Learning about residential schools

Today, we started stage 2 of the Novel Approach. You will be moving towards improving your use of the reading strategies to improve not only your reading comprehension, but also your writing and speaking skills. You will be learning working on 'GIFT OF WORDS', 'THINKING AND LEARNING QUESTIONS', conversing in 'BOOK CLUBS', and writing 'POWERFUL RESPONSES'.

1.) LA: Word Work

2.) MATH: Complete assigned work. #1-4, 6, and 8.

3.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today, you learned how to calculate how much an item will cost after taking off a certain percentage off the original price. I have posted two videos today reviewing the lesson from today.
Your job today is to create a question for your fellow classmates. You will do the following:
Post a question and do not solve it.
Solve someone else's questions.
Provide feedback to the person who solves your question. Let them know if they did it correctly or what they have to do to solve it properly.
You may use any strategy you want. If someone's questions has been solved, solve someone else's question.

Since GST=5%; PST=7%
Then $38.47*(1+5%+7%)=$43.09
Therefore the total amount you would pay after the discount is $43.09.

Disclaimer: these facts are not 100% true sooo just solve the question

I have 250 pieces of rice in a bowl.
1 piece of rice has a 2x2x1 cm volume.
My stomach can only hold 34% volume of a normal adult person which is about 1500 cubic centimeter.

What percentage of the rice in the bowl can I eat before my stomach gets full? Also, there is no half or quarter or a rice because they are not able to be cut.

How I figured it out was simple. First, I found out the volume of the piece of rice which was 4. Then I multiplied the volume of the piece of rice with the total amount of rice. 250 x 4 = 1000. So the volume of all the rice would equal 1000. Secondly, I found out how much room Kento has in his stomach. 0.34 x 1500 = 510. Now I know how much room he has in his stomach, I multiply the volume of the piece of rice to a number until I reached the closest to 510. 127 x 4 = 508. It can't be 128 because he would be too full. Lastly, I need to find the amount of rice he ate as a percentage. Divide 127 by 250 which equals 0.508. Now I've got the decimal all I have to do is multiply it by 100. 0.508 x 100 = 50.8. So the answer is 50.8%

Your stomach can hold: 1500*34%=510 cubic cm
1 piece of rice=4 cubic cm
510/4=127.5 pieces of rice. Since you can't cut a piece of rice and you can't hold more than 127.5 pieces of rice, so your answer would be 127 pieces of rice.

You pay: $17.48*(1-33%)*(1+5%+7%)=$13.12
Your friend have to pay: $17.48*33%*(1+5%+7%)=$6.46

Since you didn’t mention tax, I’m going to avoid that. 17.48 times 0.33 is $5.77, so your friend has to pay $5.77. You have to pay 17.48-$5.77, which is $11.71.

Me and my best friend Karman decided to have a bet. We were watching The starkiller base fight in Star Wars the Force Awakens on a lush sunny day,when I told Karman that Kylo Ren will win this fight.
