Some continued working on self-assessments of their powerful responses and some were working on giving their peers feedback based on the same criteria. Some comments that were overheard in the class included, "This is hard!" Yes, indeed, self-assessing and peer-assessing is hard work as the students have learned this over the last few months. Parents, the assessment process is an essential component of the learning process. Please reinforce this at home by having the students compare their work against the criteria for any given assignment.
