to freely express their thoughts and opinions, it also protects everyones right to be treated fairly, without discrimination. It relates to persecution because they are saying peopel are getting treated unfairly and they are trying to stop that and I had a connection because when I read Jacobs Rescue and The Boy In The Striped Pagamas I connected to those books because I remember they alwaysed would kill the jews because they were a different culture they wouldent let them just live and they were just killing so many people. Also I knew this relates to persecution because when I read the paragraph of The Charter of Rights and Freedom and it said people are getting treated unfairly right away I knew it was going to be about persecution because the the definition of persecution is treated unfairly and thats how I knew it was about persecution and how it relates to persecution.

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is a list of rights and freedoms that we, as Canadians, have. One example of this is the "The Freedom of Speech". This right gives us the ability to say what we want and be honest and give our opinion. This list has to do with persecution because in some countries they don't have these rights and freedoms. They act and do whatever the government wants ten to do. They follow they way the government wants it and everything is fine. We are lucky to be in a country with these freedoms and this year, more specifically four days ago on March 29 was the 30th anniversary of this Charter of Rights and Freedoms because the list was created on March 29, 1982.

The charter of rights and freedom is basically the rights that Canadians have. An example would be "The freedom of religion and conscience" The charter is split up into many categories. Categories like Equality Rights, Legal Rights, Mobility Rights, Democratic Rights, and Fundamental Freedoms. It is related to persecution because when you persecute someone, you may be taking their rights from them. I didn't find much that was special about this year, I only found out that this year is the charter's 30th birthday.

The Charter Of Rights And Freedoms protect the human rights of all Canadians. So for example, if you are having a problem with someone discriminating you, then you can take it to court and chose what you want to do (sue, etc).
