SUBTRACTING FRACTIONS WITH FRACTION STRIPS

Today, students learned how to subtract fractions with different denominators with fraction strips. One thing we learned from this whole process was that digital fraction strips are much easier and less tedious to use compared to our paper fraction strips. Students were pleased to use the digital manipulatives to facilitate their learning in math today. I was happy to see students easily subtracting fractions with the fraction strips! Well done everyone!

IMPORTANT: French vocabulary test tomorrow.

1.) MATH:

Complete pg 58-60. Questions #1-15.
Mark using your answer key in your textbook.

2.) SOCIAL STUDIES:

If you didn't finish the Trudeau article and questions in class, complete this for tomorrow.

3.) ART:

Final blob art assignment is due tomorrow.
You will have 30 minutes to finish it up in class tomorrow.

4.) FRENCH: Test on this week's words will be tomorrow.

5.) POST A RESPONSE:

Today, we reviewed the criteria for your upcoming writing assignment. We discussed ideas, structure/organization, conventions (givens), word choice, sentence fluency, and voice.
You will receive your 'WRITE TRAITS' booklets in class tomorrow.
Based on the main topic you came up with today during our one-on-one conference, state what your topic is and what your sub-topics (body paragraphs) will be about.
You do not have to write your paragraphs here, I simply want to make sure you have your ideas ready for tomorrow.
PAR POLICE: Give students feedback based on their main topic and sub topics. They must be related.
Edit/revise based on self/assessments and the feedback from your peers.

@ Shannon - I agree with you. I think that different cultures eat different foods. What is acceptable in one culture may not be acceptable in other cultures. For example, cows are given as offerings to gods in some religions and cultures. I am looking forward to reading your essay!

Today we were given an assignment about writing an essay. We were told to make an idea and expand on said idea to have the preparations for an essay. I Haven't fully expanded on my topic yet but my general topic is communicable diseases. I have listed some communicable diseases such as colds and fevers. I will use these ideas to create a criteria for myself to create the best possible essay ever.

Communicable diseases are diseases or illnesses that can be easily spread through physical contact, such as sneezing or coughing. I listed some ways of illnesses being spread such as coughing, or hygiene. Things such as colds can be very simple C.D's as things like sneezing can easily make it spread. This means when you are sick you must make sure you are clean.

The topic for my essay ids going to be technology. Some of my subs are going to be:
Computers. With computers, you can watch YouTube, and play online games. The problem is that you need WiFi, to go on the internet. You can play downloaded games and eve do the school Par.
Another sub topic is devices, like phones and I pads etc. You can play games like Clash Royale, and Fortnite. You can call people with phones or use social media, like Instagram or Snapchat etc.
If you have a TV, then you can watch a lot of things. Like you can watch cartoons, series, movies, episodes and more. You can also go on YouTube and watch videos.

Right now my topic is about (trivia) I’m not sure if it’s right but I looked into a dictionary for this word. What I’m trying to say is “something that’s common but people don’t realize it. I think it can be also known as Fun Facts.”

My sub-topics would be trivia about animals. For example, I’ve done a little research about trivia of cats and dogs, which is something that I can write.

I’m still thinking if I should write about this topic because Mr.Hong said I might need to change it.
