SPEECH FEST IS APPROACHING!

This morning, we spent a good chunk of time reviewing covid protocols and answering question about the recent exposure. We have been quite diligent about keeping clean at school so we are confident we are all fine. Students were all given their dates for their speeches. We will complete them on Wed, Thurs, and Friday of this week. Students worked hard memorizing and practicing their presentations of their essays using the rubric/criteria provided.

IMPORTANT:
1.) Parents; Please review Covid protocols with your child and ensure you are completing the daily health check prior to sending your child to school.
2.) Parents: Please make sure your child prepares at home for their speech presentations.

LEARNING:
1.) MATH:

Complete all worksheets on adding with integer chips. We will review and go over any misunderstandings before the quiz tomorrow.
QUIZ tomorrow on adding and subtracting with integer chips.

2.) LA/SPEECHES:

Practice your speech, make cue cards, follow the rubric, etc. You start presenting your speeches on Wednesday!

3.) CAREER EDUCATION:

Your research should be more or less completed.
Come up with 5 quality interview questions you want to ask someone in this profession. These should be questions that your research may not have answered.

4.) POST A RESPONSE:

Why is it important to adhere to all our safety protocols at school?
Respond in paragraph format and pay attention to the givens.
Give one student feedback on the givens (spelling, capitals, grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation.

Protocols are very important since they are made to be followed. During this pandemic, safety protocols have been developed to avoid the virus from transmission, and without them, things would've gotten out of control. Protocols are basically the same as a set of rules, whether it is made by a certain person or the whole community. If thought is put into those rules, they always benefit everyone. In a learning environment, not everyone can stay 6 feet apart, making it practically mandatory to follow the safety protocols at school. Even though there are vaccines for the coronavirus now, there still will be unvaccinated people, which is why we should follow the safety protocols and guidelines to avoid more spread. The safety protocols for COVID 19 has helped dramatically and will continue to help reduce the infection and death rate. Due to protocols, Let's hope for a better future.

In this global pandemic, it may seem like there's nothing we can do. However, many safety measures are in place, and it's our job to follow them. We have to follow the rules because it's not just us who are in danger, it's all the people we see. Some people may live with their grandparents, who could easily die if we don't follow the restrictions. At school, it can be hard to follow safety guidelines, but we have to do our best to try and protect as many people as we can. If we give in to 'COVID fatigue', as it's sometimes called, people could get sick because of us. We have to follow the rules now, so we can eventually get to a time when we don't have to.

Following safety protocols are essential in keeping us healthy and slowing the spread of terrible viruses. Imagine what life would be like right now if there were no safety protocols, with people carrying on with life as if there was no pandemic. If we don’t want to risk being infected; if we don’t want people around us to be infected, then we must follow these rules. They exist for one reason, to protect us. We may think that it’s hard to follow these rules at school because of the amount of people there are. Nonetheless, we need to put in our best effort to prevent the virus from getting worse.

It’s important to keep people safe in these time and do what’s supposed to be done with the COVID protocols inside and outside. Don’t try to have social gatherings at all time and do it through online chat like zoom. Where masks at all times and wash hands properly for 20 seconds or sanitize because you can’t wash your hands at that moment.

Think about getting the virus, maybe people you know have. During this time, we are all in fear of getting the virus. Therefore, we should be able to follow Covid protocols, in order to keep us all safe. Things like washing our hands, and sanitizing should be normal. It is important to keep everyone safe, not just yourself, and Covid protocols can help with that. For example, trying someone in our school recently got Covid. It might have just been bad luck, or it could have been not following the protocols. But either way, if we follow the protocols, it would lessen the chance of us getting the virus. We are all doing a good job on that, keep up the work everyone!

As a year has gone by, throughout 2020 to 2021 many events have occurred. Specifically, campaigns like the Black Lives Matter protest, the Anti-Asians and conspicuous debate against Asian Americans. Moreover, the most important event which has been occurring universally, Covid-19, also known as the Coronavirus. Which as a result, its highest record, taking 17,704 lives on a 7 day average on February 3rd 2021. With this in mind, the protocol has taken drastic measures to ensure everyone's safety. To thank everyone, we must all work hard and help through social distancing ourselves, wearing a mask, avoiding social gatherings, sanitizing our hands and keeping clean. In addition, Covid has finally reached our school, this means that everyone must prioritize their safety and keep clean, as not only must we protect ourselves from the virus, we must think about the virus spreading to our friends, family, and loved ones.

Safety protocols is the way to stop COVID 19. It is important that we all follow our local guide lines and to safely distance ourselves with others. Even though some may think that this virus is a lie, we should all do our part by wearing a mask, washing our hands frequently and try our best to distance ourselves. Even though we might not have a higher chance of getting infected by the virus, we should all help others too by keeping ourselves and others safe. If we all continue doing our part, I bet that we can all terminate this virus.

Why is it hard to follow safety protocols? If we followed these protocols, maybe the infection rate of this pandemic could hit a lower rate if everybody follows the instructions. I know most people diligently follow the safety protocols, but there is no meaning of it if not everyone follows the protocol. Viruses are frightening. You don't know whenever it is going to infect you, however, by following all the safety protocols, you can make the virus almost impossible to infect. This is the reason why I highly recommend people to follow the safety protocols if they aren't. To illustrate, some ways to lower the chance of infection is to wash hands often, for at lest 20 seconds, wear a mask, and distance yourself from others at least 6 feet. In conclusion, make sure to remember following the safety protocols.

Safety comes first. The school has made many rules that there to keep us safe. It is important to listen to these rules because if we don't, the amount of people that have COVID will go up by a LOT. One person who doesn't follow the rules can result in their school being closed. Even though these rules might seem a bit strict, they were made with our well being in mind. By following these rules, we are not only protecting ourselves, but our friends and family as well. Although COVID might not affect you that bad, think about your family. Is anyone in your family more at risk? If you answer yes to this question, then I hope you are following all the guidelines for COVID safety. YOUR actions could dictate whether your family member stays with you for a while longer. So whenever you want to do something that goes against the school's COVID rules, just remember that safety is (most likely) more important than what ever you were going to do. SAFETY COMES BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE.

Do you hate COVID-19? It’s so annoying. Even annoying than homework. And we have to wear the mask for the whole time outside. Now, we have protocols for safety in the community so we don’t have to worry about the problem of virus. Of course, protocols for safety is not omnipotent for our health but it can help us stay far away from virus. Just like wear the mask and wash the hand. The spread of bacteria is just like the tree thing Mr. Hong talked about to us today. If one person gets COVID. Maybe he/she will Infect to so many people. That’s why this virus is around the world. Look in the streets, what do you see? People walking, wearing masks. Socially distanced, going to the right side whenever someone passes by. Those are the normal everyday COVID-19 etiquette for walking. In school, its very different. Wearing masks till our ears hurt when we take them off, washing our hands till they're dry, the conditions and changes in the education system had a drastic change with the protocols implemented. It may be irritating and hard at times, but we do it for safety. Safety is so important, especially in this pandemic, where millions are infected and thousands dying everyday. That's why we have these safety protocols. If it weren't for them, millions of loved ones would get infected and potentially die due to complications. This is why we should respect everyone who's monitoring this pandemic and keeping us all safe. I hope that one day, we can all stop this virus by eradicating it forever.

Deaths, lost family members, things like this happen every single day during this global pandemic. This started in late 2019, in China. It was a dangerous virus that was so powerful it spread world wide. It still infects people every single day. Some people don't understand how important something is until they lose it. People take things for granted not knowing the value of it. Covid protocols are so important, something as small as washing your hands could save ones life. It can be hard to follow the safety protocols all the time, but it is best to try at our best. Even if it means doing it for another year, it is protecting you from whatever covid has planned for you next. I hope that by the end of this year, we will fight and defeat covid. I really hope this happens, you might be tired of following these rules but so is evreryone. Started thinking how you would effect other people if you stop taking safety protocols. COVID, none of us want it to continue to spread. By enforcing the protocols put in place by the government is one of the biggest ways we can stop this pandemic from spreading and becoming a bigger problem than it already is. Do you ever get tired of reminders to distance or sanitize? Well, too bad. We are all sick of Covid and are longing to move on. So why not follow the protocols. In the hope that it will keep us safe by preventing the risks of being infected. First of all, washing your hands, social distancing and wearing masks are just some examples. Although, you may think your friends don't have Covid so it's fine or it's only two people you're hanging out with. Well it's not, because you never know who has it and it multiplies so fast. Recently, someone in Laurier was tested positive and this has made us all live in fear again. At the same time, this can remind us that there is still a deadly virus so always follow protocols!

As we all know, the virus COVID-19 has been going around for a year. Obviously, many of us want the virus gone and we shouldn't stay lazy about it. It's time to speed things up. Schools and work places are getting exposed to COVID-19 everyday which builds up even more cases! How should be solve this? Follow the COVID-19 protocols. One main reason COVID-19 cases are increasing instead of decreasing is that not everyone is following the protocols. If only a few people are following the protocols the virus isn't going to stop anytime to soon. Which is why the COVID-19 protocols are their. Think of it as a criteria to success. If we didn't, itwould be much worse. If one person had Covid, and he was with two friends, those two people would get covid. Then, those two people would play with another four people each, and those eight people would get covid. This repeats and repeats, and it's now spread around the world! How has this past year been? I know it sure hasn’t been great for me. In fact, over 2,624,426 have died as of coronavirus and it’s not stopping by itself. In desperate situations all we can do is try and prevent covid-19 from spreading within others and ourselves by following safety protocols and staying at home when we can. As known, the coronavirus spreading these past two years are very contagious by germs unlike a heart stroke meaning that we must make sure to wear masks, wash our hands and social distance to prevent the possibilities. We are limiting the germs paths to pass through our loved ones to save our humanity and it will only progress without action. Besides, without these regulations keeping us in order it would only affect more people and if the vaccine doesn’t work out, we’ll really be screwed. That is why I believe the safety protocols are saving us from our own doing or else the covid-19 would have spread within all of us. Overall, the safety protocols aren’t doing any harm and their only further guaranteeing our survival against the contagious disease, coronavirus.

Everyone should know about the safety protocols that were put out to keep everyone one safe from the virus covid-19. It has devastated many counties and made the world suffer. You should be aware of them, the protocols are wear a mask outside and inside buildings besides your own house, wash or sanitize your hands, wipe down any touched surfaces, and try not to socialize and also distance from others to protect you and the other person.
