1.) STUDENT CONFERENCES: Parents/students, please click here to sign up for a time that works for you and your parents.
1.) LA/READING: Read for 30 minutes and log on your handout. Hong Bucks will be given out this coming week.
2.) MATH: If you haven't shown Mr. Hong your missed HW assignments, be sure to do that by Monday. Student/Parent/Conferences are coming up in the first week of November!
3.) ADST/SOCIAL STUDIES:
- Yesterday, we not only continued learning about colour codes with the Ozobots, but we also learned about Dorothy Vaughan.
- Share what you learned with your parents. Maybe even watch the short video clip below with them.
4.) POST A RESPONSE:
- LEARNING INTENTION: I can write a paragraph explaining who Dorothy Vaughan was.
1.) Paragraph format (intro/body/conclusion)
2.) Topic sentence/engaging hook: Use one of the hooks you haven't used recently. Refer
to this link.
3.) BODY: Must include at least 3 interesting facts about who Dorothy Vaughan was and her
accomplishments. Provide specific examples and explain them in detail.
4.) GIVENS/CONVENTIONS: Check your work for spelling, grammar, capitals, punctuation,
and sentence structure. Edit/revise your paragraph based on your self-assessment.
5.) PEER FEEDBACK: Today, I want you to give feedback to one of your classmates in the
form of a question. Ask them about what they wrote? If they stated Dorothy Vaughan was
a computer, ask them to explain why she was called a computer (assuming they didn't
explain this in their paragraph).
6.) RESPOND TO QUESTIONS: Respond to any and all questions you receive.
