Today, we started the day off with a round robin tournament in PE between division 1 and 2. Later, we had our class photos taken in addition to the photo of our entire school. In the afternoon, we learned about the cross curricular links of our mapping assignment. We learned it is part of math, socials, language arts, and art. It is always great when we can hit learning intentions from various subject areas. We are looking forward to seeing the learning that you document on your elf-assessment sheets.

1.) MATH: Be sure to complete your math from the other day. We will review your questions tomorrow.

2.) POST A RESPONSE:

Choose 8 of the following words and write the following: (extension, anonymous, chaos, mammoth, vicious, particularly, rejected, disguised, interview, exposed, uncomfortable, contingent, etymology, invisible, acquiesce)

- definitions in your own words
- your own unique and creative sentences
- Give 2 students feedback on their sentences. Give them descriptive feedback on their use of the
words in the right 'CONTEXT'.
- Response to any feedback you receive and edit/revise.

Forcing someone to apologize when they did had done nothing wrong was a demeaning action.

Pencils and other paraphernalia are things you need for writing.

Trundled: To move or roll something slowly, often heavy objects that makes some noisy sounds.

Somehow, we did a great job of trundled our baggage from the entrance to the service center.

Truncheons: A short thick stick that is used as a weapon by police.

Do you know what’s interesting about today? I saw a police officer carried out a bunch of truncheons from their warehouse and handed them out to others.

Ricochet: To bounce and hit the surface and come off at a different angle.

Did you know there are people playing those pinball games in the next door? Where you try to ricochet your pinball to several areas in order to get points.

Corruption: Dishonest or illegal behavior most made by people’s authority.

In this lesson, we started to realize more about how corruption is being stated as illegal actions.

Commandeered: To take away or control someone’s property for your own benefit.

The government has commandeered his authority since he didn’t use it correctly.

Demeaning: Putting somebody in a position which doesn’t show respect as they should have.

It’s never a good action to demeaning anyone by any reason because no doubt, it makes you lower.

Literal: Meaning that’s only basic on words or phrases.

Please show some respects to how he was being so literal sense.

Stymied: To prevent somebody from doing something they have planned or want to do.

I accepted your apology but however, it’s never a reason to deny the fact that he had stymied me.

She's feeling uncomfortable over these people.
2.Invisible: something that cannot be seen.
Thepaper had faded to invisibility.

She got an important interview today, if she didn't [ass that, she will stay at home and wash all the dishes.

Heavy rain has caused total chaos on the roads.

Definition and my own words:

1.) Truncheon – A thick stick carried as a symbol of authority.
2.) Skirmished – Fought or involved in a conflict or fight.
3.) Commentary – A review or an explanation about a situation or an incident.
4.) Literal – Exact meaning of the words
5.) Obligation – An action that a person is committed to do.
6.) Indiscriminately – Without an aim or system.
7.) Ambidextrous – Use of both hands equally without difficulty.
8.) Paraphernalia – Tools or equipment for particular activity; collection of objects or things.

Sentences using my own definition:
1.) Truncheon – The cop truncheon a man because of theft and slight murder.
2.) Skirmished – A gang of teenagers skirmished after having a conflict in the shop.
3.) Commentary – The students wrote a commentary on the teachers' feedback about them.
4.) Literal – I explained to my friend the literal meaning of what has been said.
5.) Obligation – It is my obligation to protect my sister in times of trouble.
6.) Indiscriminately – Nowadays, some notorious men just kill people indiscriminately.
7.) Ambidextrous – My aunt is ambidextrous because she can write clearly using both hands.

He commandeered the key of the company to keep it safe.
Trundled: to move an object which moves slowly or carefully.
He trundled his huge and heavy toy car to his room.
Corruption: dishonest action to get higher power.
To get a better award, he did corruption and was finally exposed.
Deliriously: uncontrolled excitement or being characteristic.
He is deliriously excited to receive his report card.
Ricochets: an object which rebounds when it hit the surface (bounce).

@ Adrian - Great job! I like your creative sentences and clear definitions. Though for trundled, there is no need for another “which moves”. Simply, you just have to write “to move an object slowly or carefully”.

1. Corruption
A person or group of people who use their political power or others to assume control.
The Mexican government is currently corrupt, if we don't stop this corruption then the whole country will be dirty politics.

2. Truncheon
A long stick usually made out of metal, and is often used in police riot gear.
The FBI was busy rounding up gangs, while the police used truncheons to clear the protest in Washington.

3. Literal
A sentence that has no metaphoric representation and is plain.
This boat is big I can literally put 100 cars it and it would not sink, scientifically that is impossible.

4. Commandeered
A person or group of people use force to table control of an area or situation. (the motion)
The Luftwaffe quickly commandeered the situation in Poland, by bombing it.

5. Ricochet
A usually a sharp object that bounces off a harder object at an angle.
A tank fires a AP round at a another tank, the shell ricochet's of the tank.

6. Demeaning
Purposely destroying someone's reputation and makes them look bad.
The sentence on the school wall was really demeaning for the school.

7. Ambidextrous
A person who is quite good using both left and right hand doing something.
Billy is an Ambidextrous basketball player, his coach and team say he is hard to find.

8. Trundled
To move with difficulty while being nosey and disruptive to others.
Ms. Kong’s car trundled through the slippery and bumpy parking lot.

Example: I commandeered my friend to give me something, forever

Corruption: fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
Example: There was a corruption in our school. It was very unsettling for us to hear.

Deliriously: unable to think or speak clearly because of fever or mental confusion
Example: I was deliriously talking to my friends after I got sick. I couldn’t speak to
them for a day.

Ricochet: to hit something and bounce off
Example: I through my basketball at the wall, and it ricocheted off the wall, back into my hands.

Demeaning: making someone lose their respect of another person
Example: Someone in our school put a very demeaning poster, it wasn’t very soaring.

Reconnoiter: getting two things to be compatible with one another.
Example: my friend and I started noticing a change in our friendship. We were getting more reconnoitred with one another.

Stymied: hinder the progress of.
Example: I stymied the process of getting better, I was just too sick.

- When the player kicked the soccer ball to the side, it ricocheted off the wall.

2. Skirmish: a small argument, fight, or disagreement
- Skirmishes started to form in the group when all the members didn’t cooperate and work together well.

3. Ambidextrous: one that is able to use both the right and left hands equally well (sometimes for one specific activity)
- It certainly does take a long time and a huge amount of effort to be ambidextrous at something you do everyday with your dominant hand.

4. Reconnoiter: to explore or make an observation/survey of an area, typically for government and military purposes
- The government reconnoitered the area for updates on the neighbourhood.

5. Stymie: to slow, prevent, or delay the process of something
- The doctor told me today that taking these pills and cleaning the injury will help stymie the infection.

6. Indiscriminately: do something in a random manner that shows no care or effort
- I indiscriminately stuffed all of work into my desk, crinkling every paper and ripping every worksheet.

7. Paraphernalia: necessary equipment used for a certain activity
- There are certain paraphernalia a mother of an infant will need, and it sure can become a mess sometimes.

8. Commentary: one’s explanation, opinion, or response to an event
- His commentary on this event showed everyone how careless he was to this topic, reducing the amount of support he has.
