Today, students started working on their second round of picture books for the Novel Approach. They learned about the gradual release of responsibility and are working well independently by following the action criteria chart for independent work time. They will be meeting on a daily basis with their groups in their book clubs to discuss and learn from one another. After they complete their book clubs, they will move on to novels.
