NOVEL APPROACH BOOK CLUBS

Did any of you run the Sun Run?

Mr. Fisher and I were happy to see all of the book clubs running smoothly. Even groups that experienced road blocks in previous discussions were able to learn from what worked and what didn't work to effectively learn from one another through group discussions. We are looking forward to helping you with your powerful responses next week. We will start them on Monday and submit them on Friday.

PENCIL TO PIXELS FOLDER

1.) MATH DIV 2: Any work assigned by Mr. Fisher
MATH DIV 1: Complete at least 3 of the plotting pictures worksheets.

2.) ART:

Complete your third draft of your self-portrait in the manga/anime style. This is due tomorrow.
Remember, follow the steps from the online resources and your drawing will turn out really well. If you do not follow the steps, it is likely your drawing will not turn out as expected.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

Using your 'voice', describe in a paragraph how you felt when you saw the beautiful weather outside this morning.
Include any personal connections, inferences, etc.
Edit/revise for the givens.

I woke up because of a dumb little ray of sun shining in my eyes. UGHHHHHHH. Then I thought to myself "Wait it's actually sunny". I could do so many things outside. I could take a walk, play basketball, and even have a picnic by myself. Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again. But am I really going to go outside. I never go outside. Home is the best place on earth I could play games, have WiFi, watch YouTube, eat food whenever I want and the list goes on. Guess I'm just gonna stay home and ignore the beautiful weather outside.

I didn't really notice the weather at first, because I was grumpy at having to wake up early on a weekend. We were going to the Sun run. My Dad plays music for the runners with his friend Kal. But when I did notice, I was relived. Far to often it was raining or overcast for the Sun run, but because Dad plays, we go anyway. but it was nice this year. I had lots of fun there, running around with Everett and even going down to the beach. I even saw Jessica running! She stopped to say hi. I was actually hoping to see her,(she said she runs it) but didn't really expect to, because my Mom and I usually get there so late it's gone from the Sun RUN to the Sun AMBLE. So. Yeah...

When my mom woke me up today, the first thing she did was open up the blinds. I cringed as the sunlight hit my eyes. I have a very busy day ahead of me, leaving almost no time to actually go outside. Besides that, I'm really looking forward to today, and I do have an hour to go outside with my friends. It's the first of many great days!

Today I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. In my bed, I was thinking of, what a beautiful day.. I open up the blinds and I see leaves floating around and swirling like a tornado. So I got out of bed and stared at the beautiful sun. This reminds me of how I always use to go out and picnic when it is a good day especially like today.

This morning, I had to wake up at 6:30am because I was going to the Vancouver Sun Run in the yellow group which started at 9:05 am. I felt like my head was full of clouds and that my limbs were weighted down by rocks. Therefore, I sat on my bed for five minutes. Then guess what? My brother burst into my room and told me to wake up. I just stared, totally confuzzled. Then I shrugged and did my daily routine. We left home at 7:30 am and arrived at Burrard and Georgia St at 8:00 am. This year, I was in the yellow group however they made a mistake and gave me another Jessica’s red bib. We finally found the other Jessica and switched bibs with her. I was very relieved that I could run with my brother and my uncle. When I was running, I saw Emily W. and her family spectating the Sun Run, so I stopped to say hi. In the end my time was 1:08 as in 1 hour and 8 minutes. I beat my time last year, but I could’ve done better, but I’m sick and my ankles started hurting. Oh well. The one thing that I am really confluffled about is that none of my limbs are aching, but my ankles hurt. My brother’s time was 47:20 as in 47 minutes and 20 seconds. He also beat his time last year. Finally, my uncle’s time was 1:07 as in 1 hour and 7 minutes. The really funny part about this Sun Run is that I was running alongside my uncle for 1km and he didn’t notice. Am I really that invisible? I am shorter than most of the people there, but seriously? Anyways. In the end we all had a lot of fun and I will continue to run the Sun Run for as long as I can.

Well, when I woke up this morning, I didn’t really pay much attention to my surroundings (I woke up earlier than I planned, so I was half asleep when I ate breakfast). Eventually I had to go and watch my brother’s class, and I had to go outside. I stepped out the door, and it looked a lot like summer, but it SuRe DiDn’T fEeL lIkE iT! So I shivered, ran back inside, grabbed a sweater, and hesitantly continued walking. Everyone always says not to judge a book by it’s cover, but I never realized that applied to the temperature too. Moral of the story: Just because it looks like summer, and reminds you of summer, it isn’t always as warm as summer...

It really did look like a beautiful day though... heh

I woke up to a little ray of sun peeping through the curtain. I didn’t even realize that it was sunny until I went to get food from the kitchen. Thoughts of going outside were filling my mind, but then I remembered that I’m a lazy potato who doesn’t like being in the sun. Now I’m on a couch, eating food, trying to find some inspiration to draw.

Wow! Is it summer already? Today's weather was surprisingly relaxing. When I first woke up, I was like "ARGHH... I don't want to get out of bed...". I mean, it IS the weekend. I got to go to Queen Elizabeth Park today with my friends. We walked and took multiple pictures of random flowers and cherry blossom trees for Instagram. I sunshine was beautiful and there was a small breeze causing the weather to be just right. Afterwards, we got ice cream from McDonald's. I never thought that it would be this relaxing and fun to be under the sun.

All of the sudden, I was exposed in the sunshine through my window. Ugh, my grandma just had to open the window at 8 in the morning. But I 'm not going to the sun run. I went shopping with my mom and my grandma. We went to Richmond centre, lots and lots of people coming through and through, we bought drinks and started to enjoy this wonderful day doing wonderful things. It was fun and tiring, I must've tried on ten different shirts. Anyways, today was awesome and now I'll have to prepare for school and catch up on my tasks.

My P.A.R.
This morning, my alarm clock woke me up leaving me to see all this darkness in my room. I didn't look out the window to check the weather because I knew that it would be raining out. That was the worst way to start my morning. I go to the washroom which is on the other side of the top floor. When I walk in, a bright light shines in my eyes making them watery. I was surprised because in my room it was so dark which seemed like it was raining out but then the washroom was full of sunlight. Then I realize that the sun rises on the East-side and my room is on the West. I was happy to see that it was such a nice day out. I hope we get these days more often. Goodbye coldness, hello summer!

"What's that tickling my leg?" I think to myself still half asleep. "Oh, it's Tinker kneading me. He must want food." I think to myself. I roll over to see what time it is. The clock says 10:04. "Ugh, it's too early, I want to go back to sleep!" I mumble to myself still half asleep *Instantly regrets staying up so late watching YouTube*. "Alright, Tinx (my cat's nickname) let's go get some food for you," I say to him. Immediately, when I sit up Tinker is rushing to the kitchen. As I'm getting out a can of cat food, I notice how bright the sun is shining through the window. I sigh. "I can't go back to sleep now. The sun will bother me.". I say to myself, "I bet so many people are outside enjoying the sun while I'm inside on social media and watching YouTube.".

Today, I woke up and instantly regretted it. I remembered I had a swim meet. I was instantly nervous. So I didn't care about the weather at all. I went the west Vancouver. I swam till night and when I was out of the swimming pool it was already dark. So, I didn't enjoy the weather at all.

This morning, I woke up at 10:49pm and looked outside. It was sunny. I was pretty cool with it but then I realized that today was pajama day for my church. "UGHHHHHHH!!!" I say. The pajama day clouded my mind of the sunny day. I didn't really go outside today. I do wish tomorrow will be as of a sunny day as today. If it is as sunny, maybe we can play some stones...

It is a sunny day today,how do you feel. For me,I felt really happy in the morning cause for me I think sunny mean like happy and raining mean sad. I feel really warm and relax too! Today morning,I stand in front of the sun and I felt really warm and I close my eyes,trying to relax,it. It makes me feel really relax. I really enjoy the weather today. I had a connection, whenever I wake up in the morning, when I looked outside,I found out that is raining again,then I will just feel really mad because I was thinking how not convenient it is,I don't know if it is because I am unlucky or not. However today,it is just a really sunny day,and I didn't feel mad anymore. I heard the bird singing outside,the children playing with their family,I just really like it. How about you,do you like this kind of weather? Or what weather do you like?

I woke up to the beautiful flashing sun rays that beamed in my room from the curtains my mom had opened. It was around 8:50 in the morning and I had to get up and ready because I had church at 11:00. After getting ready I needed to go, I grabbed my violin and head to the car. Walking out of the house was fresh and bright, feeling the breeze that brushed against my skin. It made me want to stay outside but instead I had to go in the boiling car because of the sun rays that shone it. Off to I went to class and then practice, the weather looked better than ever. If it is tomorrow too like what @May said, maybe we can play some stones....

When I woke up I looked outside and thought such beautiful weather for the sun run. But when we were doing the sun run the sun would shine on us so it was really hot also we were jogging so that made me feel hot too and when we got to the shade I would feel much better. Then after we just stayed home so we missed the rest of that beautiful weather.

Today is such a beautiful day with all the clouds, sunshine, little birds singing, maybe a bit too exaggerated but today seems like a normal day I would have in the summer. Waking up late, doing nothing all day, shopping, and eating food. But today just felt like a normal day.

"Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful" the fire is the sun. I cant wait to do the sun run. So i got out of bed hoping that my mom made pancakes. I got dressed and ran down stairs to check. When i got to the last step i got a huge wif of pancake taste. The pancakes were already on the table. I ran right through the kitchen into the dinning room without saying anything to my mom. When i got to the table i took three and put them on my plate. I looked at the clock. I was running tight on time. So i shoved my pancakes in my mouth and chuged my glass of milk. Now i was on time. Now thanks to me i had a stomache ache. I said bye to my dad when i met him an the middle of the steps. I ran past him. He was startled but thankfully i didnt fall down the steps. I went to grab a bottle of water and i walked to the sun run. Around 15 minutes latter i made it just in time. Everyone started to run.5 minutes into the run my stomach didnt feel so well. Next thing you know i threw up all over the place. The paramedics came and i lost my vision. Everything faded into darkness. The last thing i remembered was seeing my own blood.

This is not a true story i was actually lazy the whole day but i celebrated my brother scotts early birthday which is on tuesday. We had a barbecue and cake. Cake reminds me of diabeties because its full of sugar.

This morning I woke up from a sunshine that sneaked through my window. I tried ignoring it but it was being annoying. I felt like it was trying to wake me up because it was a sunny day. Reminding me that it’s been raining a lot now a days but finally it’s sunny and a really nice day, so wake up and have fun outside. So I woke up and opened my blinds and looked out the window. It refreshed my mind from those gloomy days we’ve been having, it was a great refreshment. It made my day.

Friday morning I woke up to really sad and gloomy weather. I'm trying to say I woke up at 5:00am. All I was was dark clouds, and it was raining lightly. So realistically, I didn't wake up to that beautiful weather we got later (2 hours). However, once I saw the first ray of sunlight come through a window in the living room, I knew it was gonna be a wonderful day outside. And out of all honesty, that's probably why my day was so good. The sunshine.

I've still got some of that weird schedule from spring break. So awesome it's finally gone! Yup, I just complained about something and also complimented it at the same time...

As soon as I stepped out the door, the warm sun tickled my face. It’s too warm to be wearing my jacket now. Hm. How surprising. I’ve stopped wearing my jacket. How could weather separate us so easily? Anyway, today was supposed to be a happy day. I thought I could just lay around and stream Euphoria- but wait. Nope. I had classes. I ended up staying out until 8 O’clock. What a tragedy. 8 hours out of my room. I even witnessed a traumatic hour of non stop crying. From my sister, I mean. I would never cry for an hour. Well, maybe I would- but you don’t have to know that. The suspense must be killing you. Hoping to know why I would cry? You ain’t getting that kind of info. The only good thing that happened to me today was that I got my first bubble tea in a few years, and I danced well once again at dance class. I’m getting better and better~ But since there really isn’t anything else to say, I’ll share some news about BTS! ‘Cause why not? May is the month of their next comeback. I can’t wait for it to break records again! It’s going to be great. May 18th- Love Yourself Tear. So excited! This is going to be my second comeback, and it’s been a full year of happiness being in this fandom and family. I’ve been an ARMY for an entire year now! *claps for self* I hope you guys are okay with my fangirling. The intro was so good, so I’m just wondering how amazing the title song would be. I might even get the album! I’m also guessing that the name of the next song would be Genes- because DNA, you know? *window wiping laughs* Until that day, the anticipation will grow and grow till it explodes. Let’s aim for a higher tier ARMYs!

As you know I LOVE football having the sun out gives me an opportunity to play it and enjoy it even more. In the the rain the ball can slip through your hands. In the sun the ball will just drift down and plop into your waiting hands. I will take rain over sun any day.
