Ever heard of the word density? Well, don’t answer that because I’m gonna tell you what density is and how you could use it. First of all, density is when an object is taking up another objects space. For example, when you see two boxes with a different amount of holes. One with about 5 holes and another with 15 holes. You ask yourself, which is denser? Well you would say the box with 15 holes, because the holes are taking up a lot of the box's space, while the box with 5 holes isn’t as packed as the other box. Secondly, I’ll be telling you what you can use density for. You can use density for seeing what would float or not float. For example, you see a wooden toy boat that weighs 8 gm/ml and then you see a rubber duck that weighs 1.5 gm/ml. Which one will float? The rubber duck! Because as long as the object has a bigger number than the other object, it will sink. In conclusion, I think density is pretty cool, and I learned a lot from doing this par and I’m really excited to do this new science project from home!

Ever heard of the word density? Well, don’t answer that because I’m gonna tell you what density is and how you could use it.

First of all, density is when an object is taking up another objects space. For example, when you see two books with a different amount of stickers on them. One of the books has about 5 stickers and the other book has with 15 stickers. You ask yourself, which is denser? Well you would say the book with 15 stickers! Why? Because the stickers are taking up a lot of the book's space, while the book with 5 stickers isn’t as packed as the other box.

Secondly, I’ll be telling you what you can use density for. You can use density for seeing what would float or not float in water. For example, you see a wooden toy boat that weighs 8 gm/ml and then you see a rubber duck that weighs 1.5 gm/ml. Which one will float in water? The rubber duck! Because as long as the object has a bigger number than the other object, it will sink.

In conclusion, I think density is pretty cool, and I learned a lot from doing this par and I’m really excited to do this new science project from home!

What is density? that is a very good question. Density is how much space something is taking up. The denser it is, the less space it has. Let me explain, water has a density of 50g/mL. If it is lighter than 1g/mL then it will float. for example oil is denser than water, so it will float on top of water. that is also why it is hard to clean it out of the ocean. On the other side, we have corn syrup. It is heavier than 1g/mL, so it would sink to the bottom of the container (or whatever it is in). Those are the basics of density, I hope you learned something new today.

Good paragraph. But for the part where it says "and box 2 has 20 pieces of lego, and both of the boxes have the same size." instead of a comma you should put a period and get rid of the "and". But otherwise its pretty good. :)

Nice paragraph Brendan! It is clear and organized and I like your technique of starting with a few questions to get your reader's attention. The only mistake I thought you could fix was just a missing word. "Of course box 2 IS denser ..." Great job!

Do you know what density is? Well It's fine if you don't because that's why I'm here. Density is when something is taking all the space that the object has so there's no room. For example, you have two empty bags and in the first bag you put a laptop, a binder, a water bottle and a lunch bag in one bag. In the second bag you put a pencil case and a iPad. The first bag is of course more dense than the other bag. There's also a density of water. Density of water is when you put anything that's more dense than 1 g/ml it will sink, but if you put anything that's less dense than 1 g/ml it will float. For example, If you have a plate that's 4 g/ml and another plate that's .2 g/ml. The plate that's 4 g/ml will of course sink and the plate that's .2 g/ml will float.

Hi Konoshin. Nice explanantion of density. I agree with Ty, don't forget to close up your paragraph with a concluding sentence. I like that you started with a question to get your reader's attention. I think if you read over your paragraph before submitting you might notice a few sentences that need some fixing. First, you can take out "one bag" at the end of your first "For example" sentence. You already said "in the first bag" at the beginning of the sentence so you don't need "one bag" at the end. Second, the sentence that starts with "Density of water is..." That sentence is a little awkward. Try simplifying it "If something has a density greater than 1g/ml it will sink, but less than 1g/ml and it will float. Nice work!

Some examples are water and vegtable oil the density of water is 1g/mL and the density of vegetable oil is 0.92 g/mL. so that means the oil would float in the water because the density is lower and if you put steel in the water it would sink because the density of the steel is 7.9 g/ml. thats the easiest part of density.

Another example is if you had 3 nuclear warheads in one room and 15 in another room and the rooms were the same size the room with 15 war heads would be denser because your jamming more items in a certain amount of space.

What is density? Well it if you guessed something in science you would be partly correct.

Density is how much space is in between each thing. If something sinks in water, it has a higher density. For example, a feather would float in water but a piece of gold won't.

That's what density is. You can do an experiment. Get a bucket of water and see if iit has a low density or a high density.

Density is how much space is in between each molecule. The more the molecules are closer together the higher the density. If something sinks in water, it has a higher density. For example, a feather would float in water but a piece of gold won't. The feather has a lower density but the gold has a higher density.

That's what density is. You can do an experiment. Get a bucket of water and see if it has a low density or a high density.

Today we started learning about density. Density is how closely packed the mass is within an object. For example iron is more dense than foam. We also learnt about the 'triangle of power,' which helps us calculate mass, density and volume.

- If you want to calculate density you divide mass by volume.
- If you want to calculate mass you multiply density and volume.
- If you want to calculate volume you divide mass by density.

Did you know that the density of water is 1g/ml? If something has a density that is less than water such as 0.94g/ml it will float in water. The last thing we learnt about is the definition of volume which is how much space it takes up. For example, a NASA rocket ship's volume will always be more than that of an ant. It's interesting how much math there is in science!

What is Density, well I am glad you asked because I am here to talk about Density. For those of you that don’t know anything about the work or the meaning this is the place to be.

Density is basically how you describe how full a object might be or how close things are inside of it. Think of water the particles are all spread out but metal has a very small space with lots of particles so therefore it gets harder the closer they are together the more dense it is. For example water has a density of about 1g/ml which would float. Compare it to a denser object such as Metal which would sink to the bottom.

Density is a basic learning essential, without it you probably can’t tell if water is heavier than metal. Without feeling or weighing it. Unless you are some kind of child prodigy.

Anything less than that will float and anything more than that will sink. Let’s say my boat weighs 0.89g and my friend's boat weighs 1.98, which one will float and which one will sink? My boat will float and my friend’s boat will sink. Hopefully you learned a little bit more about density.

We learned about density today because we are going to start a new science unit all about it. Just in case you don't know what density is, read this paragraph to learn more.

What is a density? Before I answer that, it's not a noun so there is no "a". Density is how closely packed the stuff in an object is. Some examples are water and gold. The density of water is 1g/mL, while gold has a density of 19.3g/ml. Therefore gold sinks in water because it's more dense. We can also compare water with hand grenade which has a density of 2.5 g/cm3. It will sink becuase it;s heavier than water. I hope you learned what density is in this paragraph.

Do you know what density is? Well I'm going to explain what it is in this paragraph. Density means how much space it takes up how closely packed the thing is. For example which would you think is more dense a pencil case with 10 pencils in it or a pencil case with only 1 pencil in it? The answer would be a pencil case with 10 pencils in it since it's taking up more space so the pencil case with 10 pencils is more dense than a pencil case with only 1 pencil. Another thing is that if a liquid is more dense than another liquid it will float. An example is if you put vegetable oil and water in a bottle together, the oil will float since it's less dense than water.

Do you know what density is? A simple explanation is that density describes how closely packed things are inside something. Imagine this, a box filled with so many balls that it is barely able to contain it, versus a box filled only halfway with the same balls. The box that is fully filled is more dense because it is more tightly packed. Some cool things involving density is when you pour oil and water in one container, the oil will stay on top because the particles of it is larger, so it cannot be as tightly packed as water, making it float upwards.

In other words, if an object's particles are extremely compact, it would be considered dense compared to an object's particles that are not.

This is the definition you get when searching up density, but do you understand it? Reading it the first time, I didn’t really understand it.
So what is density? Density is basically how stuffed or packed something is within an object. For example, a rock vs a bag of chips. Of course, the rock is denser because the rock is so tightly packed while the bag of chips is practically empty. Something important to know is that the density of water is 1g/mL. For example, 25 mL of water is equivalent to 25g of water. Today we learned that we can test the density of an object by putting it in water. If it floats it has a density of less than 1g. If it sinks, it has a density of 1g or over.
I hope you learned a little about density after reading this paragraph.

Did you know what is density? Density is is something that are dense and is more tightly to packed. For example, in a room with 2 people in it there are less density but if a room with 18people in it the density is more than the room that with 2people in it. For other example, the ice can float on the water because there are less density but there are some ice under water, that means the ice under the water has more density than the ice float on the water.
So this is density, and now I understand it so I will try to learn more about density

Basically when what you need to is, density in a simple meaning means how packed something is, for example, a bowl has two marshmallow and another bowl has 20 marshmallows in it, so the bowl with 20m marshmallows has more density than the bowl with only two marshmallows. Density pretty much means the amount of stuff in something, so you could say "this has more density".

Now that you know what density means, and I know as well, we can learn new things about density!

on Monday we had a lesson on density, today in going to explaining to you how you can tell which objects are dencer then the other.
how dence an object is really depends on a few things, amount of molecules, size and lastly how closely compact the molecules are.
lets say I want to have 20g of styrofoam and 20g off rocks, since rocks are dencer then of course we would need less to get 20g. this is because the rock is much more compacts and has more "stuff" within itself.

stuff is taking up that objects space, and is more closely packed.
Density does depend on size as well as how compact the molecules are inside:
 If I have the same amount (say 10g) of an object that is extremely dense and an object that has a much lower density (say gold versus Styrofoam) I will need much more of lower density substance to get 10 grams worth than the denser substance.
