Today, it was crunch time! Students worked hard on their first official book club for Novel Approach, then they continued making improvements to their essays based on the peer feedback they received. Later, they were given two periods to ensure they would make the deadline for the Pop art assignments that are due tomorrow. Students are learning the importance of time management and due dates.

IMPORTANT:

Onomatopoeia pop art
I made Steph Curry shooting a three pointer and my onomatopoeia was SWISH.
It improved it when mr.Hong said to make the back board huge and make it hang off the page I took his feedback.
I also improved it when Matthew said make the ball way bigger and add dot’s to the ball.
My last improvement was when I make my swish really enormous and put 4 boarders to my art.
That is some of my improvements to my art.

I made someone throwing a duck but I wasn't satisfied with my onomatopoeia and changed it to a basketball player dunking. Then, I didn't like my art so I went with a boat. I got feedback from Yshrael to make my onomatopoeia bubble bigger.I also got feedback from Mr. Hong to have less detail so I could focus on the sound more than the picture. That is some of the feedback I got to improve my art.

I looked at the camera. It seemed pretty decent, but there was no action in it. My onomatopoeia was a bit rushed, and you could see some of the coloured paper bleeding through the Sharpie I had drawn lines with. "Looks like I'll need to make another final draft," I thought. Throughout the Pop Art project, Division One has been working on improving their works of art through self, peer, and teacher feedback. For my art project, I gave myself two main pieces of feedback, along with several other pieces of advice from my friends and Mr. Hong. To start with, I improved on my overall organization of the several different parts on my art project. For example, Oriana told me that the starbursts I cut were not too precise, and she could see some jagged cuts on it. From that, I made another draft and paid attention to the cutting of the edges. She also mentioned how she could see some of the coloured paper under the black Sharpie, and that I should totally cover the paper to make it seem more opaque. From that, instead of using Sharpie for the lines on my camera, I replaced it with black paper to ensure opaqueness. Finally, I improved in addition several special elements to make my art pop out more. To illustrate, I added a Snapchat logo (Crystal's idea) and installed LED "fairy" lights onto my art (Mr. Hong's idea). To conclude, I improved in my Pop Art Project by responding to Oriana, Crystal, and Mr. Hong's feedback.

I visualize the times before Covid has started, when people used to gather as a family. The topic of my pop art is cheers and the onomatopoeia is "Chinggggg" One feedback I got from Mr. Hong was to make the hand larger and less arm. I improved my art by drawing the hand bigger and thicker on my final draft. Another feedback I received from Angela was to add starbursts to the onomatopoeia. Therefore, I added two blues, one red, and one yellow construction papers to made it pop out. These are some feedback that I responded during the process.

My pop art was about a Minecraft creeper trying to explode Steve and it’s obvious that if creepers hiss, they are going to explode unless if you hit them with anything. My Onomatopoeia word was called HISS, but I did plan on doing the sword swing onomatopoeia, but it wouldn’t have enough space to handle a second onomatopoeia.

My dirty (1st) draft was a creeper trying to fight Steve but most of the lines were bendy and some parts of the drawing looked like that it had scribbles, but I remember something from the French art from last time which is to fully colour something in as Hayden told me how to do it last time.

My washed (2nd) draft was a big improvement as I used a ruler to make all the lines straight, I was able to improve on that very well as I also did a colouring strategy that Hayden taught me at the French art.

My dried (3rd) draft was the same picture, but I put ben day dots that came from paper hole punched and I glued all the ben day dots on Steve and the creeper, but I forgot to add in the primary colors on the creeper and Mr. Hong gave me feedback to use yellow + blue on the creeper as if you did that it would look like green from far.

My folded (final) draft had the onomatopoeia HISS and the size of my onomatopoeia was way bigger and I took Mr. Hong’s feedback about yellow + blue as he said on my dried draft and Bebe gave me feedback to add yellow between blues while on the other hand it’s blues between yellows so it could look like dark green far away.

Conclusion I think that my Onomatopoeia is described as a well improved art because I was able to get caught up before tomorrow aka 2022-02-09.

DING! SNAP! ROAR! Onomatopoeias are electrifying words that represent real-life sounds using letters. They can create a thrilling and bold effect, exciting the viewer or reader. Therefore, onomatopoeias are fantastic to use in pop art if exaggerated well. Our class, Division 1, has been working on Roy Lichtenstein inspired pop art that utilizes, you guessed it, onomatopoeia. Over the past few weeks, I have created countless drafts using self-assessments, peer feedback, and descriptive feedback from teachers. For example, I noticed that my bread didn't feel like it was actually popping out of the toaster in my previous drafts, so I assessed my work and improved. Now, on my final draft, I folded a piece of paper and placed it under the bread to create a 3D effect, which adds another element to the art. Furthermore, my peers also provided me with descriptive feedback that helped to further improve my work. Jeremy suggested that I use red instead of orange for my onomatopoeia because of two reasons. Firstly, orange isn't a primary colour, so I shouldn't use it. He also said that red would look bolder than orange. I acted on his feedback afterwards and replaced the orange paper with red in my next draft. However, this is not the only occasion I incorporated colours I shouldn't have been using. On my second draft, I dotted my bread with orange and black ben-day dots. Feedback from Mr.Hong reminded me again that I couldn't use that colour. It was a bit frustrating, but I was able to make changes. When it came time to create the bread for my final draft, I took Mr.Hong's feedback to also hole-punch bed-day dots out of paper and glued yellow and black dots on it. Without any of this feedback, I wouldn't have been able to improve nearly has much. It proves how essential self-assessments and feedback for others are.

Michelangelo once said “If people knew how hard i worked to get my mystery, it wouldn’t seem so wonderful at all."
It all started this January 2022 we started doing pop art, on my first draft it’s not really that good and i messed-up a lot of times because i can’t even draw a straight line it was really difficult for me to draw because drawing is not really my passion im bad at it. I actually almost give up on my drawing and i felt embarrassed but i remember when Bram Stoker said “We learn from failure not from success.” My topic is about a telephone ringing why did i choose this as my pop art. I remember we used to have this that my grandma kept and i don’t know where is it now but she said it’s memorable and it’s vintage so that’s the reason why i chose this. I started doing my first draft and it was bad and i can’t tell what’s my mistake. So I asked my friends and tablemates for feedback or what should i do to make it better, i asked my tablemate (Winna) she told me that i should make onomatopoeia bigger and i should colour it using primary colours.
I started my second draft and i don’t think that it’s better than the first one it doesn’t look nice and i coloured it worse but i edited it again and it turns out good. I asked my friends for feedback and Maya told me that i should make the telephone bigger and my onomatopoeia colourful and i should make it clear! I started my final draft and i remember their feedbacks i used their feedback to make it better it turns out really nice and my text are clear. I asked Rhea for my onomatopoeia and she said i should make the word bigger and colour it properly. I used her feedback to improve, today i showed Rhea what i’ve done and she said it’s nice i asked Mr. Hong for feedback and he said i should put white outline to it and i did it and it turns out really good and im proud of it! Plain drawing, doesn’t it need improvements? Self-assessment! My pop art has two dogs, one growling and one scared. My first draft was only drawing and colouring. I got feedback, make starbursts and ben-day dots. For the second draft’s feedback, it’s making better ben-day dots, delete the grass, make a border, and outline the dogs. The final draft was finally more like a pop art. Also, it was kind of better. In conclusion, feedback is very effective. You can see the difference from the first draft to the final draft.

I met the criteria and the requirements.

Feedback is a key to success and if you don’t follow it you will not succeed. What is feedback you may ask well feedback is pretty simple it’s pretty much suggestions for you to improve on you work or assignment but today we used feedback on are Roy leachinstein pop art. In this assignment we neede lots and lots of feedback so we could improve are work specially from either your self a peer or a teacher and I will be telling you the most helpful things from all of those categories. Firstly self feedback, I the self feedback I told my self that I would have to improve on the feet and legs on the pop art, for the peer feedback Shawn said then instead of using orange for the court I could use yellow Ben day dots, and for teacher feed back mr Hong said that I should make the ball very big and add flames so it looks like it’s going really fast. Now you know why I needed feedback on my art.

How did I improve my art?
My first draft was a rough sketch of ice cracking, I got teacher feedback. Which was to add a lake cracking. I added an icy lake cracking for my 2nd draft. Then I asked for more feedback, which was to add an iceberg cracking, then I got peer feedback, which was to make the iceberg bigger which I did, also someone suggested to add the titanic, which I did, but settled for a speedboat after I realized I'm bad at drawing boats, I also got a suggestion which was to make my onomatopoeia more exaggerated by adding lots of colors. Which I then responded to by adding big letters.
In conclusion I improved a lot.

Then I got feed back from Ella and Vernice tell me to make the tree even bigger so it it hangs off the paper a little and for my word woosh vernice told me to make a border around it.

When we first started the pop art, I did a a sketch of a tree and wrote woosh and drew flowers on the tree to make it look like a cherry blossom tree. I got some feedback from Melissa telling me to make the tree bigger and told me to add colors on the tree, so I did. I made the cherry blossom out of dots and made the tree bigger. Finally after collecting all the feedback I had received, I took most of them into consideration and put them onto my final draft. In the end, my 'Pop Art' looks much more presentable and neat than my first draft, compiling all the points from the success criteria. This is another great example of how feedback can easily produce amazing work.

Did you ever do an art that included onomatopoeia? The meaning of onomatopoeia is a word that is a sound. First, Mr. Hong said to add ben-day dots to the background and to the character. So in conclusion, I added red and yellow dots to the character and added blue dots to the background. Vernice also said to cut the ben-day dots to various sizes and glue it on. Second, Mr. Hong said to make the onomatopoeia big and curve while Angela also said to make the onomatopoeia bigger. So in conclusion I made the Onomatopoeia bigger and more curve. Those are the improvments I mad to may to my pop art.

Did you ever do an art that included onomatopoeia? The meaning of onomatopoeia is a word that is a sound. What we are doing is a Roy Lichtenstein pop art. The success criteria includes primary colors, Ben-day dots, etc. To reach the criteria you must include the feedback from peers and self. First, Mr. Hong said to add ben-day dots to the background and to the character. So in conclusion, I added red and yellow dots to the character and added blue dots to the background. Vernice also said to cut the ben-day dots to various sizes and glue it on. Second, Mr. Hong said to make the onomatopoeia big and curve while Angela also said to make the onomatopoeia bigger. For the past few weeks, Division 1 has been doing onomatopoeia pop art inspired by Roy Lichtenstein, a famous pop artist. The process included doing multiple drafts, and taking feedback along the way to see the improvement. There are three different types of feedback: self assessment, peer assessment, and teacher assessment. A piece of feedback I gave myself was to add ben-day dots on the paint palette. It looks much better now, and has more variation in pattern. Another thing I told myself to do was to change what was supposed to be a cross-hatched pencil cup, into a jar with paint water. This makes it so it is easier to see what it is and be more clear. For feedback that Mr. Hong gave me, he told me to make the paint splotches on the paint palette 3D, with actual acrylic paint. I think this gave my final draft a cool effect, and made it more eye-catching. For the "squish" (my first onomatopoeia) he told me to make it more squished together to make it more like the word itself. With this, I also drew squishy goo oozing down the letters to make it a bigger effect. Lastly, I got some feedback from my peers. For example, from my second draft, Bethany told me to make the objects (not including the paint tube) bigger on my final draft, which I think makes it stand out more and have less blank space. Also, Rachel told me to make my drop shadow in the "squirt" (my second onomatopoeia) thicker so it stands out more. In conclusion, my art would've never gotten to where it is now without all of that feedback I got.

Roy Lichtenstein. Does this name sound familiar to you? Well, as a matter of fact, Roy Lichtenstein was an American pop artist. Over the last few weeks, we have been working on our own pop art project. This also means that we have gone through the revision process; create, give feedback, and edit/revise. An example of some feedback I was given from my teacher was that I couldn't use the colour brown, as it is not a primary colour, nor black and white (the typical colours used in pop art). Instead, I used a mix of colours as Mr. Hong suggested. I ended up using red with a tinge of black to darken it. However, it did not look anything like floorboards, so from a peer's suggestion, the floorboards became the bricks of a path outdoors. Another piece of feedback that I received, this time from myself, was to vary the thickness of the lines separating the bricks to add more realism and dimension. I did this by using different kinds of pens. Of course, these are not the only pieces of feedback that I have gotten; they are just some that have helped me to meet the success criteria. Secondly, I started my second draft. My second draft wasn't bad but it was quite messy and the ben-day were not ben-day dots. Thirdly and finally, My third draft is good I would give it an applying if I was Mr. Hong, but my border is a bit messy.
In conclusion, making onomatopoeia pop art inspired by Roy Lichtenstein is pretty hard especially when you're doing multiple drafts. but you can see how much you improve.

FEEDBACK: You need to provide at least 2 examples of things you were able to improve on based on the criteria. Not stating what was bad. For example, "originally, I didn't use ben-day dots or primary colours, so I added those elements on my next draft." or something along the lines of that.
FEEDBACK 2: Check the givens. "self and peer assessing/feedback some of my friends gave my feedback, and my final draft needs a creative border" I don't really know how to correct this because I don't understand. "Self and peer assessing/feedback*,* some of my friends gave me feedback," I think is what you were going for. Capitalize the first letter of your sentence, and add proper punctuation.

“I like to pretend my art has nothing to do with me.” This was a quote Roy Lichtenstien had once used. Generally speaking, sometimes I pretend like my art has nothing to do with me aswell. But who is Roy Lichtenstien? Roy Lichtenstien was a artist known for his bright and bold paintings based off of comic strip cartoons. For the past few weeks, we have been learning about all the different ways and techniques to make a art piece using primary colours and ben day dots. Tomorrow in the hallway Mr Hong will be hanging up all the pieces of art that our class has made during those few weeks. But, how did our art change overtime? Well, our artwork was only able to change because of self-feedback, peer-feedback, and our teachers feedback. However, how was the feedback able to change my artwork overtime? In my first draft, my self feedback was make my onomatopoeia pop out from the paper. Peer-feedback really helped me improve in my second draft but what was the feedback? Some of the feedback was ‘make the mouth open’ or ‘make the onomatopoeia bigger’. In my second draft alot of changes were made. For example, I changed my onomatopoeia and I coloured darker so the colours would stand out more. Some self and peer feedback was making more creative, add “RINGG” as another onomatopoeia, and even colour brighter. As a matter of fact I got more feedback as I kept going on with my second draft and in my third I actually did change alot of it up. So, in my thrid draft I had to change the skin colour to a darker shade of red realizing that I used a skin tone instead of primary colours. I also changed the lip colours to light red and dark red because obviously they’re primary colours. Therefore, feedback can be a very important thing when doing your art or really any subject.

Onomatopoeia. Have you ever heard of that word? It's funny, huh? An onomatopoeia is the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named, for example, grr or rawr. In class, we worked on onomatopoeia pop art, inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's art. We focused a lot on self-assessing and peer/teacher feedback, and making different drafts, to slowly show the progression and changes in your art. My art was a skeleton getting electrocuted, using the onomatopoeia "ZAP." For my first draft, I did a self-assessment, and decided that I should colour more solidly, and try to use different mediums. I received teacher feedback, one suggestion was that I should make my starburst bigger. After making the changes in my second draft, I received peer feedback telling me to make sure to use primary colours (and black and white), as I used green before. Finally, my third and final draft. I made a lot of changes, including adding borders to my starburst, making the onomatopoeia larger, and incorporating lines (elements of art). I think that I have improved quite a lot. In conclusion, self-assessing and receiving peer/teacher feedback can really improve your work, and make it better.
